Geisha Lute Visit

probably nothing at all, but Rob is going to Japan, Geisha are Japanese, and the Lute is a Japanese instrument. maybe just odd coincidence...

The Lute is not a Japanese instrument. The closest thing the Japanese have to one is either a Shamisen or a Biwa.

And for the "Behemoth, Zuz, and Curly" theory folks...can you at least make your theory fit all the known facts and not just some of them? Please?

The origins of the lute are obscure and unlikely to be Japanese: see Wiki:

Quote:
The origins of the lute are obscure. Various types of lutes were in use in ancient Egyptian, Hittite, Greek, Roman, Bulgar, Turkic, Chinese, Armenian/Cilician cultures. The Lute developed its familiar forms in Arabia, Persia, Armenia, and Byzantium in the early 7th century.

As early as the 6th century the Bulgars brought the short-necked variety of the instrument called Kobuz to the Balkans, and in the 9th century Moors brought Oud to Spain. The long-necked Pandora/Quitra had been common Mediterranean lute previously. The Quitra didn't become extinct however, but continued its evolution, its descendants being Chitarra Italiana, Chitarrone and Colascione, aside from the still surviving Kuitra of Algiers and Morocco.

In about the year 1500 many Spanish, Catalan and Portuguese lutenists adopted vihuela de mano, a viol-shaped instrument tuned like the lute, but both instruments continued in coexistence. This instrument also found its way to parts of Italy that were under Spanish domination (especially Sicily and the papal states under the Borgia pope Alexander VI who brought many Catalan musicians to Italy), where it was known as the viola da mano.

The problem with that is mostly the fact that we have almost no facts at all. We know there will be a movie coming out January 18, 2008 and it will involve some sort of catastrophe so big it rips the head off the Statue of Liberty. We know it's directed by JJ Abrams. We know the website 1-18-08.com keeps getting seemingly random pics of a party, scared people and more catastrophe. We know the website Slusho.jp is somehow connected, and it's based around an entirely unlikely history and a mystery ingredient in a mostly frozen drink. That's it. Everything else is speculation and innuendo and hypothesis. At this point, there are just too many variables to come up with X+Y=Z because we only know that there is an X and a Z and probably a Y.

I'm sorry. We really just need more information before ANY type of theory will present itself in more than just half light.

(BTW, I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes. Quite the opposite. Tensions seem to be running a little high because everyone's upset that we don't know more. I'm just saying why.)

and thats probably the closest theory to the truth that anyone has come up with as of yet.

airport codes?

Ok for some reason I am still stuck on these acronyms, and the latest discussion on Japanese airports got me wondering, are these airport codes maybe? Here are the airports with those 3 letter handles:

ABZ - Dyce Airport, Aberdeen, U.K.
AKM - Zakouma Airport, Zakouma, Chad
ACE - Lanzarote Airport, Arrecife, Spain

Oh, I like that lot... Even if that's not right - that was some smart thinking.

Edit: I had a quick look on Google Earth, and I couldn't see anything glaringly obvious... unless we're missing an airport somewhere in Syria / Turkey in whitch case we get a nice rectangle Smile

thought about that. Distances arent equal

abz-> ace = 3263 Km or 2027.5 miles
akm-> ace = 4005Km or 2488.59 miles
akm -> abz = 5480Km or 3405.1 miles

has anyone tried to triangulate those to a center point of the triangle they would form. Maybe that is something.

Since that point would be in the middle of the ocean, is there any way to put latitude/longitude coordinates into google maps? If nothing else, looking at tiny islands in the ocean is very interesting--I was randomly looking at a couple today, zooming in then all of a sudden you see a little dirt road and some military vehicles going into a hillside. Pretty freaky.

Tried a search first this time

I tried searching the topics to see if anyone else was thinking about this and didn't see it, so sorry if I'm repeating.

Anyway, I was looking at the pics and noticing how the last two really didn't have much detail or give any new information, they did contribute two new timestamps though, which makes me think that perhaps those are the only info to get off of the site. After studying those the only pattern I'm noticing is that many of the numbers are divisible by 6, which links nicely to "Slusho!". The fact that 18, 12:24, 12:36, and 12:48 are are divisible makes me wonder if there is some kind of code developing that will become evideny when more are realeased.

Just kind of thinking out loud, brainstorming and what-not.
