Dunno if its faker or not, but it seems interesting to me. And it seems provide some great connection to what seems separate stories.

Hmm, so it seems that on IMDB its posibble change ID so this probably will be fake. But nice one Smile . But its so sad, that this probably is not no new clue at all. So we need to wait.

 		Guys, I think we all need to take a few collective breaths here...

First, in my opinion, there is still absolutely no evidence for 1-18-08 and ethanhaaswasright.com being connected. There's an obvious difference in style and the registry information for both domains vary widely. The fact that Paramount could be involved with both is hardly proof for anything...

Now, I can't (and don't want to) stop specualtion on the two being connected, but at least keep the Ethan Haas puzzle discussion in the Ethan Haas Was Right thread (link) so that it doesn't clutter this one. I've moved it from Timewasters to News & Rumors to make this a little easier. Try and use this thread for speculation about the movietrailer and the 1-18-08.com website.

Also, for newcomers, use the Search function before jumping in and throwing things out there, I've seen some stuff posted and discussed in this thread 3 or 4 times. And think before you link to yet another website that seems to be connected to this thing. If we don't watch out, half the internet will soon be considered in-game, while gamejacking or just trolling around gets so very easy this way. As far as we can speak of a game at all here, the PMs will hopefully use smart ways to make it clear weather or not websites are to be considered in-game.

Let's try and keep this discussion as tidy as possible so everyone can keep and stay up to speed.

 		My clarification on the Its ALIVE statement
The statement ITS ALIVE is quite blooming simple, If it was a machine that was attacking or an Aircraft then a statement of Its a machine would be acceptable. Its alive indicates an OBVIOUS INTELLIGENCE AND RAGE. Maybee even indicating that maybee a statue or mountain other than the Statue Of Liberty shatters open at the start of the movie before the party. There would be an obvious shock at the attack and anyone pannicking wont be thinking logically. Think of Airshow crashes, some run from it others run toward it, it isnt logical to run towards a massive fire/

People on this site have written that it might be Cthulhu and on yog-sothoth.com they are speculating it might be Cthulhu. IMHO if this is a Cthulhu movie then they just might be in danger of destroying the Entire Cthulhhu Mythos. In Lovecraft's writings, Cthulhu was a God, a Great Old One whose completely alien motivations could never be understood by mankind. To stare upon his form would cause instant madness. In Lovecraft's writings artists and others such people dreamed or couldn't sleep or slowly went insane just before he was freed from his undersea prison to walk the earth.

To send Cthulhu through any major city on a rampage would be to cheapen the character into something like Godzilla or King Kong. I have nothing against those two characters but we are talking about a completely different fictional world. Cthulhu's world is much darker and part of the appeal of Lovecraft's writings were the ever present fear that a full scale invasion could occur, the appeal wasn't that it happened all the time.

I surely hope this isn't a Cthulhu movie, and if it is then they are handling it completely wrong, IMHO

What so the Cthulu movie is basicaly a guy going insane, and no giant monster thing? Does a war actually happen? From what little I have heard and the Trailer the movie looks pants.
Cloverfield looks good, as does the ETHANHASS thing/

 		Here's some things from the video that struck me. Right before the newscast a girl seems to whisper, "I can hear them."

Later, on the roof another guy mentions something about "the cameras" before the "you should have left earlier line."

The attire is all wrong for NYC in January.

Also, the scale does seem off for the Statue of Libery Head. The Head is big enough for people to go into and walk around an observation deck isn't it? Isn't the band of the crown windows?

Guys, seriously -- this is stuff you can Google before posting. The head is like 10' x 17' which makes the scale pretty accurate.

Anyone else notice that the EthanHaasWasWrong website got hacked?

Unfortunately, with a Blogger account, that does little to credit the information. You can change the date of posts, the address of your blog, your name, etc. In other words, someone could've converted their personal Blogger account to be used as a gamejack-type-thing--with the hopes that their registration date would make them appear to be IG.



Unless you can change the date you registered the account, then what you are saying has no validity at all.

YouTube doesn't yank videos for no good reason. You have some proof of your IP claim before they'll do anything. Otherwise, its a big time lawsuit, and Paramount wouldn't risk it. I'll admit that there is a chance that these sites aren't related, but it is a fact that both contain Paramount's involvement.
