I've been following this thread since the beginning and decided to offer a little bit of input. It might be a bit of a stretch but has anyone seen "The Host"? It's a recent Japanese monster movie. In the movie, the creature was created by a person dumping formaldehyde and other chemicals down the drain, leading to the river.

What i'm trying to get at is maybe the creature [or whatever it is] was possibly created in a similar fashion. Drinking slusho? And the character "Rob" is moving to Japan and the slusho website is in Japanese. Not sure if it's been debunked yet but what if this is a remake/sequal to "The Host"? I was thinking maybe since there have been remakes of "The Ring", "The Grudge" and other flicks that this may be the same thing.

Just a thought. If this has been debunked, apologies. Wink

So I haven't had any interest in anything ARG related for about 2 years, but this has my attention. I work in New York Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I could go to the area where the outside part takes place and take some pictures if you guys want. (it's pretty easy to find thanks to google maps and the 401 broadway sign...) It's quite a bit out of my way though, so I'm only going to do it if there's a lot of interest in it. Let me know.

The Host was Korean, not Japanese, so I don't think there's a link there.

The only Ganu info I could find is this, part of the Celtic word for eel:

Eel (Eas-Ganu):
The eel is mentioned in several Celtic legends, on of which is the story of the two swineherds who battled through a variety of shape-shifting forms. In their final form as eels, the swineherds were swallowed by cows who later gave birth to magickal bulls. Cu Chulainn's spear Gae-Bolga got its name from the eel. The Morrigan took on the form of an eel when she had a magickal battle with the hero. The eel symbolizes adaptability, wisdom, inspiration, and defense.

I Love Rob

when the blonde girl says "I Love Rob", or "I'm gonna miss him" or whatever, there is like a Japanese book behind her. Is it Legible? can anyone make it out? I figure the biggest clues are going to be behind the cute girls because they figure all the geeks will be too busy looking at them to notice anything else

Noriko

New to the board but I have been following this from the get-go.

My wife, who has studied Japanese for almost half her life, took a look at the Slusho site. All of the kanji translates to the english words fine and well. Though she did mention that the name Noriko (mentioned in the History portion of the site) may have some meaning to all of this.

Nori is a word for a type of seaweed used for sushi, and ko is the feminine ending to first names which means child. But the seaweed nori is not the same as the name Nori. There are 9 different kanji that can be used for the name Nori, none of which deal with the sea.

So it could be nothing or they were trying to be clever, having idea that nori seaweed and the name derivative Nori are not the same.

Well, that's not to say that they couldn't be remaking a Korean film (as I've seen this movie referenced in other speculation threads) but I just meant I don't think Rob going to Japan is linked with The Host title in any way.

Probably been mentioned before, but did anybody else notice the sushi on the table? Obviously there because Rob is/was Japan-bound, but also echoes the sea motif being talked about. That's so thin it's anorexic, but maybe brighter minds than mine can make something of it. Wink

just for the record, on slusho, the only working links are feedback, history, downloads.

Store, happy talk, flavors, are 'updating'....

Where are the graphics cyphers here who can check the downloads they make available to see if there's anything to those?

Also, in history it says that Ganu's mother set off on a great sea adventure and was "never heard from again" and next paragraph says the beverage making enterprise killed his mother.

Missing link there....keep an eye on it.

PS I sent an email for the feedback and asked where/if I can get a slusho tshirt.... ;-p If anything comes of it, I'll let ya know. But if they would make tshirts available, I'd get one I'm sure....AND be wearing it on 1-18-08 when the flick opens.
