As much as the "propaganda" comment shows a ham-handed attempt to make what I think is a non-offensive point, I kind of side with Ecks on this one.

I'm a Christian and I wouldn't see this movie if it's some sort of Biblical end of times flick. That has little to do with my faith and everything to do with abject boredom in the subject because that particular subject has been done to death. If we're going to do end of the world, let's do something relatively original, yes?

Okay, propaganda was probably the wrong choice in wording, I do apologize.

Jimmie, that is pretty much why I wouldn't see it if that's the subject matter, it's just played out and unoriginal (which it's been speculated that this will be a original piece of work).

Slusho Music

the music on slusho.jp has changed. Now there is a little portamento bass line which brings the number of musical parts to 4 so far... top melody, mid-bass synth line, bass line, and drums.

melody is...E, Ef, E, C, G, A, E, Ef, E

trying to pick through the new line now...

If you make the notes numbers, starting at C = 1, Db = 2, D = 3, you have:

E, Ef, E, C, G, A, E, Ef, E
5 4 5 1 8 10 5 4 5

Adds up to 47.. means nothing
but maybe.... (545) 181-0545 ?

But thats given that c = 1, etc. Its been too long since i was in music class so I don't know what key the Slusho song is in. Maybe if one was to start at the first note of that key and go with those numbers? Maybe I'm dumb? The mysteries just keep building....

First, phone numbers can't start with "1"

As to 47 ... wasn't Ramboldi's "Special Number" 47? ... just sayin' ... I personally don't think it means anything.

 The Slusho.jp Music

Just letting everyone know that I heard the song that plays on the Slusho page in a www.newgrounds.com flash that was released a year or two ago.

Must be from a public library of sorts.

Just a couple of thoughts...

I am trying to connect the following items in a logical order:

1. The "HISTORY" in the Slusho page; more specifically the part where Ganu brings the "ingredient" from the deep ocean.

2. The term "Parasite" that is commonly referenced with respect to the "Cloverfield" project.

3. The quote "It's alive and it's huge" that can be heard in the teaser trailer.

-- If there is a connection between the preceding items, I may think of the following:

Something (the "ingredient") is brought from a distant place, such as the deep ocean. This ingredient is normally used for good purpose, for instance to make people happy in some way or even heal people. This ingredient is commonly used; it is well known to the average person.

However, this ingredient may be mistreated in some way. In such case, it stops having positive effects. If it is misused, it is becomes a "parasite". It also assumes a different form that may be interpreted as a threatening deviation from its original state.

This "parasite" triggers the "monster" of the upcoming movie.

Needless to say, I cannot neither think of a certain ingredient that posesses such properties nor of the monster's nature.

These thoughts came to me while visiting relevant sites the last days, and I just found it appropriate to share them with you.

I would like to thank the forum users for their hospitality.

Could it be that the term "Parasite" is simply shorthand for Paramount Website or Paramount Filming Site?

Honshu
Aomori

After spending a little time on the website I felt the most worthwhile clue was the FACT that they are from Honshu after a little research I found that a prefect of Honshu is Aomori, which is well known for its apples. I remembered the legal hassle Apple went through when Youtube started running the trailer and thought MAYBE Apple fought to maintain the ONLY site with the trailer because THEY are a clue. I'm working on it but, I haven't turned up anything interesting in Aomori as of yet!

As a side note, when I Google "aomori slusho" I get a couple of links to an "Japan hopper" website but, I cant find WHY they would come up in the search. Maybe someone a little more Web savvy could figure it out???

If you're right, it wouldn't be a very original plot. It was done in both Resident Evil: Apocalypse and also Catwoman (Haven't seen it, but I know the plot). In both of them, a beauty product triggers a monstrous change. In RE, it turns people into zombie monsters...

ran the mp3 file of the music from the slusho site throught a DTMF phone tone check and it comes up with the tones

A
#
2

Tone ...... Start Offset [ms]....... End Offset [ms]...... Length [ms]
A ...... 451 ± 15...... 541 ± 15 ...... 90 ± 30

# ...... 601 ± 15 ...... 661 ± 15 ...... 60 ± 30

2 ...... 3,219 ± 15 ...... 3,279 ± 15 ...... 60 ± 30

Not sure if it helps but it does have an A and the 2 could be ABC not sure on the # but it could have something to do with the name of the sign.. or is also used in HTML formats as well.

also spun it backwards to see if it sounded any diff Very Happy

The music hasn't changed. That bass line, which is only four notes playing the root of the C Major chord, has been there all the time. There are also five tonal lines happening in the theme. There's the melody, the harmony, a brief three note line at the very beginning that echoes the first three notes of the melody but an octave lower, the four-note bass theme, and the drum track.

The melody is actually E,C,E,G,G (Octave), F,G,A,F. I've been over it a dozen times and it plays out the same way every time. The only note that I'd question at all is the last note, which doesn't seem to stay on a firm F. It almost sounds like a "plunk" sound, like a drop of water and seems to bend toward F#.

If you want to assign scale degrees by number to the theme, working from the key of C Major, then the theme is 3,1,3,5,5,4,5,6,4.
