I'm definitely with you about Rob's demeanor when all of the shit starts hitting the fan. On the roof, it's like he's had some sort of internalized dread/secret. Once things start happening, he's very obviously distraught, but not in the same state of WTF as everyone else. And given the crowd, everyone looks like they're young, tasteful professionals. Too soon to tell, it's pure speculation, but it's not all that impossible to think that Rob is connected with the Slusho business enterprise in some way.

agreed, definitely. Rob is way too 'calm'. What about the person behind the camera? I'm not quite sure (haven't looked at the trailer in thr last few hours), but I'm pretty sure there isn't much shocked response from whomever it is. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, Rob is the natural focal point for the whole thing, but I want to know more about the person behind the filming. I don't think that's possible given the limited footage we have. I think he (the cameraman) only speaks once, when he tells someone to say a few words about Rob.

exactly, when you speculate about the cameraman, everyone is just like 'um he's rob's bestfriend and thats probably it'. Ok, this is just me, but if I was filming something like THAT, I would probably be saying/shrieking something along the lines of "OH MY GOD WHAT THE F*CK"

Also, the girl who is like 'What is this for?' is drinking something with a straw. Slusho?

The Tossing Games site just...puzzles me. I'm not sure if I should either dismiss it or read into it. Its so weird. It links to the fake 'parasitemovie' site, but honestly...I just don't know about it. The admin is named 'Steve King'. J.J. Abrams is pretty obsessed with Stephen King, as I have seen in interviews and 'Lost' episodes. That and there's a video of someone blowing something up at the top of the 'cloverfield' thread.

Well, honestly, I did find it weird that there are no replies to any of the topics on the site. If its real, its very thorough. Also, in the admins signature, he has a picture of a map. This, to me, is also weird. He says 'those are all the states he's visited'. New York is not one of them. 1-18-08 is about a future event (which is how the Gerard guy on IMDB got debunked), not about something that already happened.

Also, the videos from youtube are weird.
1st video- some guy talking about 'how its their best shot' and the video is from 'january 2006'. Then something massively explodes. the director of the video is OptimusMatrix (i think), and it doesn't look like the director ahs anything to actually do with Cloverfield.

2nd video- some guy in a weird room tooling around with a ping pong ball and a red cup. cool, but seemingly irrelevant.

3rd video- someone using a human slingshot and a tractor. Again, seemingly irrelevant.

4th video- A classics video for The Beach Boy's "Don't Worry Baby", complete with oceans and surfing and sexy girls. Only possible link is the ocean and it seems like a stretch.

Ugh. Damn you tossinggames.com I very much hate you.

true, but I'm pretty sure no one thought it was a terror attack, as the news reported it as an "earthquake", and several people commented on how the noice sounded like an animal. No one probably expected the skyline to start exploding, when they were up on the roof.

Honestly, when the NY skyline bursts into flames, I would expect people to scream. Rob doesn't seem 'unfazed' to me, he seems like something he's really dreading is happening. And the camera man (a real mystery IMO) says nary a word during the incident. This just...doesn't feel kosher.

Then again, its 2 am, and I'm not sure how I can actually manage to brain at this point. So, lol.
