New site maybe?

I don't know if this has been brought up but there is this site
www.abz3293.com/
It is the plate on the car that gets hit by the Statue of Liberty's head. It could be part of the game.

So, basically, we need someone to translate the webpage?

It has been brought up several times. Please use the search function.

General consensus is that it is just a fansite.

Re: Whose Apartment, Picture Speculation, and How Approach
Nothing groundbreaking, just thoughts...

I suppose the fact that I have been utterly sucked into this makes this my first official ARG I'm participating in. Well I think I've made it through all 104 pages for now Smile. My memory isn't the greatest, but I thought I'd mention a few things I found interesting and nothing exactly groundbreaking, but eh...

First is the idea of whose apartment it is. I don't think it's THAT relevant to the story. I either go with either he shares the apartment with Slusho! Shirt Guy, or it's not his place and is JUST Slusho! Shirt Guy's. Seeing as the owner of the place obviously loves Japan, and I have friends who would fall under that category, getting a shirt for some Japanese Soft Drink company (real or imagined) would have the right amount of novelty for them to actually want to do that. Unless they're a group of Japanophiles, I'm thinking Slusho! Shirt Guy has part ownership of the place. No way you're going to setup a surprise party of that magnitude unless someone has the keys to it.

Second, in terms of the pictures on the 1-18-08.com website, some people are pointed out that Rob doesn't seem too happy and a bit restrained as people are feeding him shots which seems likely, party animal or not. The one thing I didn't see mentioned (apologies if I missed it) is no one ELSE in the picture seems to be having fun. If this was just some sort of drinking bit, I'd expect Shirt Guy (the guy feeding him drinks) would have some ridiculous smirk on his face making his buddy get all trashed. Its almost like they feel like they have to give him this stuff. Maybe it's a bit o' Slusho to give him uber powers? Razz.

And yeah, girl on the edge of that picture freaks me the HELL out.

Third, Rob obviously knows what's up. I know that's been batted around before and pretty much certain, but I haven't seen it in awhile. His reactions are definitely more of an "oh crap, this wasn't supposed to happen" than an "OMG AHH!! RUN FOR YOUR LIIIVES". I bring it up again because despite all of the evidence that points his stuff (the hand through hair gesture had to be the biggest clue), I think we need to look more into who the person he's asking for before the SOL head comes in. People have already speculated on this, and aren't quite sure what name is said (Jesse, Jensen, Jessica, Jessy, even a Cason??) but it seems odd to just throw that in the trailer and not have it be relevant. Perhaps it's one of the dude names I mentioned and that goes back to Shirt Guy. But it has to be to a principle character IMHO.

I also worry about how the majority of people are going about this, esp on the tech side. Being a geek myself, that was sort of what got me sucked in in the first place, but I think if there were any more technical clues, we would have found it by now and for future ref, looking beneath the code of things (HTML code might be decent, but decompiling flash files??) would be more to verify what we know than something Abram's team decided to toss in.

As for the picture movements, and the idea that if you turn the drinking picture right side up and link the proposed "demon" (I honestly think it's not important and we're seeing things... but then again, why would it get it's own picture?) from the two girls picture to give Rob his new demonic head, it didn't exactly "snap" in place as someone proposed it did for me. However, I noticed the picture underneath (the party picture) moves a tad when I do this, which wouldn't make sense with the rest of the behavior seeing as I'm not touching it directly.

All in all, people are trying to figure out what the movie is based on (if anything!) and I am crossing my fingers for a Cthulhu movie... and one that is NOT starring Tori Spelling. Sort of like how Voltron was debunked because Sony owned the rights, and I know jack about the movie business, would that be allowed (another Cthulhu movie with that one coming up close?). Sure, we had Deep Impact and Armageddon, but we're talking about the same character here! But there's also the possibility that the plot is completely new, which would be a bit disappointing especially with all of the ideas Smile.

I'm not a Lost fan really because it used to just frustrate the hell out of me and a lot of it seemed way too arbitrary and knowing it was a series, they could keep it going on FOREVER, but this definitely pulled me in hard. Seeing as he's crossed elements of Lost and Alias together, would it be crazy to think that those who still watch Lost should keep an eye out for potential clues about this movie? It seems almost too tempting not to!

And to that person who said the explosions reminded them of Chrono Trigger, you're a bastard Smile. I'm a CT freak and always thought Square should have made a movie on it instead of that ridiculous POS called Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. Obviously, this doesn't look like a Time Travel plot at all and Square isn't mentioned anywhere Smile.

Anyways, let's find these other sites guys! Does anyone know when the latest photo actually went online as I came on just a tad late! I have a feeling between this and the Slusho! site, the next site is staring us right in the face. Apologies if I have gone over stuff that has been gone over a billion times already. I've spent (wasted!) most of my day getting caught up on here and it seems that we've really hit a dead end! Just thought I'd toss in some thoughts Smile.

since you say this is your first ARG you should look into what these same producers did with the Lost ARG

hopefully you'll get a better understanding of why people are looking at things the way they are.

Also I went down to the area where Rob's loft is supposed to be, 401 bway and saw a sprite billboard with a URL that was confirmed ingame for the Lost project

The one Girl in the Trailer that says "Have fun in Japan" looks like Jana Ina, i guess she was Miss World.

Don't know if this could be important.

I've checked the source of 1-18-08 and slusho.jp... Both sites want exactly to know how's visiting their sites. (Google Analytics stuff).
Also the programming Style is quiet the same...

slusho.jp
Code:

      <meta>
      <title>SLUSHO!</title>
      <script></script>
   </head>

<body>

   <br>
   <strong>You need at least flash player 8 to view this properly</strong></div>

   <script>

      var so = new SWFObject('swf/index.swf', 'container', '1082px', '750px', '8.0.0', '#FFFFFF');

A bit cheesy, yes..
Processed Cheese = Website Designer?

OK -

Fist off: This is my first ARG. Never heard of ARGs until I stumbled upon all of this through the Abrams trailer and WOW am I impressed!

Second: Yes, I have actually read all 125 pages of this thread and I think there is a lot left to do and I am all about helping.

Third: I know most folks are considering Processed Cheese Resume OOG, (even though it's BAD ASS, has tons of possible links to the game but I agree it's a resume and OOG) but IMO he could at least be part of the graphics/web design team for Abrams' Slusho site. Perhaps for kicks (and because he is SO devoted to that kid of his and wants her to have something to look back on when she's older) he threw in the cheese and the donkey mittens as his own personal signature?

Fourth: I figured if I have stayed up for 3 nights lurking and reading I might as well have one stretch here too! Anyone else find it odd that one of his Mix CD covers features a man with an octopus-like head?

OK - The BF swears he's not speaking to me if I don't get in bed by 4AM/Central tonight!

Yeah i saw that too the album with the squid headed guy, i thought it looked pretty cool, but anyway i just read this and it is curious to say the least

Quote:
I would look towards that number 63 degress... on the trailer's 'news report'
You guys know, in the year 63 BC -- the Romans invaded and took over Israel (Judea) as a client kingdom.... and the bible verse quoted from the date
of the movie is from Romans 1:18

Also check out www.anti-christ.com it was created in 1998 so it puzzles me as to how it fits into what going on today Shocked
