From Iris--Chief Prufrock doesn't believe them!

Dear Roxanne,

Did you hear about Phyllis and my encounter with Don Marzano and his thugs? I think that had Mr. Marzano come alone, Phyllis would have gotten into a fist fight with the man! Remind me never to get the lady angry, as I think even in her high heels and designer duds, she could whip my butt from here to Alaska and back again.

Sometimes I wonder about people. What exactly is a policeman's job if they refuse to believe anything anyone ever tells them? Phyllis and I just spent the most maddening hour at the police station speaking with the police chief. This woman, to put it mildly, is a horse's rear end and she needs to have a painting fly off of the wall and smack her square on the face so she will stop looking at us as if we need to be committed against our will.

Do you know that she has actually told us that there is absolutely no way for Don Marzano to have been at Phyllis's house this afternoon? She called his office and spoke to him and apparently he has not only an alibi but also has witnesses that old Prufrock feels are acceptable.

So, there you go. We were not allowed, yes, NOT ALLOWED to file a complaint against Mr. Marzano as Chief Prufrock refused to believe he was there. She actually came right out and told us that bad things happen to people who makefalse police reports about other people. Can you believe her gall? She told us to go home and try and get a grip on what really was happening instead of trying to abuse the system for our own personal gain.

I swear, I though Phyllis's head would explode at the insults. Even telling
Prufrock that Sam had witnessed it all did nothing to help our case. I guess she feels that he would say anything for anyone. I feel sorry for Sam. In another time or place, I would consider trying to get him to go out with me, but I think he has too much on his plate for that to be anywhere near appropriate.

Iris

PS: I do not have time right now to send a message to all the people who have written and chose the first email address in my box. Please let everyone else know what I have said.

The world is a much dimmer place.
