Maybe. I read somewhere that the guy was getting way too many hits on his main site and not getting enough money off the stuff he tries to sell... maybe he slapped up a page to deal with it.

"Parasite" is supposedly another nickname for this movie.

I don't know French fluently, but it looks to me like pretty much the same thing.

eading through the comments I found someone's idea of this RPG called Parasite Eve being possibly involved.

Parasite Eve's been around for a long time. Heck, my computer's wallpaper is an image of her.

Don't think there's a connection. Besides, considering their last major attempt didn't go particularly well, I don't see Square doing motion pictures any time soon.
Remember the smallish shareware/freeware game called DOOM? well they made a movie of that game after teh DOOM3 Rolling Eyes

AICN "Rumor Control"

"Moriarty" posted a "Rumor Control" post about 1-18-08. It basically says that he broke all the stories about it, and that people are over analyzing everything. However, it does contain this interesting quote.

Moriarty wrote:

The film starts with a rescue crew cleaning up after the entire incident, and one of them finds a camera. They rewind the tape, press play... and the playback is the movie that unfolds.

No. The owner of that domain has created a frame in which he loads the other site. Basically, he's admitted defeat and removed his "clues". But his domain is still Out-Of-Game and should be avoided, just because it's giving him undeserved web traffic. You're still loading HIS site to load the frame -- view the HTML source to see.

Does Moriarty post in here under a pseudonym?

As stated earlier: I think that comment of his is simply an example to make a point, and has to be taken in context of the paragraph. I don't think he's saying that's exactly what happens...

Back to reality... Sound analysis!

Compare the roars to some of these:
http://www.whalesounds.com/home/index.html

Is it me or do they sound similar?

Now, I'm not saying it's a whale. I like the concept that it's water based because, in any movie with a huge beast in it, what's the most noticeable sound you hear in its presence? FOOTSTEPS!

In the trailer, there are no footsteps. None whatsoever. Three roars, that's it.

Also, the roars do sound muffled and suppressed, which could mean they have underwater/underground origin.

okay-so just to clarify-in an arg all things are a game jack if the date the page is made is after the date the game started?

so all these websites we have yet to find were already created 6 months and then some before the movie?

Whether or not the content is created and parked in place before the launch, the domain name should surely be registered in advance. That is, if they want to be smart and prevent someone else from ruining their plans and taking the domain name before them, whether deliberately or by accident.

Creating content on myspace or any of the public blogging sites is suspect for the same reasons. If you're counting on something being part of your game, you secure it in advance.

DINOSAUR people!

Discovery news says:
Ancient Whale Was T-Rex of the Sea
Neil Sands, AFP

Aug. 16, 2006 — Scientists in Australia have discovered a fossilized ancient relative of the blue whale with a fearsome razor-toothed appearance that has seen it dubbed "the T-rex of the oceans".

The 25-million-year-old whale fossil has forced scientists to rethink the evolution of baleen whales, the placid giants which feed by using fine hair-like fibres in their mouths to filter plankton from the sea.

SlushoZoom is a gamejack. It's meaningless.

There's squabbling on the AICN thread linked to Moriarty's rumor-dispelling post that makes him look less than respectable in this case; and the news post itself is of questionable valor. He blatantly outs Kirk Mongomery for plagiarism for the article about his Cloverfield "Exclusive" where he cites a "source" for the information. However, that article also specifically mentions there are more clues hidden on slusho, and that the monster's sound and the line "I saw it, it's alive, it's huge!" is the biggest trailer clue; this information is exclusive to the article. It's this claim - which can easily be dismissed as conjectured speculation based on what everyone already knows to make Kirk look like he has exclusive information - can only be confirmed over time as we slowly find out where the clues actually are.

This brings about more questions - who is Kirk Montgomery anyways? His IMDB file shows he's been in a few movies and television series; then for some reason gives up a live of moderate fame to work for some Denver NBC affiliate doing reviews and interviews. And secondly, if the story is credible, why hasn't it been passed along to other NBC affiliates, or by msnbc.com for entertainment news? Why did the news station allow this story to get published in the first place, without even trying to confirm the information given to Kirk? It's standard practice to try to confirm information like this with followup calls, and to at least acknowledge that these calls were not returned within the article. You know, to basically state without saying that it could be one big load of shit.

So, unless we actually do find out that the roar and the "it's huge!' line and the slusho site are all clues to something, we should believe that Kirk's story is just one big load of shit, culled from other news sources like AICN, with added speculation manipulated to make it look like it's from an inside source.

Moriarity first posted about this on June 21st, then on June 25th. Do the other websites' posts pre-date those dates?
