All of them read like a quick way to close off the 'game.' I'm guessing they just gave us a bunch of backstory that leads directly up to the tabletop game. Alas. If it had been a console game, I would have been really excited...

Anyone want to suggest a different CF/ARG in early stages I could get in on?

Boy, what a disappointment. I almost wish it had been tied to cloverfield.

Yeah I too was hoping for more. But keep in mind ARG's are mostly to hype up products. We kind of knew that Ethan Haas was for the Alpha Omega game almost from the beginning. I know there is a lot of disappointment out there, but hey it kept you amused for awhile so look on the bright side. It was fun while it lasted.

Well, THAT was anti-climactic... Notice their newsletter now has Winter Park as the official MSL address? I should go work for them.

Anyone feel that this "game" is somehow not done? What explanation is there for everything that went on yesterday with auto-responders? Or did we simply take too long?

P.S.: Their forums are broken.

I dont think that the 'failure' was our fault...
they promised somthing on the site on aug-1 that they shoulda given
us something on the site and something obvious. We tried everything
possible everywhere.

I am not gonna give up on this just yet... I'll follow what's going on... but I'm not sure if i'm gonna invest in this at all now tho...

Yeah it feels like there will be alot more to the game... maybe since most of the mechanics for AO use the internet the next phase will be done using their game system...would be a great way to market and teach people how to play (Similar to how games workshop sends free start kits to bussinesses that stock their products--the best way to learn how to play these kinds of games is to have some one else teach you)

I'm still grumbling. I was hoping to play something on the side as Deus City has slowed down a bit and EHWR looked great.

I'm sure the RPG will be ok, but #1 they're charging and #2 it's not even an ARG anymore...

Savemyhusband at least promised to give me $4.11 - we didn't even get a coupon for the game. Boo, sirs, boo...

And what the heck was the "remind me" email for????

This entire time...

...I thought this was going to be massive. I was poking around on the Year Zero boards (not much of a NIN fan, but the websites and the thought that appears to have gone into that ARG were amazing) when I skimmed sideways and found this. And I got excited...like, little kid excited. What a cool thing, I thought, to have "game" characters sending out cryptic emails, pointing the "Players" in new directions on the internet.

Now, I find myself wondering just what in the aitch-eee-dubba-hockey sticks people see in ARGs. If THIS is what they amount to, with dozens of clues leading off into (apparently) completely unrelated tangents *cough*ckrox*cough* why bother? My only ray of hope that this might continue to be a game is the naming of another person associated with Triton (Jill Davidge) but then, if I read the speculation in the last few pages correctly, the next part of this ARG will deal directly with the Alpha Omega game mechanics...which...is like taking an MMO, taking away the painstakingly rendered user interface, and stirring in steady doses of soap opera mystery.

Anyway...if someone could please shed some light here...maybe even just point me in the direction of a decent ARG that I can sink my teeth into, where the PMs aren't asleep at the wheel?

P.S. I'm REALLY disappointed that my whole "Mezin tribe from the Ukraine during the Paleolithic Era" theory didn't turn out to be the basis for something in the game. Which is stupid, but there you go.

I think I may have found the key. look at the source code for EHWR.com/helpme :

Quote:

</head>

<body>
<p>Share this message as guidance for how to navigate the 5 locks to the key code...</p>
<p>1) The first lock will test your memory. Follow the trail of light and sound, but be<br>
careful -- one wrong move will send you back to the beginning.<br>

<br>
2) For the second lock, you may need to look to the stars. They will help you find<br>
HAAS who will lead your way.<br>
<br>
3) The third lock will require you to extinguish all lights but one. Only with one light<br>
remaining will you be able to proceed.<br>
<br>
4) The fourth lock will let you move all 4 pieces through the control of one. However,<br>

unless the three key pieces are simultaneously placed into position, you will not be <br>
granted access.<br>
<span>&uarr;&larr;&darr;&darr;&larr;&rarr;&uarr;&rarr;&uarr;&larr;&larr;<br>
</span>5) The fifth lock will be the toughest. Seek help again from the stars to reveal your<br>
key
and the message that you must decode. The two working together will <br>
open the way. <br>
<br>
Good luck.<br>

Seems like the last clue is important...maybe we missed something...didn't van say somthing about a KEYcode? Maybe the divinus tablet have on;y one thing the answer to the 5th puzzle is the answer to the divinus if only I could remember what the top and bottom lines are....

Maybe there's still more to it (grasping at straws, I know, but when there isn't any real hope, fake hope will have to do).

I love how everyone is so pissed off about this. What did you expect? We have known for a long while this was about a tabletop game. Just because you refused to believe it was does not make it the PMs fault.

And being mad about ckrox? Wow thats laughable, that was dismissed as not in game pretty much the first moment it was found.

The only thing I find disappointing is that I for some reason can not get the alpha omega site to load.
