Please fix this, it is inaccurate according to what slusho.jp does on my cpu, and possibly others. Maybe a third tester is in order here before this is re-added, but on mine its:

Customer Feedback: Horse (Left)
Store: Fish (Right)
Downloads: Frog (Left)
History: Duck (Right)
Happy Talk: Horse (Left)
Flavors: Fish (Right)

Every single time.

I need to know what browser you are using and what level of quality (found by right-clicking and selecting "quality" you are using for Flash.

But it's not inaccurate on my browser. I just retested it to confirm it before I made this post. I'm using the most recent release of Firefox 2.0.

Mine also changes animals every time.

This time though (I ran my pointer over each numerous times to makes sure there wasn't some kind of pattern to the way the animals came up):

Customer Feedback: Donkey, Donkey, Donkey, Nothing, Donkey
Store: Fish, Frog, Fish, Frog, Fish Frog
Downloads: Duck, Frog, Duck, Frog, Duck, Frog
History: Duck, Donkey, Duck, Donkey, Duck, Donkey
Happy Talk: Donkey, Fish, Donkey, Nothing, Donkey
Flavors: Fish, Nothing, Fish, Nothing, Fish, Nothing

I'm not good with patterns, but I have a feeling there's SOMETHING to that. Can anyone come up with anything from that?
Only Customer Feedback, Happy Talk, and Flavors pop up without an animal avatar. Happy Talk and Flavors are two of the pages that don't work...

I'm going to go bang my head against a wall now, lol
(I'm using newest version of Firefox)

Symmetry of Slusho

micturatingbenjamin wrote:

Please check that again and get back to me. That's not what happens on my Slusho main page. Read my post above.

Quote:

Things that do not jibe with the 'symmetry' of the first page:

Also, the number of cups on each side - total, empty, and full - are not symmetrical.

Quote:

"Slusho Zoom" = I'm pretty simplistic, so I did what it suggested and zoomed on the instances of Slusho! on the pages. Namely the cups, and where possible the word Slusho! as it appears. All pretty much seems to be normal...

I still find it interesting that the bottom part of the page (the cups and the slogan) is a rasterized graphic, meaning that it gets all pixellated when you zoom in. The Japanese script that appears in the big cup when you mouseover a bubble is not either.

The rest of the site is vector graphics, meaning that it remains smooth when you zoom in.

That's what I'm getting, too.

In order from left to right: Donkey, Fish, Frog, Duck, Donkey, Fish.

I swear I checked this not only before I made my above post but after Tkar's post. I also saw the same thing when I posted the Slusho page to my site.

I even went and cleared out my browser cache and checked it after Tkar's post and it worked the way I had said before. Now it's working the way YOU said.

I am not very %^^&_)(*)$%E$%* happy right now...

It may be time spent on site going back and forth and playing with options such as Loop that caused that. Not sure but I am using the newest IE and high qual.

I haven't been playing with the Flash options really at all. What I posted earlier is what I've been getting every time I visit the Slusho site, even after the first change to the site.

This, tonight, is a definite change. What it means, I have no earthly idea.

Japanese Names

Hey Guys. I've read everything everywhere on here. First forum post ever.
For those of you doing name investigation related to SLUSHO! I'm pretty sure the Japanese use last names first. Take for instance Takami Katsushiro. Takami is the family name, Katsushiro is given name. I don't think this would affect google searches, but it might be valuable?

Has anyone proven that "new" expanded version of pic 3 from 1-18-08 to be a fake yet?

If it helps, I did mine a little differently lol
I ran my pointer over each one 5 times before moving to the next link.

This time while re-doing that method my results were the same with acception of the feedback... which I may have fudged the first time or scrolled over once by accident or something like that:

Feedback: Donkey, Nothing, Donkey, nothing, Donkey, Donkey, Donkey (ok so that's more than 5... but it was different so I kept going)
Store: Fish, Frog, Fish, Frog, Fish
Downloads: Duck, Frog, Duck, Frog, Duck
History: Duck, Donkey, Duck, Donkey, Duck
Happy Talk: Donkey, Fish, Donkey, Fish, Nothing
Flavors: Fish, Nothing, Fish, Nothing, Fish

I just rechecked it and it's back to doing what I posted the very first time...with one exception.

Before, the first mouseover gave you the fish on the right. Now, it gives you nothing and the fish comes second.

Here's how I test. I mouseover the bubble and wait until the graphic goes away on its own, then I move off and mouse over again. I wait until that disappears and go to the second bubble.

So it's pretty much back to my original post - at least for those of us using Firefox 2.0.

Since it's something that I overlooked before, and something that would easily be overlooked for a long time and might have something to it after all, I'll confirm how mine show up, using latest version of Firefox and Flash player:

Customer Feedback: Will appear as Horse, on the left side, as long as I don't mouseover again before it disappears. If I mouseover the button before the animal disappears, it will alternate between Horse on the left and Fish on the right. Additionally, if I mouse over JUST as the thought bubble disappears, NOTHING will appear.

Store: Always alternates, starting with Fish on the right, followed by Frog on the left, back to Fish on the right again.

Downloads: Will begin with the opposite-side animal than the button before it. (If there was an animal on the left from the previous button, the animal from this button appears on the right; and vice-versa) UNLESS it was Horse on the left side before it, then Frog appears on the left side. The animals alternate between Frog on the left and Duck on the right.

History: Will begin with the opposite-side animal than the button before it, UNLESS it was Fish on the right side before it, then Duck will appear on the right side. Otherwise it alternates between Horse on the left and Duck on the right.

Happy Talk: Same exact action as Customer Feedback.

Flavors: Will alternate between Fish on the right and NOTHING, starting with Fish.

That's how it works for me. Your mileage may vary.

Ok...

I did a shift+refresh, and now my version is behaving like yours...here's a new analysis...God, I sound pretty pretentious...analysis...sheesh...

Hold on, to make this easy, I'll start with once / twice statements beginning with the first drop on the farthest left.

If you mouse over it once, horsey appears on left, a second mouse over, whale on right.

Next one over: Frog on left, whale on right

Next one over: frog on left, ducky on right

Next one over: horsey on left, ducky on right

Next one over: horsey on left, whale on right

Last drop: first over = nothing!, second over = whale on left...

How it seems to work is: first pass from left to right =

First drop = Horsey on left
Second drop = Whale on right
Third drop = Frog on left
Fourth drop = ducky on right
Fifth drop = Horsey on left
Sixth drop = Whale on right

If you mouse over them a second time follpwing the first =

First drop = Whale on right
Second drop = Whale on right
Third drop = ducky on right
Fourth drop = horsey on left
Fifth drop = whale on right
Sixth drop = nothing

Oy. This is making my mind feel like...burning...Hope...helps...Me Grimlock Me Brain Not Think Time Good.

Gah.

I think i've pretty much crapped on my theory of there being some kind of DEFINITE pattern to the avatars popping up.

I ran my test a third time.
This time with Feedback, I got Donkey (right) every time, as opposed to before where occasionally he didn't pop up.

Store, Downloads, History were the same as my previous two tests

Happy Talk gave me a Donkey every time this time, whereas before it was Donkey/Fish

Flavors was the same as previous two tests.

What does this mean? F*** if I know, lol.

A HA!
Well..

Okay, first...

I'm on a lap top using a touch pad.

mousing over for me is a slow deliberate swipe with one second or so between mouse overs. doing it as I suspect you are, going over it like i would with a mouse up/down/up/down rapidly, I can reproduce the infinite horsey behavior.

In fact, it seems time related. it does not register a fast swipe over it, but if you allow time for the image of say horsey to appear with his thought balloon, and then swipe over again, the whale appears.

It's time related to the balloons appearing.

HAHAHAHA! Now I'm insane! WHEEEE!

Add me to the insanity club, for I too am using the hellish touchpad.
I mouse over the button, wait til mr. Donkey goes away, take my pointer away, and then mouse over again.
Infinite Donkey still.

eeeehhhhhh, can I go cry now?

I have solved the other issue...

If you wait too long it reverts to off = Meaning it will show the first in the pair. so if you swipe too slow it will show the first of the pair every time.

First drop = Horsey....
wait 1 second (one thousand one...) swipe...it becomes a whale on the rigth side.

If you wait to 3 seconds... it becomes the horsey every time

I think this is correct, fundamentally.

Don't know how this is significant.
