I'll admit that it sounds only as convincing as the rest of the mostly half-baked ideas, concepts, and miscellaneous postulating that the rest of the ARG/movie community has done regarding the entire thing. I certainly like this guy's ideas more than a lot of the other stuff tossed around so far, but I'm still leaving it up to JJA to reveal more information this th8ursday, ebfore taking such a big leap and claiming that "I've solved the mystery of Cloverfield".

It's a pretty rehashed theory, but it does hold some merit. My only gripe is that the guy uses meaningless numbers to twist everything into the number 3. A LOT of things are divisible by three, and I think he was sort of grasping at straws.

This theory could work... but I hope not. I wouldn't want to see a movie about three monsters. I like one, unstoppable juggernaut, squashing mortals beneath its enormous, radioactive feet.

I'm really hoping for a completely original monster.

That theory has been brought about six or seven times here.

I don't find random numbers, random Bible passages and random Biblical monsters convincing. There's no logical connection in any of that.

Actually, someone sarcastically "proved" with numbers and bible verses that the giant monster was actually Jesus riding on an angry donkey. Shocked Silly I wish I could find that post...

The scary thing is, it was actually sort of convincing, in a "I'm hallucinating at 2 A.M." kind of way.

Hilarious stuff.

Timeline

If the movie was set in the near future, then we should visualize where they are right now. For example, rob is going to japan, then we could look for things that is connected to his friends planning a suprise party..etc , you get the idea?

Actually, that's not a bad idea. It would be too early for his friends to be planning a surprise party (Who plans a surprise party five months in advance?), but in theory right about now might be when Rob decides to go to Japan, starts getting vaccinations, telling friends, making plans for his apartment and so on. Deity help me for suggesting this, but maybe there's a blog out there by "Rob" detailing his decision to go to Japan? I have limited search capabilities at work, but I'll start looking for info on a guy named Rob planning on going to Japan early next year.

Hrm... It's worth a try at least.

Ah, I understand.

So reports of a fictional Rob buying airline tickets, arranging his trip, renting cars, etc.

Worth a try, I guess. I might check for some fictional airlines (like Oceanic from LOST).

I found a Microsoft Live page about a guy named Robert who is going to Japan to meet some friends and work for a year or two. Here is the link.

I know this isn't a Voltron movie but I was just watching an episode of Lost and Charlie's borther Liam gets a Voltron action figure for Christmas.

You also see a lot of biblical references throughout lost. If there are any quasi-references in the trailer it may just be due to J.J. Abrams style. Many times writers will throw in little easter eggs of sorts in their shows or movies either for inside jokes or to share a part of their lives with the audience. Could just be coincidence, could have meaning, probably wont know til comicon....

Also, Abrams did say there are other sites out there that havent been found yet, but it's possible that they are impossible to find until more information is revealed.

The coincidence is spooky. What makes you so sure this is OOG?

The posts I can see were made this july...

the green box

That green box looks a lot more like farmers in a field of green tea. Lots of green tea ads feature lush green fields and happy farmers, while rice crackers don't.
But, the box sems to have the American "Nutrition Information" label on the side, meaing it's made for export.

Of course, it doesn't matter at all if this is just a random prop of Japanese stuff selected by some intern on the shoot.

One more point, it's too blurry, but there's a chance that the box is Chinese (doesn't fit the Japan story, though) since there are no apparent hiragana or katakana, only kanji.
