People are saying why someone would say its alive if it was first believed to be death or inanimated.

What if SOL came to live or someone made him alive =] and 'we' shot it's head off.

Its not that uncommon, ghostbusters did it.
But they would simply have said, "Its the SOL its alive" What this line is getting at is that there is definite intelligence the huge object is displaying, almost like it is searching for something. There is almost certainly passwords or website addresses hidden in adverts or other materials relating to it.

EDIT:- MUSIC, the reason Music is becoming so horrible is because it is stagnating relying on old formats. If new styles where marketed rather than relying on "get rich quick" manufactured groups then maybee music may return to an artform.

I hear no weird sound or voice on that point in the trailer, or do you mean this roaring sound?

Anyway, what is about the first words. This "Quiet, he's coming". What if this is not a part of the sentence, the women says. Maybe it has something to do with the Monster.

But this is just speculation.

Listen carefully, 37 or 38 seconds in, a split second before the deep roar happens, there is something that almost sounds like a female synthesised voice. She / it says something that sounds like a single word. Whack the volume up high.

Voices before roar and in the street scene
Like some people in an admission to my madness I also hear the voice just before the first roar, it sounds like a womans drone and says something like Lineh, or Lynah or Linair dunno but as the roar dies down its still there like an expelling of air at the end of a moan. Almost as if the voice was commanding whatever made the roar.

Then later in the street panic scene after the line "I saw it, its alive, its huge" There is a male voice shouting "Has anyone seen Jason" 3 times I think it was, could this be a reference to Jason and the Argonauts and the sea monster the Kraken blah blah blah you can probably see where I'm going with this...

In other words a modern day remake of Jason and the Argonauts brought right up to date. ut this time its Rob and the Dreadnauts.

Well hell any speculation could be right at this point in time. Rolling Eyes

 		I uploaded a clip of just that sound, if you loop it, it does start to sound like something, but even so, I'm not sure. Definitely doesn't sound like part of the roar though.

Different button responses
On the Slusho page if you refresh the pages then pass your pointer over the buttons, on the first pass you get on icon on the left on the second pass you get on on the right. I've listed the responses below and the text bubbles not sure what they might mean...

Button 1 - (Mouseover 1) Horse - "Slusho Zoom!"
(Mouseover 2) Small Whale - "Fresh for you!!"
Button 2 - (Mouseover 1) Frog - youll come back for more slusho soon!

Another thing to consider here is the clues given to us so far appear difficult to piece together but not impossible to discover.

I see a LOT of really complex theories out there - number crunching the temperature and times in some form of numerological fact finding mission....

.. or taking instances of really hard science to task for answers - such as the methane hydride scenario. Is it viable? Sure, there's may be some value in going that route for answers but this is a movie, not a hard science lesson. The messages of the trailer are meant for an audience where nothing is going to be impossible for the average fan to discover.

It's simple puzzle-solving here.. not some complex formula of digging up info on domain names and running WHOIS searches on the owners. If Abrams hid secret clues in something related to the web-sites, then you're only targetting a small crowd of people who have the knowledge to understand how to interpret it.

My opinion is it's not as complex as a lot of people are making it out to be... instead, the answers are very well disguised.

 		Another thing to consider....

401 Broadway is exactly 3 miles as the crows flies Northeast of Liberty Island.

The Statue of Liberty Head flies in from what appears to be a southerly direction off the building with the 401 Broadway sign.

The explosion is roughly Southwest of the Woolworth building in the vicinity of the WTC grounds. (No, I'm making NO references to 9/11 here, so don't think of it. I'm using the WTC as a point of reference).

So, if the explosion is immediately Southwest of the Woolworth building (@ 1:00 in the trailer) and, by the time they all run from the roof to the street and see the Statue of Liberty head impact the 401 Broadway building (@ 1:32)...

There's a large distance between Lower Manhattan (where the explosion occurs) and the approximate position of where the head of the SOL orginates prior to impacting the 401 Broadway building.

It seems illogical if we're talking about a single creature ....

.. not so if there's more than one.


You can check out the distance and angles pulling up Google earth.

 		They've stated elsewhere that the street they're on is fictional. To the right it's Orchard Street (I've seen the Dolce Vita awning on Orchard Street using Google Maps), and to the left if's the Woolworth building which is miles away.

It's a digitally created composite street; I believe they even used a soundstage for it rather than a location shoot.

Also... why was it announced that filming was also being done in downtown LA?

... unless you wanted to show that LA was also under attack...

I'm of the opinion there is more than one creature here...

You don't have to be on location to film. If you've ever heard of/watched ER, the shots that are shown downtown, are usually on location, but for most of the shots used in the hospital, they're nowhere near Chicago.

A lot of movies do this, and it doesn't mean that they're using LA as a location IN the movie. They're just FILMING in LA.

 		While I can't give much in the way of new leads....I did try 11808 and dividing it by 6 getting 1968. Ran a search through 1968 monster movies and got the infamous "War of the Monsters". While maybe he's not doing a remake maybe this is along the lines JJ is thinking?
