Does it normally get up to 63 degrees in the middle of January at 12:32 AM?? Seems a bit warm to me in my opinion.

*sigh*, this has been tackled like 80 times in this thread alone. Use the search if you are too lazy to read.

I'm not too lazy to log into my account. Second, I searched and did not come up with a mention of the temperature in this thread, thank you very much.

According to weather.com, the average *high* for New York City in January is 39 degrees, and the *record high* for January is 68 degrees. So, 63 degrees is pretty unusual -- especially for around midnight. We just aren't sure what to do with this "clue". Some people have theorized that it has something to do with global warming, but I don't agree with that theory.

map posted in new user's post
quick question

A new user just posted a message containing a clip of the poster or map hanging next to the AKM paddle.

I'm sure this has been discussed to death, but I missed it somehow. Could someone kindly refer me to the discussion or fill me in on what's been discovered? The poster looks like a map, and one that's been marked up somehow.

Thanks.

In the "MOAT" ("Mother Of All Threads"), I'm sure it's been mentioned more than 80 times... Law of Averages and all that.

Hi, deletia, name's deletia, good tameetya.

So I looked up the conversation on that map and I found this.

Our conclusion seems to have been that it's a map of manhattan--which makes a lot of sense. However, it just doesn't seem to match up very well to a google map of manhattan (the link's provided in the post I just linked to). Where's Central Park, for instance?

This is bugging me. I mean, here we have a video clip that contains clues to what is at least an ARE if not an ARG, and on the wall in that clip is a map with some sort of writing on it. If that's not a clue, then... then... I don't know. Then I'm going to start getting some work done while I'm at work.

Even if it is Manhattan, I still haven't found a decent explanation of why there are markings on it.

[Please excuse me if I missed some part of our discussion, by the way! There are lots and lots of messages here using the word 'map'.]

yes it hs been discussed but i don't think there was anything conclusive from it, it just doesn't show up that clearly, now if we were to get a pic on the 1-18-08 site with that map in the background then it could be cleared up more. i personally beleive it is not just manhattan but more likely the east coast but then thats just how it looks to me.

I'd like to look over maps of Japan, too, although I know that's already been pursued a bit.

Wow- from that angle it really does look like it!

So if that's the case, then the biggest red marks are just west of a place called Liberty Park.

Say.

That's where the Statue of Liberty is. Isn't it?

So... Rob has a map of Manhattan on his wall with big red marks right by the place where the monster erupts? (at least as far as we know.)

That's a little suspect... right?

Actually, it looks like there are two diff. lands masses mapped on that poster in the trailer.

In the middle of the poster is a column of text, figures, subway times, whatever.. and there looks to be a diff. region mapped on either side of that column of text.

It looks like the land mass on the right side is Manhattan (looks very much like the map just linked by nooneimportant77). I can't tell what's on the left side of that central column of text - too much glare. But, it's that one on the left that has the red markings on it.

Can anyone get a relatively clear shot of that map to post up here?

I can't find a super-appropriate map to demonstrate this, but look at any map of ny city. That land mass in jersey, west of the river? that's what's left/west of the column of text on that map. Some imagination is required, but just use google maps and compare the two areas.

The big red marks are just west of what looks like it could be a field of green. Green on maps usually represent parks. Liberty park west of Manhattan would qualify as a green area.

Disclaimer: I really want this to be the case, because we would finally have a bit of plot on our hands if we could demonstrate that Rob [or, per worngmike's comment, whoever is throwing this party] had some kind of foreknowledge of the attack.

edited because it's difficult to manually type html tags. apparently.
