 		Relax, it's not it. He'll be back up for Star Trek and then there will likely be more for Cloverfield after that. Save the best for last, you know, so the entire room doesn't clear out.

 		it may just be tag for it and nothing more, yes they could use it as part of the campaign but it doesn't mean it's the name.

 		Because at some point they thought that Monstrous would have made a kickass name for the movie...until they saw that the feedback coming from is was disapproving. So now the official teaser poster doesn't include it and they look for a new name.

Then I think we should start a campaign to name the movie "Holy S***, New York's F*****!"

I'd love to see that on a poster!

And, as far as Abrams' quote, remember this is coming through a person on the scene typing it. I'd wait to hear it from Abrams himself, or at least a reliable news outlet, before analyzing every word.

But I liked "Monstrous"
I'm really glad it's going to be something original. Nothing wrong with dedication to your favorite writer but it's like I said, Lovecraft can't be the only giant monster demon creator in the world. Although I was personally banking on Cthulhu for a while and then settled on some sort of berserk sea leviathan which pretty much encompasses anything that could come out of the ocean. On the slusho site if you think about zooming, the only thing moving at a zoom pace would be that octopus headed for the surface... but nevermind that...

I guess at this point it really is just a waiting game.


PS. And what WAS wrong with the title Monstrous. Rhymes with ominous. I thought it was awesome.

No, please don't quit! How will the forum proceed without your loving guidance and sharp wit?

Well, I guess you guys made me eat my own words. A completely original monster; no Behemoth, no Godzilla, no Gamera, no mythical, biblical or religious lore... Seems a little wierd. I'm more used to remakes than an actual, original movie. Didn't know it was still possible.

Oh, and I'm sure Monstrous is a tag. The name could be the name of the monster, but I don't think that's gonna lead us anywhere. "Gojira" (Godzilla's original, Japanese name) means "gorilla whale", and I can safely say Godzilla doesn't look like either.

Hey did anyone else notice if you fold the poster a certain way it turns into a nice green paper hat, or a boat, maybe a giant crane.

Well just goes to show you only have to put down a little oil on a polished stone floor to watch a awful lot of people slide outta the door on their asses.

Remember he said at the start if this dont kick ass, all I can say is I feel sorry for the one legged man.

Oh, and since he wants America to have a distinct movie monster, I think we can safely assume it is not a bipedal reptilian.

i'm new and im sure somebody said this but....
i did read somewhere today(in my immense searching of the internt) that supposedly insiders are calling it the parasite...and(i'm not sure if any one has said this yet...though i'm pretty sure somebody has..) if you take the license plate number on the suv gets smashed and add .com on the end it takes you to a web site that has a message board.
