Re: cough

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but my girlfriend was checking up on that phone number for the santa monica airport weather line, and i don't have source for this but she said cloverfield is the nickname for that airport.

I checked out the above link for the whois and saw this phrase:

In hoc signo vinces

so put it in the search and got this wiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_hoc_signo_vinces

The registrant ID for Pike shows this:

Registrant ID:tuDMzcBxUiyMSpz7

and down further is another name Andy Walden

Tech ID:tuZDW0PvtfruVhyE
Tech Name:Andy Walden
Tech Organization:Andy Walden
Tech Street1:1212 Burbank Blvd
Tech Street2:
Tech Street3:
Tech City:Burbank
Tech State/Province:CA
Tech Postal Code:91503
Tech Country:US
Tech Phone:+555.5555555
Tech Phone Ext.:
Tech FAX:
Tech FAX Ext.:
Tech ****************@verisign.com

Fake phone number

Question - in my own experiences with hosts I never saw any registrant IDs of the above sort. Is this legit or is this up for decryption?

http://watch.pair.com/stuph1.html Pike/phrase link

myspace page reference - http://blog.myspace.com/163766508

- just among the first links on the search. I wasn't in digging mode, just tossing it on the table

EDIT: Re the above phone number - I did call it to see what it was, but if this is set up for the movie why would it be focused on southern california instead of NY?

Also, the 99s shows the website for 99 licensed women pilots....

If this is about the movie would all those linked sites be fake?

How else are you going to transfer the files to the server except with something like say . . File Transfer Protocol

Anotehr thing is the spy in LA said they had contructed a fake Sephora store, it could be a part of the movie, or perhaps its from a different movie, but if it is a part of our movie, then its logical to assume that Sephora is playing the game, and if they are perhaps theres a clue to be found on or under that website.

The only thing i can think of off hand is perfumes are created by mixing of chemicals, and the slusho history speaks of mixing chemicals.

I know this is probably reaching, but still worth a blurb.

Okay, I'll bite: we've read here on page 100-something that whales produce ambergris, which is used as an ingredient in the finest perfumes. Sephora sells perfumes, and a quick Google search referencing Sephora and Ambergris turns up this site as number 1, a musk for men made with ambergris as an ingredient. Sure, it's not game related yet, but I figure might as well bring it up since leads are thin.

interesting in the source, I fond the word "akamai" which is the content server for websites we know are involved according to the whois searches.

http://www.akamai.com/

however it references akamai.net which gets me nowhere.

Safe to ignore, Akamai is just a Content Delivery service.

File transfer protocol is not the only method of transfering files between computers.

This site has an FTP server that's begging to be unlocked, and i'm betting the password is on that fridge or something like that.

yeah I know that, but if they are sharing delivery services its just that much easier for them to plant an easter egg in that site.

No . . not really. That'd be like saying it's easy for me to access your computer because we both have windows.

Thank you. Smile

EDIT: Wow! Good freaking song! Reminds me of old 70s arena rock. Much better than today's endless parade of guys who sound like whinier versions of Paul Simon.

Except that when I listen to it, there's a point at which my brain inserts a really loud roaring noise...

There's tons of good music out today. Check these out, they are quite refreshing:

myspace.com/lydiavance
myspace.com/theskooners
myspace.com/headautomatica
myspace.com/lucero

enough of that. i think we're on to something with the anagrams. jj abrams is a total nerd for anagrams and numbers and the like. there's got to be something hidden in some key lines from the trailer or the slusho site. there's no way abrams would pass that up. this early on, i think its gonna be mostly semi-obvious puzzles until we get closer to comic-con and the release of the second trailer. anybody up for a hardcore anagram search?

anyway the site was gone acording to this wiki but it is up now saying v2.0 could it be for this movie?

Just a note - I did try and go to Sublymonal.com many days ago when it was first brought up and it was NOT letting me do anything.

Interesting that it is up again.

Okay, I have a little more information with a little more relevance: the name Athena Wickham, a creative executive working for Bad Robot; whom was previously an assistant to J.J. Abrams for a ton of stuff, including Alias and some horrible movie with that short guy. She's credited in the source of the bad robot website as the author (for a page with just one image on it, there sure is a lot of junk in the source) Anyways, we all know Bad Robot is producing the film, and the AICN letter to Harry Knowles from Abrams tells us that Abrams is well aware of the intimate details of the related web content, which means that Athena Wickham is also well aware of the intimate details of the webcontent, if not producing them herself. I doubt there would be any way to squeeze any information out of her for clues to the mystery, but it might provide us with a means to a backdoor, perhaps cracking the FTP login for a certain website.

Cracking FTP's and the like is almost guaranteed to be out of the scope of any 'ARG' so I would suggest against trying it.

The only thing more completely frustrating than searching a viral website for clues, is searching a viral website for clues THAT MIGHT NOT BE THERE....

... I have a bad Slusho! hangover.

ftp & akamai

Iamthequestion wrote:

It is the standard way of uploading files to a webserver though and ftp access located at ftp.slusho.jp is also a fairly standard location. Now if ganu.slusho.jp or something similar brought up an ftp login, then I think it'd be something worth spending time on.

Also, akamai are a massive content delivery network so I wouldn't use that as evidence of a link/easter egg between sites. (check the list of akamai customers if you don't believe me.)

In response to the phrase "I saw it, its alive, its huge"

People are saying why someone would say its alive if it was first believed to be death or inanimated.

What if SOL came to live or someone made him alive =] and 'we' shot it's head off.

Its not that uncommon, ghostbusters did it.
