Possible theory on Exclamation marks

Hi, first time here. Never really played an ARG before, but 1-18-08 has gotten me interested enough to attempt it.

I've been looking at Slusho since it was first brought up. The first thing I did was to email satoshi, which I did in several different ways. Anyways, I got the standard AR each time. I've been thinking on it ever since.

Now, people have been noting the signifigance of the ! marks, and I had a thought about what it could be, at least in the email. I was considering the ideat that the autoresponse is an anagram, and the ! #'s is a key to tell us how many words there are.

In this regard, I was wondering if anyone is willing to try some hand anagraming, because the usual anagram engines don't process some of the words that could possibly be formed. Like 'Kaiju' and 'Daikaiju'. It's just a lark, but who knows what it could turn up.

On another note, I also have a vague theory on what the monster could possibly be. We know pretty definitely that we're dealing with a giant monster. We also have that whole story on Slusho about small fish becoming big whales. Finally, the monster has been referred to as The Parasite. So, I thought of this. Possibly whatever is in Slusho is cellular lifeform, kept dormant at a frozen state. However, when it's ingested (and warmed) it becomes active and begins to overtake or consume its host. The addictive nature of Slusho could be part of the parasites feeding mechanism, a way of establishing rapid growth. What finally happens is that after a long enough time and enough Slusho drank, the person is completely overtaken and transformed into something else. Which is still hungry and goes on to feed. Giant monsters require a LOT of mass, so perhaps the way that is accomplished is by the parasite absorbing more and more people, growing ever larger. This could also be a hint involving the first 1-18 picture with the supposed demon. Yes, it definitely appears to be hair, but it was added and it's too evocative to be unintentional. Perhaps it's a subtle way to tell us the monster originates from inside people. This could also cover the possibility of multiple monsters.

Like I said, incredibly vague and unsupported theory, but my mind just got to wandering. Anyways, thanks for listening to me prattle, I'll register soon.

Birds in background
Something's not right...

Maybe I'm grasping, but maybe I'm on to something here.

I started looking at the download page of Slusho, since that's the only place we've had any updates, and started looking for something... anything.

The catch phrase "SLUSHO ZOOM!" was still nagging at me, so I started zooming around looking for something.

I finally did notice something that looked insignificant unzoomed, but became much clearer zoomed... the birds in the background.

Take a look at the attached picture, and tell me what way you think the birds are flying.

To me, it looks as if they're flying to the left. However, if you look at the site, the birds are actually flying to the right. Note, in particular, how some birds 'split' on their right side. This looks just like a bird's tail or legs might look in flight... not its mouth!

(EDIT: Check out the lower-most bird for an example of this)

Can anyone else see this, or have I gone blind / crazy Embarassed

Unfortunately, I don't really know what this would mean, except that something is backwards.

P.S. Hi all, first 'real' post. I played in ILB, but only lurked / used guest posts. (Did 'enhottenate' some axons though!) This 1-18-08 thing has me intrigued, so I thought I'd poke my head in again.

I'm not sure most migratory birds fly in a V formation behind a leader so for the birds to be flying to the right seems normal.

I see where you are confused. These are not regular birds, they are geese. Geese have long necks. The splitting you're seeing is the lack of depth perception due to the 2d image, and the bottom "lip" or whatever you want to call it i'm not sure because it's a still but i'm willing to bet it is just the back wing swinging below the bird.

Re: Possible theory on Exclamation marks

There was a movie called "The Stuff" with a similar plot. It was about an odd lifeform that was being fed to people as a delicious frozen treat.

I do think that the fact that it had to be kept almost frozen means something. Well for 1 it means it's a liquid, but what else?

The monster (or the liquid substance) is disturbed by the marine biologist studying the melting polar ice caps?

Hi there. I'm new to ARGs, but this stuff has me hooked. I've read through a few pages on this forum, and I hope what I'm posting is helpful:

Regarding the next site - here's what I'm thinking:

The message both on the front page of the slusho site, and in the email that is sent as an auto-reply is "you can't drink just six". This is an anagram for: "A toxic industry's junk", and obviously something we're meant to notice and fixate on. The kanji below the "happy friends" link translates to something like "distributing companies", while the rest of the kanji on the page approximates to the english which appears below it. This is a clue that the next site we're looking for is that of a company associated with the distribution or production of slusho.

Skipping what becomes apparent once you accept this, how to find the name of the company? I think the clues to this lie in the animals moving across the history page. The donkey thinking of a blue oven glove only travels across the screen once - the donkey goes first. The fish thinking of cheese loops across the screen. The title of the company will be two words, or a long word or phrase split in two. The first part of which will be gleaned from the donkey or seahorse, the second part from the fish.

I don't think a frame by frame analysis of the trailer, or a decompiling of the flash sites is going to get us any further. Rather, it will provide confirmation when we do discover the third site.

Hope this is helpful, I seem to be at a bit of an impasse for now.

Tchus!

 Slusho Horse
Slusho Horse

I own a few horses, and the "oven mitt" that appears over the horses head
could also be a horse brush. There are many that are shaped like gloves.

Just an idea....

With the "distributing companies" in mind, it just occurred to me that maybe the swiss cheese is a hint as to the nation of origin of the parent company, because I know sometimes referring to cheese you just use the first word.

The web code for a swiss company is .ch. I already tried a bunch of variations on oven mitt and other things (like ovenmitt.ch, or even trying to translate into swiss with no luck), but it might be a swiss webpage we are supposed to find next.

Also, been reading since seeing Transformers a week ago, but just signed up today. I loosely followed the Lost ARG, but this is the first OBSESSION.

In the trailer there is a girl who seems to be deliberately keeping her back to the camera, on the back of her jacket it says "Switzerland." So there's your swiss cheese connection?

Where is the girl? I just rewatched and didn't see her. Maybe the front of her shirt has another clue.

MITT.ch is a technology and futurist website that looks unrelated.

I think we're onto something with the "Swiss" connection, but the key now is figuring out how the mitt, donkey, and/or fish factor in.

Perhaps the fish doesn't factor in, and just happens to be there because their underwater...there are LOTS of fish around. The donkey, on the other hand, is out of place.

Could someone post a screenshot of the duck basket from the Downloads page. It's a significant clue, seeing as it is some of the new content that was added yesterday. The patterns on it indicate a potential code to me.

Here is the duck basket.

I can't help but notice the pattern resembles less than and greater than symbols, just like the flying V of geese/ducks.
