The theory of a leviathan is not bad. In fact: many cultures have different names for a monster like this, but it all leads to a dragon that comes out of the sea.

Thing is, if we can believe any of this insider info, that the movie is based on an original idea from the mind of JJ Abrams. (original idea in fiction...heh...that in itself is funny) Leviathan, and Behemoth mentioned earlier by another poster, have already been made into movies. I think we need to look in another direction.

Did you even SEE the movie Leviathan? Wink

And I like the idea of some sort of dragon, or multiple dragons... That does explain the fireballs.

It also does explain the Statue of Liberty. After all, a dragon doesn't have to be 100' tall to tear her head off when he can FLY.

I'm running the sounds through audio analysis and manipulation now. I don't think there's much there other than, whatever it is, it sounds angry.

Mystery St.

Another thing that might be interesting is the 1958 movie, "The Blob".

The street where the mob is running out of the theatre is named "Mystery Street".

Just something that might have something to do with the Exit Mystery Street labels on the fridge.

Perhaps...though I'd never actually admit to it. Smile

Trademark

Also.. I'm not familiar with browsing the Japanese and US trademark sites, but perhaps.. looking for trademark info in regard to the Slusho! theme may be in order.

In the US, there's no real need to register a trademark. You're protected by tacking on the "TM" after it, even if it is a made up name.

Switzerland.

At the point in the trailer where the guys says, "I saw it! It's alive! It's huge!" -- there is a girl walking into Rob and the 2 girls with what appears to be a sportsjacket with the word "Switzerland" on the back.

Considering there is a reference to a fish thinking of Swiss cheese on the the Slusho! site, there may be a connection.

According to that page the street WAS a MYSTERY until he figured it out:

However, thanks to Howard Fishlove, who was the key grip and slater for the original film, the location was identified as 4th & Main Street in Royersford. I'd also like to thank Dave Lentz, who visited the location and sent me these pictures.

The right side looked like a map of Manhattan. Can't go look at it right now because my machine's busy converting the 1080HD in to some usable form ("It's huge!").

Possible clue, or just a Flash oddity?
Is this anything?

Now, I'm not sure if this is a potential lead or not, but on the 1-18-08 site, if you hit "tab" while clicked inside of the Flash, a big yellow link box is overlayed over one of the pictures. Hitting tab multiple times scrolls through each picture in the order that they were added. Hitting the "enter" key does one of two things - either the picture selected gets brought to the front of the stack of photos, or the picture moves (if you've moved the picture already prior to this). I have limited knowledge of Flash, so I'm not sure if this is just the .swf acting weird, or if this was intentional. Furthermore, if this is, in fact, intentional by the creators of the site, I have a feeling that there might be some sort of code involved with selecting pictures in some sort of order and typing something in particular when it's selected... but that might very well just be wishful thinking. In any case, can any of y'all with more technical knowledge tell me if this might be a possibility to further our progress with the mystery of 1-18-08? I'd really like to know if I've stumbled across something that could help us.

The coordinates of "The Bloop" are strikingly close to the alleged position of R'yleh.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R'lyeh

Quote:
"Lovecraft said that R'lyeh is located at 47°9′S, 126°43′W in the southern Pacific Ocean.[4] August Derleth, however, placed R'lyeh at 49°51′S, 128°34′W in his own writings"
