 		Most people are pretty convinced there was a link, goldqmedia, the problem is we can't find the link 'in game' - there's nothing that ACTUALLY ties the two websites (or series of websites) together, i.e. van does not talk about 1/18/08 and the 1/18/08 site does not talk of ethan haas. So, if this is a 'game', it's like we havn't had the clues to lead to a correct conclusion.

One reporter gathered up several eye witness accounts on that night and presented a hard ball question at the mayor and this was what he said: "The trail of light/flame thing was just some kind of lights from another building near-by. It did not fell from the sky and it was not the cause of the destruction of the units."

OK, what about the (New York?) skyline being on fire after the second or third puzzle? and the Tucows thing, and the Videos taken down.

that is evidence enough for me, I'm pretty sure Paramount will do something that will make everyone not doubt this in or around august 1st.

 		Hi, I'm sorta new to this whole ARG/viral marketing thing I'm not sure what to label 1-18-08.com and the Ethan Haas sites right now. However I have been following this kind of closely. I don't know if this is a repeat yet or nto but I just received an e-mail from Van Mantra. I wanted to test to see if I'd get a response different from the automatic one I simply sent him a message that read, "We are here, we are waiting." The response I got was this

 		EHWR connection to 1-18-08
The first reference I recall seeing to the EHWR site was a message posted in this forum (it's on the third page of this thread), indicating that the site was related. The message was posted by someone (rather suspiciously...) called "notethanhaas". I suspect a plant....

And, again, goldqmedina - almost nobody really doubts that they are connected - but if this is an alternate reality game, i.e. what these forums are designed to handle, there has to be something *in game* to relate the two websites together. i.e., something at 1-18-08 that LEADS US *logically* to the ethan haas websites, not by just googling "1 18 08" and finding news reports claiming that the ethan haas websites are related.

i got that message too skitzophr3ak, I think it's an auto message designed for people that still can't solve the puzzles with his first set of hints, and ask for more help - which is why he provides even more explicit clues to solving the 2nd puzzle.

Not buying the new blogspot stuff. The mayor thing was just added this afternoon (july 7th). But my biggest problem is the fact Van is apparently somewhere in the now or near future as he is looking for help via the EHWR site. Van talks about him like he's dead and lived a long time ago (I thought they were just stories). Also EHWW attacks Van stating the writings of Van's prophet (Ethan) were the rantings of a mad man. Again alluding to his passing. I could be greatly over exagerating but my 2 cents.

I did email Van again about some things but waiting for reply before i post (want to make sure not oog).

The first 1-18 picture are not the same person. One is definitely more darkly skinned than the other also the eyes do not line up (unless she has a lazy eye). I don't think the eyebrows match quite right either, but isn't enough evidence to conclude one way or the other.

I would like somene (i might try later) to take the pictures of the girl on right (on both shots) and try to line them up. I know they will not be facing the same direction nor have the same look, but might help us verify if same girl. Also, just for fun, someone take out all the black and see what's left have a weird hunch, may be nothing.

ok maybe nothing but here's some stuff i found....
i googled new york arson april 2006
i got new york times articles and says something about the greenpoint terminal fires
(and mentions a golden retriever, which, if you have been following this, is the pet ethan haas had on the show "the class")

then i googled the greenpoint terminal fires and read this: http://www.numberonehitsong.com/archives/002298.php

so---the fire was a mystery as far as i can tell now and it was a massive 10 alarm fire that started at 6am (in his blog entry he says he awakes and it is morning)
i dug a wee bit deeper to see if it was raining on either 5-1 or 5-2 /06 and it wasn't

it says it was an apartment fire-there WERE residents living at the greenpoint terminal-but-a lot of it was abandoned buildings

wondering: brooklyn look familiar/represented in the 1-18 trailer?


find the mayor???

 		Not much to add but...
The whole thing
I've been introduced to this website with all the speculations about eon8.com a few months ago. I'm now back to follow the steps taken towards learning what this (1-18-08.com, EHWR,...) is; a viral marketing campaign working pretty well...

If this could be any help, I went to see Transformers on Wednesday, and, since I live in Canada (that's my guess), I was not able to see the trailer that brought all of you together here. (Saw it on Youtube though...)

Whatever happens, I guess I'll be at the movie theater on the 18th of January 2008...
