 		BREAKING NEWS! Eh, sort of...
Odd news...
I was at work talking about this and one of my co-workers spoke up and said, "I saw it too!". To which I thought he went to see transformers. I asked if he saw it, but then here's the clincher: He didn't. He saw it at another film. I was too interested in the fact that he saw NOT before the film OR online, so I forgot to ask which film. I will ask him tomorrow and let people know which film.

Uberg nailed it....despite mentioning Ethan Haas at all....


Unless they provide some indisputable proof of affiliation, take them all with a massive grain of salt.

That's what I am looking for. Where is the indisputable proof of affiliation that Ethan Haas puzzle site has any relation to the trailer whatsoever. Massive grain of salt is what I'm taking this with, while the game/video/forumsphere seems to be running off the road accepting Ethan Haas is related somehow without even questioning from whence it came or what that affiliation proof is in game.


The only thing that is evidence of is that Paramount - for any number of reasons - didn't want the video on YT. If P owned both sets there's not any issue, but that doesn't mean the trailer and Ethan Haas have any inherent connection.

If you're gonna claim this is all based on what Paramount did then others can just as easily use the same basis and suggest this is entirely Lost related because Abrams is producing it and they used Henry Kelvin in the WHOIS info....and that Spielberg is in on it...and that this is directly related to Sectorseven because both sites use the same WHOIS info ergo this is related directly to Transformers and they're ALL related ingame because Paramount is behind all of it.

And then you'd have to justify why Ethan Haas shows none of the above in its WHOIS info...so why, if this is all related to this extent, didn't Pike show up on the WHOIS for Ethan sites if the reference to Pike was so irrelevant to the link?


I would propose, not that the powers that be would listen, that the Ethan trail/story had its own separate section until such a time as it's definitively linked INGAME and related to 1-18 at all. Because so far, no matter how involved the Ethan story gets, it doesn't lead you back to 1-18 either way.

As of now we have the two photos on 1-18 site and they rotate and you can move them around. I can see the timestamp being more sequential in nature, least that's what it suggests to me. The scene is directly from the party so it's directly related to the trailer and that story, and no matter how you swirl the images, it doesn't lead you to Ethan Haas one way or the other.

So for me, they're not related at this point in time. I am not at all against following that trail and if it later merges with 1-18 then excellent, there's finally a bridge we would've also gotten to anyway eventually had it not been injected arbitrarily. I would suggest keeping them separate until this has been actually established beyond speculation.


Why are the images moving? Why do we have ability to manipulate the photos? Why is there a half hour jump in the timestamp?

 		Hi people, first posting here. On Cloverfield. If you go to www.ethanhaaswaswrong.blogspot.com and see the person posting about Chtulu his name is Abdul Alzred now, go to myspace like I did and do a search on that person go to the second page and go to the bottom you find this person, www.myspace.com/bloodiedbones The last log in is June 4, 2007 one month before the trailer was released. The image which is startling is the Cthulu itself. Now, I looked into it some more on Wikipedia because Bloodied Bones sounded vaguly familiar. On Wikipedia I found "Bloody" Bones which is an urban legend about two monster or Hobgoblins as they are called on that page, one rewards good children and the other punishes bad children. I think I've might have looked into it a little too much but it kinda makes sense with this biblical stuff on Ethan Haas.

...and that's great for the Ethan trail.

But there are no puzzles to solve per se on the 1-18 site, which is why most of us showed up in this 1-18 thread to begin with, from seeing the trailer. So solve puzzles on another site but that doesn't clear up anything for what's up with the 1-18 site.

It seems more to me that the time spent on Ethan Haas, assuming it's related, is actually taking away from figuring out what's up with the 1-18 site...just because Ethan site seems to be moving along, that still doesn't have anything to do with 1-18 and the photos....which is why we're here, or why we originally showed up and participated in this thread.

Sitting tight waiting on August 1 is relevant to Ethan Haas.

Where on the 1-18 site are we clued in to keep an eye out for 8-1, or sitting tight?

There's not a bridge here.....you gotta see that too.


And again, I promise I'm not trying to argue it's not related or won't turn out to be. I'm not the only one here on the fence about Ethan having anything to do with this...so we need a more visible bridge I think.


Think about the theme for a sec.

The trailer/movie is being shot camcorder style, giving it a low budget feel, through the eyes of the group during some "live" attack in NY. All this has distinctly real person feel and nuance to it, a sense of the reality tv sort of thing.


Ethan Haas is a flash puzzle with strange symbols and a story about the prophecies and some production oriented nuance. Even the video with the apparent embedded symbols or whatever in the frames is more hi tech in nuance than camcorder style viewing of the party group under attack.

It doesn't fit, there's no mesh in styles whatsoever. It'd be like Blair Witch slamming into National Treasure or the DaVinci Code.

 		Does anyone have any theories about why the pictures can be rotated? I've been playing around with it for a long time now, but can't think of any reasons, except to make it easier for the pictures to be viewed in different directions. Also, none of the images are jpgs, just swfs. reasoning, anyone?

So far, the only thing that seems to jump out at me is that there will be others coming, and moving them around in a sequence or some sort of order will play a role.

Someone earlier mentioned getting copies, but I lost that post in the page surge.
