There was a great story, perhaps grown apocryphal at this point.

Barry Gordy, the guy who ran Motown during its glory years, used to have this thing he did. When his producers would bring a record to him and tell him it was done, he would tell them to go find some folks to get their opinion. They'd have to ask the people one question: if they were starving and had only one dollar, would they buy a sandwich or that record. If the answer was a sandwich, the producers had to take the record back and work on it more.

That's how Motown produced so many great albums back in the day. Nothing went out until it was nigh-perfect in every way they could make it.

Unlike this game which, I think, is showing me some really big flaws. Sad

you're right I'm sorry. I jsut wanted to inject a little humor to relieve the tension/fustration buildup we've been experienceing here.

ok back to work folks nothing to see here.

I'm still convinced they are doing this in very much the way the Lost experience was done. but scaled to that of a 2 hour movie instead of a show thats been running 3 years with 50 hours of screen time.

I also believe the source for that news9 article was JJ himself. the reason being he only talked about sites we've discovered, gave nothing new all he did was point at things we've already been looking at and say there's more.

Quote:
The source told Kirk the biggest clue of the trailer is in the line: "I saw it, it's alive, it's huge."

I decided to run with that and tried
isawit.com
itsalive.com
itshuge.com
and
Isawititsaliveitshuge.com

(I also tried all these with the tld .jp)

no bueno

(isawit.com is some retarded site about crap that I have no clue about but its definitely not related, the rest were all 404)

Quote:
The official Web site is www.1-18-08.com, but the source tells Kirk that apparently a Japanese-style Web site, www.slusho.jp, has lots of clues yet undiscovered by the rabid fans who have been scouring the Internet for hints.

how could they possibly know this? they only two ways I can think of are,
1) the clues lead to another site, which has had 0 hits as of the time of that interview. or

2) the clue is something in the code, which will leave some sort of message or mark on the server, so they know it's been viewed.

any web /flash code gurus care to expand on that?

I think it's more like the site WILL have a lot of clues but the source dosen't really know what he/she is talking about.

I read that elsewhere also. Good theory. Perhaps you can track down more clues cuz I don't know anything about the Doomsday Clock.

Anotehr thing is the spy in LA said they had contructed a fake Sephora store, it could be a part of the movie, or perhaps its from a different movie, but if it is a part of our movie, then its logical to assume that Sephora is playing the game, and if they are perhaps theres a clue to be found on or under that website.

The only thing i can think of off hand is perfumes are created by mixing of chemicals, and the slusho history speaks of mixing chemicals.

I know this is probably reaching, but still worth a blurb.

I'm sure they have their IT department watching their google urchin tracker ID, which appears on both 1-18-08.com and slusho sites, and since nobody's found a third site with the tracker embedded in it (with the correct ID#, I've seen sites with different tracker#'s for unrelated sites) they conclude that nobody's solved the puzzles.

In my opinion, a puzzle should have something to it that distinguishes it as a puzzle. The Beast gave us a name to Google, which led us to a number of sites, one of which had a clear link to the "Elemental Equation Puzzle" which was pictures of classical representations of atomic elements arranged in an equation - we knew just from looking at it that it was a puzzle - sure it took some digging to get to it but there was a clear and definite route to it. If there's a puzzle on Slusho, it's about as clear as mud at midnight on a new moon.

Okay, I'll bite: we've read here on page 100-something that whales produce ambergris, which is used as an ingredient in the finest perfumes. Sephora sells perfumes, and a quick Google search referencing Sephora and Ambergris turns up this site as number 1, a musk for men made with ambergris as an ingredient. Sure, it's not game related yet, but I figure might as well bring it up since leads are thin.

Google brings up this paragraph:

"It's huge, it's deep in the waters of Crater Lake, it's older than Methuselah — and it's alive."

Ooh! Exciting!

Turns out? It's freaking moss.

J.J. Abrams, from Hell's Heart I stab at thee. For hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee...

Haha, a movie about giant moss attacking New York sounds pretty awesome.

WEll heres a puzzle that couldnt have been obvious. i bring it up cause i saw the sprite billboard up in the area of 401 broadway with that URL

http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Sublymonal.com

read this and see how hidden the code was thats not obvious stuff that says solve me. who the hell thinks to click on that thing 42 times?

anyway the site was gone acording to this wiki but it is up now saying v2.0 could it be for this movie? did anyone notice any sprite in the trailer? Do they mix slusho! with sprite to makes floats in Alias?

I know they have an IT guy watching it but im asking what sensors, what method could be in place to allow them to know that we havent found it yet, aside from a hit counter? and can we use that whatever it is to ID the clue or find the next site.

Maybe its the FTP for slusho? maybe they are watching it to see who figures out the password and logs in if so then the password would be among the medeia we've seen so far. perhaps it is mystery st, or ace2004 things like that.

I dont see any reason to have FTP access to a flash based site, when making changes you upload the new swf which contains everything, why ftp?

flash gurus please correct me if Im wrong.
