I'm totally confused. All this happened on my train ride home. As far as I can tell, the phone message changed again, which led to the "3463 5467K" site, which mapped Kiosks and listed a coded phrase. The Kiosks gave a clue to how to decode the coded phrase (cipher), which in turn led to the server 2 page.

But where did the "keys" come from that people used to "unlock" the server?

I code led to a page that generated a code and then that lead to the next server.

I was the 3rd one in too on complete luck.

I went to one of the stores on the map, and the only thing they had going on was If you pre order Halo 3 today you get a 4 ft tall graphic of the Master Chief when you pick up your copy of the game. Going to go to Gamestop tomorrow, they might be better informed than Circuit City.

If I remember correctly, what was required of you was to go to the demo station they had set up, open the Halo 3 submenu on the Games blade, and click the "Invisible" option below the health warning. It gives you a modified version of "Starry Night," which gave you a quote by Vigenère. Using the Vigenère cipher with that quote as a key, you're able to decode the random block of text found on the Find Kiosk map.

There. I just saved you a trip to Circuit City Very Happy

Seeing the key distribution page in my browser made me take the first "double take" I think I've ever taken. I saw the black background, assumed it was another countdown page, rolled my eyes--then spend a full five seconds staring at the screen and at the key staring back at me. Good times.

I already went. Razz I think there is more to this than just that though. I thumbed through the videos there and did not see a Halo 3 section. Also people are saying that gamestop has promotional stuff. It's a 5 minute trip, so I don't care if there is nothing there. It gives me a chance to go to Gamestop, I think I need to upgrade my presell to Legendary anways.

Ok. I live in the gigharbor/tacoma area....

I zoomed way in on the map of our area and the Target (Gig Harbor Washington) dot was in the wrong spot, not sure where it was exactly, but it wasnt Target.

Holy crap. I can't believe all this happened while I was at work.

That's crazy. Too bad I was skeptical about Flood Containment Control.

I feel userhck, I got it too, I submitted a windows live ID customer support problem report for it hopefully I can figure out how to resolve it before the next server opens up. If i find out anything helpful i'll post about it. Args.bungie.org had something on how to fix it but it does not follow for a windows live id account.

I had the same problem even though I filled in my DOB at the time of setting up the account. I was viewing in Firefox so I tried IE7 and it worked - from then on it worked in Firefox too... wierd.

Help?
Please?

Ok, I'm kinda new to the ARG scene, and I'm not very savvy with all the different terms and I'm definitely not a computer wiz. How am I supposed to decipher the random block of characters that pops up when I highlight a red dot on the map? Do I have to go to the particular store or whatever, with my little cap and magnifying glass, and search the store from top to bottom for clues like Sherlock? I'll be checking back to see if anyone has replied to this everyone half hour or so.

I'm afraid it's already been solved.

The Xbox 360 Kiosks in the stores had hidden messages; a quote by a particular person. Looking him up, the guy had invented a particular cypher, and the quote by him along with the knowledge of what cypher it was decrypted the random block of characters.

And what did the block say? And where is everyone else on this at the moment?

Translated the block said:
Quote:
Report two zero six Every sixteen hours another planet is taken The numbers being lost
are astronomical Report two two three Host
world raised Correct concentration to point sixty five Fleet losing control falling
back Rendezvous at Nine Bravo Kilo Two Romeo Six

At this moment in time, we're basically looking over the content from Server 02. That would be the starmap (plus the earlier one we had), an audio file (the 719Hz thing), a video, and a flood infection image. If you check the threads with those in the title, you should get up to date.

There's also the wiki, which is very handy for catching up (that's how I caught up on Server 05).

Wow, I just realized that in the decrypted block of characters, the reports are numbered 206 and 223. Two segments in the 206.16.223.65 IP. I'm stupid, lol.

Oh, and in the message, it says:

Report 206:
Every sixteen hours another planet is taken. The numbers being lost are astronomical.
Report 223:
Host world raised. Correct concentration to point sixty five
