I absolutely love this one.
And for those who want to skip right to the meat...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

Go there, and really really enjoy yourself. Gotta love the different langs thrown it, tee hee. I have to say, this is one of my favourite missions. Total sweetness. *throws the rock fist* Completely into the theme of the game, now!
And yay, going by the rules, I have to get 6 sightings a day to make it into the competition! Wheeeee!

So I found the handle and I found the password, which led me to this video. Now I need to get the message to type in to be confirmed. I typed in the exact message as on the video and I am not getting confirmed. What am I doing wrong? Is it the capitalization or something? Tried it many different ways.

Sometimes there are problems even if it's the correct answer. WHat did you try, just for reference.

What worked for me...

Again, it's so obvious that I kicked myself after typing and retyping his message, oh, four times.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's not the message they want. It's his IM response. (Yeah, really.)

Thanks everyone. I feel like such an idiot - I was overthinking things again. I figured we were to go to the video, and type in his message. I typed it over and over again changing the capitalization, including his name, without his name, etc.

That's ok...we've all done it. Go for the obvious first...

You can always do the mail-in thing a few times for what is it, 32? 35 sighting points each? I would, but.. just reading the detailed game rules gives me a migraine. Urgh.

To enter the Sightings Sweepstakes by mail without Game play, legibly hand-print your first and last name, complete home address (including street address, city, state/province and zip code/postal code), date of birth, telephone number (including area code), email address and the surveillance code name "Sighting Mission" on a postcard (no larger than 6" x 8") and mail, with proper postage affixed to: The Ultimate Search for Bourne with Google, P.O. Box 10301, Burbank, CA 91510 ("Sightings Mail Entry"). Each Sightings Mail Entry submitted will receive thirty-two (32) surveillance points (the maximum number of points obtainable by Game play) equaling one (1) Entry into the Sightings Sweepstakes.

Heres the bit about the mailing. I'm not positive, but I think it's an "either/or" thing, and this is just for people who didn't want to play the game at all, but want a chance at winning some loot. I guess it doesn't specifically say that though, so I could be wrong, can't hurt to send a postcard.

From what i read of the rules if you send in a postcard you get the maximum number of sighting points to your account (if you have one), and you can only send in 1 postcard per person. Also, SHHHHH don't tell too many people (less people=greater chances :p )

Got today's clue. I am going to send in my postcard too - no way I can get enough sightings (was up to 14 before today).

The game accomplished their goals - I can't wait to go see the movie now.

It's because I wanted to see the movie I played the game Smile

Even with all the original problems and the simplicity of the clues, it's been fun, a nice morning ritual.

So what do you think the odds are for winning. The YT video yesterday has been viewed just over 7k times. I reckon that most people viewed it twice? So between 3-4000 people playing in the English speaking countries. That's not too bad odds (better than the lottery anyway)
