Gah! Nothing in the Flash assets, that's for sure... There are files on that server we aren't seeing.

Anyone know anyone who works at Akamai? Smile

page doesn't exist for me.

I think you meant www.ambergris.org

and I don't see how that's related in the slightest. I realize amber gris is what pygmy whales (aka the littlest whale) produce, but what on that website makes you think it has anything to do with the movie?

Using the cups as a cipher

Ok, so here is what I am thinking -- the whole history section has an odd syntax and lots of bizzarely positioned exclamation points. We are meant to think this is because this is a Japanese site and it didn't translate well. BUT, what if there is a hidden message in there and in order to make it "work" they had to switch a few words around so it didn't quite make sense in normal English?

So to that end, here's what I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to do. At the bottom are the 17 cups. The 4th, 11th, 13th and 14th cups are full. If you treat this as the "key" to deciphering the message, you get some weird combos -- for example, taking every 4th, 11th, 13th and 14th word in the text and then restarting the count at 17. HOWEVER, this is complicated by the fact that I don't know whether to include the "SLUSHO!" and "HISTORY" at the top of the page in the count, or the first line, for that matter, since that changes up the counts. Anyways, here is what I have tried so far... doesn't make much sense to me, but maybe someone else will see something.

Starting with Slush logo on top, every 4th,11th,13th &14th word - doesn't make sense
Slusho! Noriko refreshment her amounts of Noriko she did opened...

Starting with "The Slusho story..." on top, every 4th,11th,13th &14th word - does'nt make sense:
is dedicated life to smallest amounts beverages at much not while the rather fruits and other...

Starting with "the slusho story..." every 4,11,13,14th letter - S s o r a t i u i i a d...

Starting with "Noriko Yoshida..." every 4,11,13,14th letter - i i a d e f t o...

Starting at the end and working backwards didn't yield anything... but maybe someone else has a better idea...

Good deal...but since I'm useless on codebreaking, I went another direction: Missing Person.

If Noriko is missing, usual first place to start is immediate family. Only we don't know how to find them. So, backing up, I decided to look for her father, since she's missing and presumed dead and we have no last name for Ganu, and no name for cousin. A search of that - or any of the names provided - brings up an endless stream of UF and cloverfield links Razz

I went with an obvious thing noted in the story - they specifically give us her father's (whole) name. I found that curious unless it's a Japanese thing. Usually if we get the kid's last name we're pretty sure it'll be the father's last name (and don't nitpick the shit, I'm making a point). We were just told her name is Noriko Yoshida. When referring to her father, they put both first and last name there, and go on to note these things initially took place on his farm in Honshu.

Yoshida Farms is what I started with and was actually a little jolted when this came up as first link in the list:

http://www.yoshida-fish-farms.com/

It's in Japanese (I'm assuming) but aside from graphical text, the actual text just comes up as squares for me so who knows what it says.

I DID do a whois and the site has been online since 2004 I think it said and nothing there using NS seemed all that curious. However, I'm also considering this would be a cold find and not so much a step by step discovery where some information is not known. And considering that if it has any relation, it could be a revamped site to participate in this.

I don't know. I'm just sharing....and if someone can translate the graphic stuff or check it out closer and rule it in or out that would be great.

At any rate, I am off to see about locating her pops...if this is even an open trail.

IT IS NOT RAMPAGE.

Abrams has been reported as saying that it is NOT an adaptation of anything, it is not a remake, it is not a prequel or a sequel- this is an entirely new concept.

Not to mention in rampage it is SCUM SODA, not frickin Slusho.

So let's keep the conversation on here dedicated to all things Slusho!

No offense, but "secret source" talking to a Colorado reporter =/= JJ Abrams.

Response to the HD Trailer

Ok, i've watched the trailer a bunch of times now and i've also watched nighthawks vids (great work keep it up) on you tube. this is what i think.

the initial explosion is interesting because it almost looks like a mushroom cloud. now for it to be an explosion like this there would have to be a powerful blast that came down directly. I keep second guessing myself but ive narrowed it down.

A monster - Ok a new type of monster, which comes from the sea. now in the trailer you'll hear the initial roar sounding kind of drawn out and moanish. i think the beast comes in from the harbor and digs under the city and he comes up after that explosion clears away. also, nighthawk said the liberty head might of come from the ground which would prove my theory correct. I also believe that the Woolworth building was NOT destoryed by this explosion it was just illuminated by the light of the explosion. the dude wearing the slusho shirt is Eric Bana from lucky you and munich. just thought u guys might want to know that.

A demon - Ok so then i started thinking, ok that initial roar doesnt quite sound like an animal, maybe its a demon of some sort. people have been talking a lot about the number 6 and 9 both relating to the anti christ and the devil. the explosion from the ground could also be related to the demons coming up from hell. just a thought

keep up the good work everyone im really excited to see what everyone finds.

Um...no. Sorry, but despite what you may believe, that is definitely NOT Eric Bana.

just a thought

so i dunno if it's been said, b/c thirty-x pages is too much to read, but there are 18 cups and you cant drink just six. six times 3 is 18. 6 three times is 6-6-6. apocalypse? i also heard it had to do with the hp lovecraft creature the chuthlu (sp?). again, that too may have been stated, and it could also be wrong.

Just something I found

I posted this in the other thread, but since I was searching for slusho stuff, thought I'd put it here as well.

Ok, so I *have* read all 194 pages Surprised up to this point, and I've done ARG's in the past *yay for me*... I started looking at the history on slusho again and began searching on one part at a time. I chose the "secret ingredient", and did a google search for "ocean floor pressure extreme cold", and found the following:
http://www.resa.net/nasa/ocean_methane.htm

Code:
The latest and greatest is the discovery of a very wierdo worm living on methane hydrate extrusions in the Gulf of Mexico. Methane hydrate is solid ("frozen") at the bottom of seas and oceans, even though the temperature is above what is sealevel freezing for this chemical - the pressure there allows the solid state to maintain despite a "non-freezing" temperature (but, never fear, it's cold anyway).

There is estimated to be just one humongous lot of this methane hydrate just under the seafloor along the continental shelves and since methane is just the greenhouse gas par excellence, we better hope that the oceans don't warm up enough to turn the solid hydrate to gas. Here and there the hydrate extrudes out from under the sediment and this was the locus of the recent discovery of ...
Hydrates
These gas hydrates are actually natural methane-water ices, which form under conditions of high pressure and low temperature in many areas worldwide. Gas hydrate is a crystalline solid consisting of gas molecules, usually methane, each surrounded by a cage of water molecules. It looks very much like water ice. Methane hydrate is stable in ocean floor sediments at water depths greater than 300 meters and, where it occurs, it is known to cement loose sediments in a surface layer up to several hundred meters thick.

The Worm
... discovered a new species of polychaete worm living on the exposed surface of a methane gas hydrate mound. These pink worms (now called "ice worms") are about 1-2 inches in length, and apparently sculpt the surface of the gas hydrate by the hundreds. It is not yet known to what extent the worm colonies use the hydrate mounds for protection or nutrition, but they are at present the only animals known to inhabit this unique habitat.

A team of university scientists photographed and sampled the worms living on and within mounds of methane ice on the floor of the Gulf of Mexico about 150 miles south of New Orleans. Although scientists had hypothesized that bacteria might colonize the gas hydrates, this is the first time animals have been found living in the methane mounds.

It is not known what influence these dense colonies of marine worms, called polychaetes, have on these energy-rich gas deposits.

Yes, the site is OOG as far as I can tell - thought it was an interesting article, which may give some springboard to the slusho searches.

So, we've got the "littlest whale" who was always thirsty. She was drinking, or HYDRATING, all of the time. Then there's methane...hmmmm....me/thane...me ethan....HOLY CRAP. ME ETHAN HYDRATE!!!!! Ethan Haas can't drink just six!!!!! Ethan Haas is Noriku!!!! Back in game, baby!!!!!

We're gonna need a whole bunch more research on this! tinag222, get right on that, will 'ya? Laughing Wink

I meant to post this here. Instead I posted it on another thread...now it's here. Don't mind me.

Slusho Animal Pop-Up Guide (so we know what's popping up when)

Here are the buttons and what pops up when you mouse over them. The first animal pops up on the left and the second on the right. There is one exception, noted below.

Customer Feedback: Donkey / Fish
Store: Frog / Fish
Downloads: Frog / Duck
History: Donkey / Duck
Happy Talk: Donkey / Fish
Flavors: Fish Only

"Flavors" is different in two ways. First, it's the only one where only one animal pops up. Second, it's the only one where the first animal to pop up comes up on the right side. All the rest of them, the first animal is on the left.

Note that there are only two animals on each side. An even distribution of animals would have each one popping up three times. Only the donkey does that, though.

Here's a breakdown of how often the animal pops up and when:

Donkey (3) - Customer Feedback, History, Happy Talk
Fish (4) - Customer Feedback, Store, Happy Talk, Flavors
Frog (2) - Store, Downloads
Duck (2) - Downloads, History

Also, there is a pattern to what pops up. Each animal pops up twice in a row - unless you "wrap" the pop-ups. If you do that, the fish again breaks the pattern, popping up four straight times.

You pattern recognition savants may find other patterns in the pop-ups. That's what I saw looking it over.

"Flavors" is the pattern-breaker and it breaks two of them, the "animal order" pattern (where they appear twice, wait once, then appear once), and the "appearance number" pattern (where each animal should appear three times).

If we wanted to "correct" the "Flavors" bubble, it would bring up the Frog first, then the Duck. That would make the pattern matrix look like:

Customer Feedback: Donkey / Fish
Store: Frog / Fish
Downloads: Frog / Duck
History: Donkey / Duck
Happy Talk: Donkey / Fish
Flavors: Frog / Duck (Currently: Fish Only)

Please fix this, it is inaccurate according to what slusho.jp does on my cpu, and possibly others. Maybe a third tester is in order here before this is re-added, but on mine its:

Customer Feedback: Horse (Left)
Store: Fish (Right)
Downloads: Frog (Left)
History: Duck (Right)
Happy Talk: Horse (Left)
Flavors: Fish (Right)

Every single time.

That's weird

I need to know what browser you are using and what level of quality (found by right-clicking and selecting "quality" you are using for Flash.

But it's not inaccurate on my browser. I just retested it to confirm it before I made this post. I'm using the most recent release of Firefox 2.0.

Slusho Zoom factiods...
Symmetry of Slusho

Hey...Some symmatries in the Slusho opening page:

7 lollipop-style green trees on either side of the cup *2 are obscured by drops of Slusho navigation buttons as the page loads

Three background hills in shadow on either side

Foreground on either side of the cup in green is symmetrical

Three drops one right, three drops on left

Drops have shadows, three on right, three on left

Each button puts up an animal icon when rolled over, three appear on the left three appear on the right

18 sunbeams that alternate color on the left side of the cup

18 (i believe....i didn't actually pshop this and count em, someone with more gumption can handle that) sunbeams that alternate color on the right side of the cup...

The cup conceals sunbeams...again, I don't have the gumption to pause the stuff and count those too...

Between the drops, the center space between the two groups of three is larger than the other groups.

Things that do not jibe with the 'symmetry' of the first page:

Girl and boy do, but girl is not symmetrical with the dots on her dress

Boy splits down the middle except clasps for shirt.

The clouds are obviously not symmetrical.

End of Symmetry Facts for opening page...

"Slusho Zoom" = I'm pretty simplistic, so I did what it suggested and zoomed on the instances of Slusho! on the pages. Namely the cups, and where possible the word Slusho! as it appears. All pretty much seems to be normal...with the exception of the manually rotated cup on the History pages. There seems to be, when you zoom in, on the bottom red stripe there's a graphical glitch...a black dot. Dunno what it could be or the methodology of zooming in further than the controls of the page.

So...Some basic research of the first page, on the order of symmetrical stuff. And Slusho Zooming brought forth that graphical quirk...might be nothing.
