[NEW SITE] Kevin Cosby
68.209.174.80

http://68.209.174.80/

Kevin Cosby

found via Craigslist ad today http://stockholm.craigslist.org/mis/361925801.html

discuss!

btw, port 222 is live

http://68.209.174.80:222

I've check three different reverse IP lookup sites, and they all report that there are NO domains registered at that address. My super sekrit skillz tell me that this is a home DSL connection from somewhere in North Carolina...

heh, that GetMeOut fellow's name is Kevin, and he lives in Chapel Hill, NC!

(Cosby, not Crosby, sorry)

There's also the Cruzby reference that Kevin mentioned in his PM with Dante.

Maybe we'll know at 6:05am, tomorrow Wink

There's an interesting misspelling from Kevin's About page...2nd paragraph, 4th sentence. Should be I've instead of Ive. Fat fingered mistake?

OK, OK. So what's going on here. Your machine seems to be totally infected. That's not too surprising, right, maybe? Maybe the SO server is programmed to sniff out your IP address and then sent all that evil crap on its merry way. Just like a virus, right? Nothing too crazy-scary.

Hmm. But the dream. All right, that's Internet Exploring crazy. Scream about that. Maybe call up a friend. Tell 'em you watched a .NETing scary movie. I don't care if it sound stupid.

If you're freaking out, just calm down. If you need to call someone, I can give you my cell number. Take it one step at a time.

Right. You're right. Totally normal. This kind of IIS happens everyday, right? Yeah! Sweet! I'm putting in some Family Guy, get a little "giggetygiggety" going and maybe do some yoga. Not that I've ever done yoga before in my life, but it sounds like something to do at a time like this. Jesus, I hope my porn collection didn't get sucked out and translated to arabic. That would just be the magic Outlook, wouldn't it? Heh heh. Ohhh I'm giggling like a girl.

I dunno, maybe your computer will infect some hot girl's computer and you'll get access to her webcam. Hottt! Confused Yoga works. Don't fall on your head.

Yea, you can recreate the exact same document by going here:

http://aa.usno.navy.mil/

You have the option of creating a chart for the sun rise/set or the moon rise/set. The actual moon rise/set chart for Greensboro looks completely different from what's in the backup folder, which is definitely about the sun.

I'm worried about GetMeOut. Why did he pick that user name anyway? I thought the ME stood for Windows Millenium because you guys have turned me into a tech geek, but now I realize that it means,...,me.

I like the name Kevin Cosby though, sounds like a baseball player.

The BOIL process on Kevin's site contains completely different data. Looks like another trawl through for sentences is needed.

I would skim through the new BOIL, but I'm paranoid about my computer dying on me again.

I've taken a brief look through the new BOIL file. It contains:

  • The entirety of the Hipparcos star catalog position dataset, unmodified;
  • Three quotes from the front page of his website;
  • And the beginning of the moonchart PDF.

EDIT: That's the moonchart PDF file.

In addition to the hipparcos catalogue which is very long I have found the following:

Quote:
I haven't been able to snap the rubber band of home in the south, and still live and work in Chapel Hill, NC. The weather is good, the girls are pretty, and the collegiate atmosphere inspiring. Plus, there are a lot of excellent, dirty pubs to hang out in

Human beings, by being witnesses to events, warrant time and places for their existence beyond normal day to day living and breathing. Here, I created a series of small skits that were acted out and invited strangers to participate, unscripted, in the dialogue. The object of the short skits were to get people to participate in the lives of people they met on the street and provide assistance, through skill tests, singing, dancing, and chatting.

Once upon a time, my mother and father met. My mom was a waitress at a local diner during the summer - a stunner with long legs and full, dark hair with a slight bounced curl that sprang joyfully as she paced the restaurant floor in her starched blue uniform. My father's family, having just moved to Lenoir, pulled him away from a summer semester at Ithaca to help schlep boxes. Providentially, they pulled into town just as one of the classic Cruise-Ins was revving up. Dad wandered into the diner, desperate to get away from the heaving crowd of poodle skirts and saddle shoes, and ran smack dab into my mother, sending her tray full of coffee and apple pie flying into the air. The mess landed all over both of them as they tumbled into a heap on the cool linoleum floor, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Furthering my exchange with GMO:

So yeah. You're in the bar now. Confused Look on the bright side! You're not drinking the Kool-Aid! Dump it out, use the salt to rim a margarita and face the day! Like that time Peter once faced Doris Day in a duel... *flashback*

But no, seriously. If you've got the salt, a circle's a good way to make sure you're safe from both spirits and ants. Keep yourself grounded. Your computer is been boogified, but it hasn't started to shoot CDs out at you or laser you or anything. It'll be fine.

After the Raleigh post last night, I just walked away. But I couldn't sit. I couldn't sleep. I just paced the floor. My legs are pretty tired this morning - I don't think the yoga helped Confused

Also: I somehow missed that there were two PDFs. Good catch, James. The moonchart.pdf file is the second of the two. I don't know what the first is.
