Heya...I posted before to ask about this, dont recall seeing any answers tho..

At the 36-39 seconds marks of the trailer, just before the first ROAR you can hear the song "Woman" by Wolfmother playing at the party.

Just curious if anyone had a way to check on "permission to use" type stuff that may be associated with the song.

Wolfmother was very upfront about a song of theirs used in Spiderman 3 but I havent found any refernece to this movie as of yet..

12-pages later, no-one has given me an answer yet on this one. Copyright material requires permission..I just don't know the way to go about finding a way to verify the "who, what, when, where" type answers..

Any thoughts??
you're right, they need licensing.. I don't have time to find licensing info, but maybe this will help you on your search... http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/music-licensing.htm/printable

Thanx Soci,

Right off the bat I found that the song is actually a re-mix by MSTRKRFT of the Wolfmother song "Woman"...tracking that down now Very Happy

1-18-08.com Pics

I haven't seen too much talk about the four pics on the official site...especially the most recent one. Anything new at all about these?

I also just read that this could possibly be the "Rampage" movie. Taken obviously from the popular video game. who knows......

Do you mean aside from the 20+ page Trailer/Pics Analysis thread?

ran the mp3 file of the music from the slusho site throught a DTMF tone check and it comes up with the tones

A
#
2

Tone ...... Start Offset [ms]....... End Offset [ms]...... Length [ms]
A ...... 451 ± 15...... 541 ± 15 ...... 90 ± 30

# ...... 601 ± 15 ...... 661 ± 15 ...... 60 ± 30

2 ...... 3,219 ± 15 ...... 3,279 ± 15 ...... 60 ± 30

Not sure if it helps but it does have an A and the 2 could be ABC not sure on the # but it could have something to do with the name of the sign.. or is also used in HTML formats as well. Heres where i pass the buck

also spun it backwards to see if it sounded any diff Very Happy

Perhaps its time for a moderated facts only section, where only factual with basis posts are held and the mods remove any that are shown or prove to be baseless, then aleast the now newcomers might be pointed at that thread for a jumpstart on all the speculation of the 700 or so posts here so far. Because I know I'm getting tired of seeing the same old speculations going round and round and round, is it Cuthulu, is it Lovecartian, is it biblical, could it be japanese legend, is it Voltron, a new transformers or Jason strikes back the early years, Will it be big, or will it be small, I see dead people, I know its spiderman the vulcan mutant ninja batfish. Rolling Eyes

Speculation in the specualtion thread, rumors in a rumor thread, Facts in a facts thread. Confused

That's what the reference sticky is for.

The mere list of websites in the references sticky contains nothing of previously speculated ideas and possible solves, etc. With over 300 pages of ideas fumigating on this thread, it's impossible for everyone to get on track with everyone else unless there's some sort of "The Story So Far" thread, much like there was with Sector Seven. The disparaged and chaotic nature of the threads here only make it harder for those new to 1-18-08 to come to any sensible conclusions not previously discussed. That being said, instead of turning away new players by being unnecessarily vicious toward them, we should redirect them to a very obvious sticky thread on previously thought out theories, speculations, and solves that has been either connected to the references sticky or on its own sticky page.

Clues should be obvious...

The nature of ARGs... I was under the impression... clues are not so obscure/hidden/contrived that you have to pick apart websites, do absurd math or know how to compose music to move on.

The idea is suck people in not frustrate them so much that they don't get anywhere.

A viral campaign is not the same as a ARG.

The movie site has photos. The hints would be there or at the Slusho site.

And out in the open for us to solve. Either the ARG hasn't really begun, there isn't one, or we've just been looking at the minutia and missing the big picture.

The weirdness over at slusho could just be them jerking us around, but the oven mit, swiss cheese and the words misplaced or mispelled could very well be pointing to something we haven't figured out.

Maybe the monster has something to do with a Japanese monster myth...

One of the girls in the trailer is wearing a red track jacket the says switzerland on the back. Any shots of blue oven mits in the kitchen during the trailer?

And I'm I the only one who see notices the guy in the tux and the guy with something white in his mouth?

Slusho kanji?

Has anyone translated the kanji on the Slusho.jp site(seen on the large Slusho cup when you point to a button)? Do they say what they're supposed to say?

Yes, and here's a pretty good discussion on it from someone who has lived in Japan for 10+ years:

I remember Go-bots. I thought the teaser was in front of the Go-bots movie?
