The hot air balloon that was revealed yesterday has a pattern of colors on it. I wonder if we look at numbers with color backgrounds, we'll find a number sequence from this that could be of use.

I must have missed the hot air balloon somewhere. Link?

Analytics, Sponsors, Life Has Meaning, and other brain farts

Just a small note to people. Google Analytics codes are not rare on the web nowadays so I don't think finding a site with Analytics codes would constitute proof that a site is in-game. It might be used as one part of a fingerprint perhaps (as designers tend to do things similarly), but not the whole picture. We can look at how code is written, etc... especially any peculiarities... I haven't spotted anything big yet though.

Then again, whose to say there's only one designer? If I was doing an ARG and I had the resources Abrams had, I'd probably say things like "this site should look really amateur, YOU, use Frontpage, YOU, make this site look more profesh..." etc...

The Sublymonal Billboard at the location of 401 I think is definitely a clue to look into as we know Sprite has had a hand in Abrams stuff in the past. I'm poking around the site. Anyone have an account? Want to try one of our numbers or words as a Code?

Anyone else know how we can track down if there are any other sponsors?

As for the link to the guy who made a piece with the Life Has Meaning stamp, as popular as it is, could the content of the picture be a callback to the pictures of the girls on the site? Seeing as no one has any real theories on what that second picture could mean, that might be the clue?

Then again, it could be nothing and designed to make us lose our minds Smile.

Great ideas, I think, from people who are looking for more context to the donkey and fish (fish out of water, great)... and I even thought the whole Digimon idea was interesting (and it doesn't mean it has to be a Digimon movie, I kind of hope not... but the links to Cthulhu and Dagon are what I want to hear Razz).

Also, for Evan Long, I don't think it's not unlikely that the blog existed before but he decided to help out Abrams on this. There are really odd links as well as language. I don't know any kid or parent or parent posing as a kid to write the way it shows up on that blog! But also, people seeing things like the Cthulhu-like monster on an album cover and stuff... that's making a link according to something we're not even sure of yet! Although tempting, we can't connect something purely because it vibes with what we want.

Then again, that album WAS #18 Razz.

On the person who thought one of the girls was Miss World or something, perhaps it is a clue. Maybe we should try to find out who all of the other people are. I personally want to know who "Best Night Ever" guy is. The fact that Mr. Yellowcard is in it, it might mean other people might be in it who are part of a clue... There seems to be a considerable amount of pause from "Awesome" girl...

Also, I think it's pretty much consensus that Rob knows what's up... maybe Slusho! Shirt Guy does too?

So I've been playing around on the Slusho site, trying different URLs to see if something's hidden. There's no store.html, flavors.html, or anything else referenced by buttons. I even thought that they might have flash files up, but not displayed, but none of those went either. Anyone else have any other ideas here?

this is probably totally unrelated, but I just got an email from www.rrobles.com at my work email. Why is this significant? Because I don't use this email for anything but work (meaning local intranet addresses), until a few days ago when I emailed the various email addresses that are part of this ARG.
The email was from a nonsensical string of characters, qodadimxsjk, which might be an anagram, or something to do with that vowelless masonic alphabet.

The entire body of the email was: "F"

When I tried to reply, I got an "unable to deliver" error.

The only thing connected to slusho.jp that we haven't explored is the ftp.slusho.jp. It seems highly unlikely they would leave this open to us to hammer on unless we were supposed to, especially since one of us might get a wild hair and get a wardialer program to try and brute force it.

Here are two things that bother me.

When Rob walks into the apartment, someone is seen taking a picture of him. When the flash goes off, something above the door is illuminated, but I can't quite make out what it says.

here

Also, the face on the stamp on the giant post-card, under the "We'll Miss You sign" is also seen on the fridge.

here

Any ideas?

All I get from that is a "forbidden" message. However, if we're looking for passwords...well, they asked us to tell them we were happy. IAMHAPPY?

asian woman in trailer
sitting, alone, maybe on phone?

at 1:31 of the trailer, see pic, who is that sitting on the left, and why is she the only person at the happy time of the evening, just sitting? she also seems to be dressed business casual, not for a party. possibly asian, continueing the japanese theme?

at work, don't have all the toys, this is kinda a bad pic, but maybe somebody more savy than me could check it out?

any ideas?

This is sadly true.

However, what are we supposed to do?

Have patience? Pfffft Screwy

Gerdef

P.S. Sadly, I think we do have to wait. Even with the slusho update, we're still going in circles. We need a concrete lead.

The fact that the same weird face shows up twice could mean something. Maybe you should post those pictures in the trailer/pc analysis thread. =]

At 1:31 they're on the street getting a Statue of Liberty head thrown at them. I've watched the trailer a few more times and I don't see any Asian woman sitting, so not sure what you're talking about.
