I'll go with the insane part.

I'm thinking that you hadn't read any of my posts (maybe because they weren't exploding with positive energy?"). Here's what they all come down to.

Running off in random directions may look good, but it doesn't actually accomplish anything. We're following a trail left by someone who actually knows where the trail goes. If we're goign to get any farther down the trail, we need to at least attempt to stick to the clues we've been given, not invent our own clues to follow. They may look like fun and all, but the folks behind this have no idea what the heck we're talking about. They can't put any more clues down a road that only we know we're following.

Uhg... I lost half my post.

What I lost was...

The movie isn't out for 6 months. We're only going to be fed hints and clues about what the back story and the myth of the monster is. We won't see it until the movie is out. The only people who really know what it looks like is the creators and the CG/SFX house.

I think the real clues are within the Slusho site and in the trailer... NOT in the numbers on the photos or perceived numbers in the screen captures of the trailer. Numbers are just too vague and uninteresting to be the hints to chase. The hints will be buried in the sites themselves and almost too obvious.

And we'll only get the clues when they're ready for the next phase.

After reading that post about what clues to look for, I noticed something that I missed before. At 38 seconds into the trailer you first hear the "beast or whatever it is". Listening to it over and over through headphones it sounds like its not just a noise but maybe it's saying something. It doesn't sound like english, but it sounds like it is saying "nev eye coo" or ... "No ri ko" ....

Noriko??? As in the Noriko from slusho.jp??

Is anyone else hearing this or am I overanalyzing this sound?

Thats how you solve a puzzle like this.

No, it isn't. Not really.

Imagine you have a couple puzzle pieces in front of you and you and your friends want to put it together. You need more pieces, so you start searching everywhere for them. You find a few things that look like pieces, but you also find a shoe (because some of the pieces are brown and the shoe is brown, too!), a ham sandwich (because pressed ham is put together from other scraps of ham, like a puzzle!), and a jigsaw (jigsaw - jigsaw puzzle! Get the connection!).

Now you know that the shoe, the sandwich, and the jigsaw don't really belong to the puzzle. Sure, it may be fun talking about the process by which pressed ham arrives to you in sandwich form, but it doesn't actually get you closer to putting the pieces you have together.

That's what all the crazy speculation really is. It's finding shoes and sandwiches when what you need are pieces and perhaps a key as to how the pieces fit together.
Versus not saying something in case it seems stupid. Rolling Eyes

I saw someone else saying they heard "R'lyeh", as in Cthulhu's place. I dunno, I think it's just a moan-y sound. It sounds identical to the rest of the "roar", just higher-pitched. If you notice, there are three distinct tones in the first "roar": high-low-medium. The others all start out high and slide to low. Whatever it is, though, it's creepy as hell.

Edit: On a re-listen I can hear four distinct tones in the first roar now... it almost sounds like three tones - pause - fourth tone.

Sound

Listen to the sound at 0:38...

Then go to http://www.whalesounds.com/home/index.html and listen to "Warbling" and "Groaning".

Sounds similar. Also Slusho! does mention Whales in it's history.

I was just wondering if anyone has found any subsantial stuff. I know about Slusho and everything, but it seems like we have gotten nowhere.

BTW: I emailed that Processed Cheese guy, but the email adress doesn't exist.

@Hidoku: That oven mit, is Donkey Mittens and the cheese is Processed Cheese. I have a theory that a guy going under the alias of Processed Cheese made the Slusho website, but I haven't gone anywhere with it.

That's because it's a crappy theory and everyone needs to leave the man alone.

Yea i dont think the processed cheese guy has anyhting to do with it, but the most obvious clue on slusho is swiss cheese from donkey and oven mitt(pot holder) from the fish. Ive tried combining the two words, other stuff but i think this is where we need to focus since it is the most blatant clue on the site...

http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Star_Trek:_The_Next_Generation_Technical_Manual

Summary

As said by the authors, "this is the first technical manual done by the folks who actually work on Star Trek". Written by Michael Okuda and Rick Sternbach, the Technical Manual strives to be the official "bible" on all technology matters concerning the Enterprise-D and its attached equipment, from replicators to tricorders. It also contains behind-the-scenes trivia in a series of footnotes placed throughout the text.

On pp. 44-45, it is stated that guidance and navigation research is conducted by a cetacean crew of twelve Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus) and Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus gilli), overseen by two Takaya's Whales (Orcinus orca takayai).

The "Takaya's Whale" is not a real whale, but a homage to a fictional character named Noriko Takaya by the author and technical consultant Rick Sternbach.

Interesting... a Star Trek reference.. JJ Abrams is known to be working on a Star Trek project...

Found concept art for Alpha Omega

I found concept art for the Alpha Omega RPG game that Mindstorm labs is doing.

http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=73566

Post #10 on the thread. The artist is from Canada too. I wasn't sure that it was legit I saw actual work from behind the scenes. It seems a bit all over the place... genetic freak animals, winged gods in armor and space ships and modern cities.

I thought the Mindstorm Lab could be a ruse... but it seems legit.

Think Cthulhu

On slusho.jp, the horse is thinking of an oven mitt and the fish was thinking of cheese

Oven mitt: Glove
Cheese: Kraft

Lovecraft... :drool
