The Forerunner ship can definitely make the journey in less then a month. If you watch the final cut scenes of halo2 you can tell the chief hasn't moved very far within the forerunner vessel even though he has jumped from Delta Halo to Earth(i believe if you scour halo.bungie.org you can find the article outlining this) . I also would assume we would start playing right after this event takes place. If not there had better be a cut scene that explains why.

I'm not saying that it's impossible for the events to take place within a month, but I'm saying that I'm sure that there are plenty of reasons it could take longer. Given that there's evidence of Halos being present in the game, I think that it's possible that there may be reason to visit at least one of them first (I have a hard time believing that the ark won't be the climax of the game). I mean, I still think it's a safe bet that the events are happening pretty close together, and probably within the timespan of a month (it is a quick moving storyline). But since we don't know that they didn't {have a ship malfunction, realize they need a key artifact, decide that they should follow a completely unexpected course of action, stop for slurpees}, I think we should at least keep an open mind to the events taking a bit longer to unfold than we would naturally assume.

True, I do remember somewhere that Halo 3 is suppose to take place in December, but I can't find anything on it right now.

We start playing the game wherever the Halo: Uprising comic leaves off, because it's suppose to fill in the gap between the very end of H2 and the very beginning of H3.

On the topic of glyphs..and the 719HZ / Closed Glyph picture. If you guys have seen the Halo 3 E3 2007 video, at approx. 01:28 into the video, you can see what appears to be either the 719Hz moon phase glyph..or the closed glyph that adjutant had as an avatar. I'm not sure if bungie was doing this on purpose for us but they are definitely not taking a break from keeping us on our toes..^^

I'm a complete noob who just wants to get into this ARG, so please don't flame. Smile

I opened up 719Hz.wav on my computer, and was trying to figure out what it was. I couldn't, so I just left it. Anyway, this was pure coincidence, but I wanted to change the visualisation in the media player, so I started playing around with them.. until I got the one that you see in the screenshot below. I played the clip and saw that...

I was completely Shocked !

Anyway, I come on here and see that someone's already found it, oh well. Razz

I'm posting a screenshot of what I see. I don't know why there are two slightly differing images in that media player, but it's interesting that they are different.

Also note that there are six evenly separated marks to the right of the lower one.. they might mean something. Razz

It's fftgraph in Totem Movie Player.

I've just realised something else that's a bit odd with it as well - this is the only sound that I open up which produces two images - everything else (no matter what file format), only has one..

this has two... Cool

it's the same image, just rotated horizontal (different axes).
there are two because there's a left and right channel and it was visualizing both.

Ah, the dual channel thing makes sense.

But it isn't flipped horizontally - one has parts the other doesn't have.

Anyway, you'd just put them together and get the full image.

Has anyone looked at Genesis 7:19?

Quote:
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.

no there are slight differences between the left and right channel; the reason for that is still unknown, but it's not a 3d image (L/R stereo)

Yeah, I can see the difference... Interesting.

And yes, biblical references to Genesis 7:19 and 7:13 have been made and discussed before, give me a moment to find the thread...

EDIT: Here is a thread which discusses biblical references in the ARG. There are others, both on this forum and others (such as ABO), but I'm too lazy to find them. Cool

I thought the differences between the channels was because the timing was offset slightly in one.

Overlayed the left and right channel, clears things up a bit

no there are frequency and wave differences as well. Take a look at the image on the wiki to see the differences. For the most part they are identical, but there are, aside from a bit of off timing, other differences, but more a general difference in volume level across its span rather than odd spikes here or there. hard to explain in words

One more little thing, this probably won't help much but I did my best to overlay the two images we have, I worked around with it for a bit, and it seems to line up the best when rotated in this direction, notice how the "blob" in the upper right line up quite well. I changed the other color to yellow to show the two different images.
