I really don't think calling Film LA is a good idea... nor a helpful one. They'll probably just tell you they can't help. For you new guys, we here at unfiction call that OOG (out of game).

Keep thinking though!

Having mentioned the zoom function button, that doesn't really work. I thought I'd found something when I was looking through some Ethan Haas-related blogs (busted - these are NOT related to 01-18-0Cool and when I hit zoom function on 01-18-08.com I would get the blog feed of the blog I'd been looking at.

I don't know why it did that, but it changed with whatever blog I was looking at in another tab.

Right now, I'm not looking at ANY blog, and I get the normal zoom function of the site.

I think someone should debunk the different layers of the .swf and figure out the entire size of the donkey sprite, it isn't normal. I think there's something hidden behind the visible layers of the flash, but there's something even more odd about this situation in the first place.

Whenever an entire website is made in flash, the links to the different pages lead to different pages WITHIN the flash - the Slusho site has completely different web pages with completely different flashes.

This could easily mean that there is something completely unique to each flash page beyond symbolism right down the coding of the application.

I've been wondering that too. Unless someone was able to read the word "Slusho" on that guys shirt, as opposed to just recognising the logo from the homepage, theres no way anyone could have found the site based on the trailer alone?

You can make it out fairly easily in the 1080p trailer. Typing slusho.com into a browser takes you straight to slusho.jp

Slusho - you know for every post you made that was crap you could've contributed something helpful. I don't think anyone here actually took you seriously, let alone believed you had anything to do with the slusho site either way....namely because it's Japanese/English, not 15 year old slang, and because this trail isn't handed over so easily that a slusho creator would end up here trying to help, given the level of SECRECY involved in the whole project, and mostly because slusho didn't create the site...if anyone, it was Satoshi. Slusho is the name of a drink. Not the creator. Pay attention.

PS I see the daycare center let out early this morning....so much for the 13 page surge of bs getting in the way of a focused discussion...

----------

Grym - is there anything you can do with the 1-18 site? Several of us have pointed out that for all intents and purposes, there should be no reason to make those images movable, let alone rotate if this wasn't relevant somehow. It was pointed out awhile ago that it's a random script that makes them come up in different positions on each reload, and each copy (that if you right click/copy another pair will come up under the top in a different arrangment). Moving the photos around the page doesn't seem to produce much so what would be the point?

We are missing something with those two photos - why rotate them? Move them? To where?

I even wondered if the number of rotations might be a clue. I can't do it because I start hallucinating looking too closely (I did try) but if you count the number of ticks in the rotation per minute and figure out how long it takes a photo to make it back around to its original position then....then who the hell knows....but maybe?

Please try to check out the stuff on 1-18.

Thanks!!

EDIT

Here's the pic from the trailer - you can see it pretty clearly....

Looking at the trailer frame fer frame i found a partcial phone number in the scene right before the statue of liberty head gets hurled

##6-5535 its right under the textile sign.

and a license plate

ABZ-3293 - New York

We already know the location of Rob's apartment. I mean, the statue's head flying down into the street was the biggest giveaway.

I really don't see what knowing a phone number and license plate is going to give you.

The license plate is most likely a fake (if anything) in the same sense that most phone numbers seen/spoken in movies are 555-555-XXXX numbers.

food for thought

sometimes it's helpful to share little thoughts to see if it sparks ideas with someone else so...

not sure if either of these things are useful but:

1 + 1 + 8 + 0 + 8 = 18 (nice and symmetrical, innit?).

12:01am & 12:36am are also 00:01 & 00:36 in 24-hr time.

00:36 / 2 = .... guess what?

yep, 18.

most likely complete nonsense... but you never know with these things.

On a different note: the link I had to the second trailer, with the two monoliths hitting a car, has been removed. Typing this is, I realise we havent talked about that trailer at all here, and suddenly Im not even sure its been mentioned.
Does anyone know where I can find it, or where it originated?

Sorry for quoting myself, but it turns out Paramount Pictures had this trailer removed from Youtube aswell.

Did anyone else see it?

I contacted the flickr account who took owns the photo of the Slusho shoot notice. He doesn't have any more related photos, but he pointed me in the direction of a friend who took some shots and has yet to upload them. Let's hope he gets to it before someone from Paramount hits him with a CAD.

I saw the second trailer, but where did it come from?

Anyways, at first glance, they seem to come out of nowhere, but if you go back to the beginning of the trailer, you can clearly see that the thing that fell on the car was already there.

Actually, it would seem that nobody at all is paying attention to my posts. I live in New York and the area filmed, so far in my searches, does NOT match up with a IRL location, because the layout of the buildings and that fact that some of them do not even exist. Unless there was an actual street address or (heaven forbid) a street sign available ANYWHERE in the trailer, we do NOT in fact know where the apartment is located. My best bet, based on the large glowing building in the background, would be near Madison Park, and not the actual street address of "401 Broadway" which is on Canal in Soho.

I feel like this thread would have been a lot more productive if guests weren't allowed to post Razz (just my 2 cents). Then we never would've gotten Ethan Haas'd in the first place!

Looking through the website w/ my limited (1st year) knowledge of Japanese, nothing seems out of the ordinary except for the ridiculous attempt at sounding like a silly Japanese person. It is of course worth noting that the Japanese have always had a fearful respect for the ocean, always believing it to be inhabited by spirits and monsters.

I just thought of something... tried it... not sure what to think, but maybe someone can use it as a jumping off point.

I took one of the phrases from the Slusho! site (because they look/sound like bad translations) and put them into babelfish and got the Japanese translation, then took that and retranslated it back to English-

I used:
Making Fresh Improvements Just for You

and got back:
New improvement because of you is made fair

Now of course this one doesn't make much sense... but it might workd with some of the other phrases??

argh! who know... anyone got a straw... I can grasp
