that's a standard method to detect and embed a flashplayer and flash movie.

Haas has nothing to do with Cloverfield as confirmed by JJ Abrams' statement to AICN. And the 401 Broadway lead has already been covered somewhere in this thread, which you can use the search feature to find.

the search on these forums is lousy... so lousy that i don't feel right bitching at people who have posted things for the 500th time (i.e. picture or 401 broadway/license plate).

when i first got involved i waded through 50 pages, but i won't expect anyone to wade through over 100...

there has to be a better way.

sorry my bad. I found out about the Haas not being connected. Flame shield on lol but what about that fridge url i think it says something with a dot com after it. Even the AICN said there were more sites to be found....

First, the search for a term like "401 Broadway" works just fine for me.

Second, can you scrunch really long obnoxious URLs with something like http://www.tinyurl.com ?

the trail ends at slusho, there has been no headway at all from since discovering the site. I think its time to go back to the trailer and look for clues from there

Tackled earlier.

It says "Exit to Mystery St.". It's a reproduction of a sign that was at the New Orleans Fairgrounds, which has an exit to a street of the same name.

Nah...it's a slog going through a hundred pages every time you find something that looks new.

I'm trying, off-site, to build something that'll help with that, but it's a daunting process and one that I only have a small amount of time to work on each day.

I don't know if this is significant i posted it at several other websites, don't know if it's been posted before BUT

the rooftop scene when they are looking at the explosion near the woolworth there is a smaller explosion off to the right not connected to the bigger one *hinting more then 1 monster perhaps?*

Also what struck me as odd was when they are running into the street there is a girl with a red jacket that says Switzerland *at least thats how it looks* not only that but it seems illuminated is what caught my eye. That is my nerdness for right now, feel free to shoot it down if it's insignificant.

Re: Photo "ticking" on 1-18-08.com

As someone who has messed around in Flash a lot, I think the ticking on the images is just an effect of the "physics" simulation they have- meaning the way they coded the ability to throw them and turn them. Especially when simulating momentum and friction, you can get phantom movement. I don't think it's significant, just a li'l buggy. Very Happy
You're preaching to the choir here... I put forth this theory several pages back. I'm almost completely convinced that this is what's happening.

Notice that the pictures don't tick whatsoever until you try to move them. The friction coding slows the pictures down, but it's buggy, and sometimes they continue moving in unpredictable ways.

You see it all the time in various software programs and games... Like a bouncing ball that never seems to come to a complete stop - just keeps spinning, rolling, etc, reallly really slowly.

If you watch closely, the pictures will only tick in the direction that you've just moved them in. You can also stop the pictures from ticking completely by clicking on them and holding your mouse still, then letting go of the button. They only move/tick if you give them some initial momentum/rotation in a particular direction.

It's nothing more than cutting corners on the programming of the flash, imo. Not that they're lazy, just that it's so unimportant that they didn't bother to code in a "full stop" section of code to prevent this buggy ticking movement.
