Has anyone tried to send emails to other Slusho related charactors? I just sent this message to ganuSPLATslusho.jp

I've tried sending to all the derivative emails I can think of at that domain; "satoshi" is the only valid one, and all others bounce.

I have also actually written a program to do a domain check of all two-word domain permutations in all major groups (com, net, org, info, biz, cc, jp) with all of the following words:

smallest
whale
noriko
ganu
satoshi
ryouta
kujira
yoshida
kagashima
slusho
six
zoom
labs
laboratory
laboratories
research
corporation
inc
institute
bottling
oceanography
science
farm
farms
garden
gardens
distribution
shipping
diving
produce

...and the domains I've found are either "out of game" and legitimate or parking placeholders jsut waiting to be bought, which is OOG as well.

Any other word suggestions?

This is probably some Flash phenomenon but....

If you zoom in on the far left and right hand sides of the text on the History pages it vanishes on the fifth zoom. You then have to scroll around to make it re-appear.

I thought I might have zoomed into white space but no!

On the rest of the page/site it doesn't do this, although it appears to get no bigger on the sixth and subsequent zooms.

Something hidden?

Using Firefox2 FWIW.

Also, when zooming in I get a vertical white border on the edges of my screen!

I'm using IE 6 and noticed the same thing when I tried to zoom on the little fish that swims behind the "History" banner. I'm inclined to think it's nothing, though.

The little blue "fish" that pops up to say "Fresh for You!!" (when you click on the flavors button on the title page), is a little Blue Whale, not a fish. You can tell from the baleen plates under the mouth.

Something about the pop-ups or rollovers I think has gone unnoticed. From left to right, the animal changes if you do a second rollover on the same "button":

Feedback-- red donkey each time you rollover
Store--alternates between frog (left) and blue whale (right)
Downloads--alternates between frog (left) and duck (right)
History--alternates between red donkey (left) and duck (right)
Happy Talk--alternates between red donkey (left) and blue whale (right)
Flavors--blue whale each time

Could just be a meaningless, arbitrary design, but worth thinking about for now.

If you guys have already seen this, I apologize but I'm new to this game. I see everybody talking about the Slusho history page, but what about the pictures and linkd at www.slushozoom.com?
The first picture links to "Using Karyotypes to Predict Genetic Disorders"

The "Hot Bath" says the fund is no more due to the end of the world.

The third image is linked to "Bazooka" on Wiki.

The 4th image links to the page for "Furankenshutain no kaijū: Sanda tai Gaira" (1966) An experimental lab animal called a gargantua escapes from his captors and is suspected to be the creature that is killing people all over the countryside. But when the gargantua from the lab appears at the same time as the evil gargantua, the two begin to battle across Japan.

The 5th image (1868) is linked to the Warner Bros VIP tour.

The 6th image (The Statue of Liberty) is linked to a page telling you how to make your own cheese.

The 7th image has no link.

The 8th image (Slusho logo) links to Slusho.

I don't think these images had links before.

I could be wrong.

They've always had links, but the site is a gamejack (wow, I'm using terminology) Dude is trying to get 25 cents from people for a newsletter.. Think about how much he could make if people don't know that it's a fraud...

Someone try this. Paste all the words which have an exclamation mark with it and arrange the words to make a logical sentence. Then send it to the satoshi email. Maybe it's too far-fetched but I'm curious to see the results.

triumph

These are all the words, have at it.

In reference to the character mentioned, I don't know if this has been looked at yet, but its about Noriko Yoshida.

A lot of us looked at that page (including me) and concluded it was OOG.

I really think we're looking too far into this at this point in time. If it's a game, then we started digging for clues before Abrams put them all into place. Here are some things we really have to consider:

1. Trying to run the music on the Slusho website through spectrum analyzers like some people are doing is too far fetched. The game would be meant to be played by a wider range of people than only those who have access to look for secret messages using analyzation equipment. While it might be fun, your time would be better spent chasing after real leads.

2. Poking around and trying to break codes to gain access to FTP's is not only illegal, but once again so far fetched that it would prevent the vast majority of people who want to play the game from playing it because they're not programmers or code breakers. Once again - think mainstream.

3. Zooming in and looking at undecipherable items and trying to guess what they are to find the next clue is time spent that could be utilized elsewhere. It's been mentioned many times that the clues are giant elephants in a room that are slightly camoflaged. We found out about Slusho because the movie websites has the movie under an AKA of Slusho, and that was due to the set locations. It was later tied to the t-shirt the guy was wearing in the trailer. It wasn't the other way around.

4. Creating numeric codes from words, pings in songs, hourly variations between errors in Flash programming, and other similar items will not get you anywhere. I know I sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but the games are meant to be played by a wide array of people, not only by supernerds and mega fanboys. Think like an investigator, don't think like a kid with a lot of computer equipment and conspiracy theories.

The next clue is coming, and chances are it will be around the time of Comic Con. We found Slusho sooner than expected, and the website isn't even completed (hence the autoresponder on the e-mail - don't even get me started on those who are sending coded messages back to the autoresponder). As for right now, the four pictures on the website are just pictures. With close to 300 pages of speculation on what they are, someone would have figured it out by now if there was something there. There are no coordinated in the time and date, or secret messages that need to be translated from numerology to Klingon to Japanese and back to English and run through a DOS-based ASCII translator to get an secret e-mail address. The pictures are simple - they are put there to give us something to think about while Abrams & Co finish the movie and give us something from that point forward.

I have a lot more to rant about, but in summary, just kick back, chill out, stop looking for things that don't exist, and wait until the game really starts before you start one of your own.

Enjoy.

FYI: "Slusho" is a registered trademark at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office...

http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=77229626

It's from Santa Monica, California, but no indication as to whether this was filed by someone affiliated with the movie or not.

It was filed July 13th, which is rather late, all things considered.

That explains why I never found it when I looked the day the site put the TM on everything. Kinda odd that they didn't realize that people would try to copy their logo onto t-shirts and such within 15 minutes of learning of the connection to the movie. Not that being trademarked means anything to unscrupulous pirates.
