 		did anyone else happen to notice slushozoom.com?

the pics bring you to random sites but i think it has to have some meaning to it

Don't bother. Really. Seriously. slushozoom.com is a fan-made site, unofficial and out-of-game. It does NOT have to have "some meaning to it" at all, at least not within the context of this movie campaign. (If they're playing their own puzzle trail, please find another location to discuss it)

[edit to add] As far as the AIM screenname of slushozoom goes, someone has already posted here that he registered that nick and now regrets it. It, too, is out-of-game.

Hi, I've been lurking on the site since Ilovebees, I love the whole ARG thing, I'm just not very good at them and don't usually have anything to contribute. I've made it about 75% of the way through this thread, though it's a little taxing, so sorry if these two things have been suggested already. One, someone mentioned that NY1 was a real news station, maybe we should look for any ads that are out of place or fictional on their site or maybe some stories that were seeded in as a promotional deal? Also since there is a site for Slusho which was one of the filming code names then logically Cloverfield would have something to it, maybe an anagram or something like that? I dunno, just two things I've been mulling over, don't know if anyone else has already tried these avenues.

I have the old version, which definitely did not flash. Perhaps this is an update to add the brand name for better advertising purposes. Or not.

Oh, and there's this. The first icon was called a1_slusho.jpg but the new one's a .gif with the same name. There may be no more reason than you can animate a .gif but not a .jpg but who knows anymore?

If we're also looking at curiosities, the JPEG version was 4 KB in size. The .gif is 16 KB. That would seem to make sense if the animation consisted of four images, but it might not. The .gif first shows the Slusho Cup with Blue Rays of Majesty, then the Slusho logo running upwards left to right, then back to the SCwBRoM, then the logo running down to the right.

If the SCwBRoMs are two separate images, then a 16 KB file would work. But why use two separate images in an animation instead of using one image twice?

I dissected all the desktops and the icon in photoshop already. (this was posted in the pic discussion thread):

Nothing in there at all. Same with the icon. Although, I'm not sure if this is odd or not, but the icon's color mode was set to Indexed. I'm not sure what that means, I always use RGB or CMYK. I also opened the icon in Imageready. Nothing strange there either. It has one frame of the slusho cup, one frame of "Slusho!" text tilted one direction, another the other direction, and each is set to 2 seconds. Each 2 second frame is tweened with the next 2 second frame with 2 frames in between. The first frame is one of the "in between" frames, not one of the 2 second frames though.

Probably nothing.


I still think it's probably nothing.
