An alien? So what does that have to do with the Slusho history? Did they find
an alien on the ocean floor? Razz This makes no sense if it's an alien...

Oh, yes, it makes perfect sense.

Good point above on pic 4 suggesting the military was at least somewhat ready (something's been heading towards NY for many hours, underwater?).

If that's the case, perhaps the huge explosion was the military trying to blow this thing up?
It was an awfully big explosion for something we can't see above the skyline in the trailer.

*grasp grasp grasp*

My point earlier about the military is that, even if they were sitting on the tarmac ready to rock and roll, it'd still be nigh impossible for it to get that soldier in that position in an hour.

It's probably just taking artistic license.
Movies always feel the need to stretch beyond the realms of real life to make for a better movie.
My guess it most people wouldn't pick it apart like we are, they'd just accept it as reality and drool in awe of the pretty explosions and extensive artilery.

BUT, you never know.. perhaps they did see 'it' coming.
the world may never know....
or... not until Jan 18th anyways.

I don't think so. Here's my take on it.

If you look around her neck, there's clearly something else there. The "uniform" she's wearing is an EMT uniform, hence the ball cap. She's carrying something wrapped in black, with her right hand tucked under the bottom of it.

What I see is EMS running away from the scene carrying a baby in a blanket. Nothing more.

Just for the record, what is the nearest full scale military presence to New York City anyway? It's not like they have an entire batallion of Marines sitting across the Hudson ready for this sort of thing, is it? I doubt the National Guard can simply roll through Manhattan like a breeze.

The closest thing I can think of would possibly be near the United Nations building, but I wouldn't think those to be U.S. Military to begin with.

See, that explanation I accept. Sure beats the "she's an alien" theory, at least.

And, Christ people, what's with the horribly pixellated images?

It's hard to re-sample a crappy picture using just Photoshop. Gimme some good military-grade intelligence software and I swear I'll come up with something not as pixelly.

Well, it's the best you can get when you undo a motion, and possibly a Gaussian blur. There's not much data in the image to begin with, add that to the (possibly faked) jpeg noise, and once you sharpen it, you're bound to get lots of pixelation.

Four Pictures

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but let's look at the facts: We've got four pictures posted varying intervals apart. We've got four timestamps that are varying minutes apart. We've got people in the photos who vary in number, gender, race, and apparent occupation.

I'm going to have to say that, barring any clever pattern-finding in the numbers, the pictures are just teasers. There's nothing in them beyond exactly what they appear to be, people at random moments during a horrific disaster of unknown type.

Speculating on what the monster(s) might be based on the uniform the soldier is wearing, looking for lion heads in blurry backgrounds, criticizing the woman's choice of pants?? None of this is getting us anywhere.

Quit trying to guess the plot of the story. If this is an ARG, I can guarantee that what the monster looks like in the movie is going to have very little to do with it. I highly suggest that those of you who are new to ARGs take a look at the other games on this site already in progress and/or take a look at Cloudmakers to see what ARGs are all about and what "clues" are. Clues lead you somewhere. They advance the game. They don't force speculation on the monster.

Just my .02

I personally think that if this is a full blown ARG, it's going to start at ComicCon. That's the way one of the segments of the Lost Experience started, isn't it?

Most likely. They did say new information was going to come in August, right? Maybe there's really nothing out there for us to find and this is all Abrams' brand of nonsense designed to make us think there's some deep mystery. That's what he does with Lost, right? Show lots of half-complete scenes and flashes to make you wonder what actually happened because what actually happened isn't nearly as cool as what you think happened?

Well, he'll be at Comic Con next week and we'll probably get an official name. I think that's it. You might be getting confused with the ethan haas stuff.

Yep, this deal is DOA. I've lurked umpteen forums and everyone has been stuck in this ditch for over a week. This new pic has nothing notable aside from the brightness at 1:24 am. Far as EHWR, at least there's something happening there.
