My first instinct when I saw the junk DNA was to do base pairing to the entire thing. So far, I've got a straight A-T G-C translation with all the extra and missing spaces from the original document, an A-U G-C translation (assuming the possibility of RNA coding) with all the extra and missing spaces from the original, as well as both of those translations with all the missing spaces replaced, and the extra spaces deleted (leaving one space between each letter. I will be working with the division of the smaller and larger letters soon. I've also put all of my results into the DNA decoding tool that Shadaraman posted earlier, and, as far as I can tell, yielded nothing of any consequence.

Posting all of those would take up quite a bit of room, but if the need arises, I will do so.


Another idea that I haven't had the time to work on is only considering the bases found between start (AUG) and stop (UAG, UGA, UAA) codons.

Hello im new to all this arg stuff so i thought i would jump in on this it begin still fresh.I doubt this will help any but its the review of the book that this game relates too. Editorial Reviews

Take any two numbers, and the sum would be the third. Interesting...13+21=34, 55+89=144, 0+1=1....What does it mean!?

If you replace the duplicated numbers with the missing numbers, it makes a more perfect grid. If you replace the 1st 6 with 64, the 1st 8 with 57, the 1st 32 with 33, and the 2nd 38 with 39 (unless my math is wrong, it was never my strong suit), all columns and rows add up to 260.

Ooh, thanks for that! It was getting late when I posted that and I was tired of numbers Smile

Also, the Mayan Calendar is a 260 day calendar...

After a cycle of 59 Mayan years, the solar year and the Mayan year come together. Fifty-nine 260 day years equals a period of 42 solar years, of 365.242 days.
