Re: Game or Movie?

Wow... that looks like a hell of a cool movie.

But, no, not related. That release date is in South Korea (actually, IMDB lists the release date in South Korea as 8/2), it's already been released in Europe apparently, and it won't be released in the US until September 14th.

And, for the record, that city is Los Angeles.

Interesting. Wonder why there hasn't been more out about it?

People have mentioned it in connection with that other ARG (so-called), but it's not related to that either. Why would a Korean film company make a film in Korea about an attack on LA? Well, anyhoo, I think all of these things are just expressions (or taking-advantage) of the widespread interest in apocalyptic themes these past few years, so there are bound to be similarities.

Ah well... I just thought that I had seen somewhere here an image comparing the graphics at EHWR with the graphics from the upcoming Alpha Omega game (Damn, I wish I had kept better track of these things back at the beginning) and it seemed soooo similar. Back to the drawing board.

this is weird

Hi, I'm new this is my first ARG, as well as my first post here so, be gentle.

When I went to wikipedia, as I do every so often, and I saw that their bit on the Mezin ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethan_haas_was_right#The_Mezin ) had been edited, now there was some new info, but the weird thing is some of the letters in places that should not have been changed (as they were already there and had no spelling errors) had been capitalized, like websiTe and such, and one letter had been replaced with a number, so I wrote down the letters that had been changed and got this: CU1URETURNSP

it's been edited back to the way it was before now, new info and all so maybe this was just a gamejack, I don't know

let me know what you think.

The infamous "Keyboardmaster" has modified that page several times. Yay, Wikipedia! Bastion of accuracy!

It pretty obvious to me that the writer wrote something on white paper, then scanned and transposed that onto other images of worn, antique paper. Caph is clearly transposed and somewhat sloppily done since there was no attempt to make the ink appear to bleed into the paper and the ink itself is too transparent. It also looks like these are cards, rather than sheets of paper (notice the "dented" corners). I think any faint impressions you might see are probably just vestigial traces of whatever was written on the other side of the originals, or perhaps pencil marks that were erased.

I thought of that, too; as if they were written as earlier drafts that didn't quite get erased enough. I wonder, though, if it was carelessness or truly done on purpose as a clue.

Gamma Cass:

At first, I thought this was proof of the carelessness; it is clear that the different areas are copied twice horizontally. This is a very rookie, very lazy mistake. I would hope our puppetmasters would be more sophisticated than this, at least considering the websites of RIA, for example, which are very much NOT simple or lazy or rookie. Bizarre, yes, but without mistakes.

Then I got thinking: what if they did this on purpose? There is no repeating on Caph that I can see (plus, the wording doesn't match on the two sides). Clearly, the two papers - written by the same hand, so likely compiled by the same people - were prepared in entirely different ways. If this is the case, the puppetmasters would likely not make an editing error on a final product (Caph). I truly don't believe it is in accident, and I still think that it is a clue to find more information (B!x, it's really not in the address of the other two journal pages?)

Edited to link to large image which was stretching the column width - Gupfee

I don't see how. But that doesn't mean someone else won't see it once they've pulled the trigger on them.

I don't see the similarity in the pics in the comparison. The top and middle pictures are the same pic on EHWR.com, obviously, but it only marginally looks like the bottom pic. We also can't say that they are the same graphic artist (besides the fact that they aren't quite THAT similar) since most likely the artist to EHWR was a member of RED and A-_O_ (alpha-omega, or does "o<-w" work better?) is a product of MSL. YES, MSL could have loaned an artist to RED, but I don't think they look very similar.

Despite this, I believe that MSL is involved in this ARG as the PMasters.

Wow, seriously?

Look again:

http://www.ffxiresource.com/devel/ethanhaas/

The same door/wall with the

Code:

-------
  | |
  | |

shape in it. And right above that, in both pictures, what appears to be a dark three-paned window rising vertically.

To the right of that door/wall you have two figures of people, in both pictures.

Once you see those, you can see where other objects line up between the two as well.
