But what could Jen's IM address be, and why is it her "dirty little secret," hmmm??

This certainly sheds a new light on the original New York Craigslist, which probably points to Jen. I thought she was digging something up. Is she trying to bury something instead?

Even here, in this cursed metropolis, you dig. When you get up in the morning, are you covered in dirt?

Nice! Although because of the shovel I had always connected that one in my mind with the one for Maine from the following week:
Quote:
I heard the scraping of metal against metal. Someone shouted my name. I ran towards them. The hole was just big enough for me to crawl through.
She dropped the shovel and we ran.

If we put them together, could that be Jen digging outside the creepy old house?

Possibly! All three Maine posts are addressed to "w4m" though, but maybe Jen was trespassing? Doesn't sound like the digger in the first one owns the old house. They aren't in any of the other Maine postings either. I suspect the person who shouts is the house's owner and the growls are guard dogs. If the hole is a way to escape or to tunnel into another area, then what metal is the shovel hitting?

Is digging symbolic again? The only other diggers are us, Providence. Our digging is usually in reference to us looking for clues or finding a new site, the MUD, etc. Digging could also mean opening up a way into something; possibly a website. Has Jen ever provided an entrance from one area to another for someone? Art made it sound like a real dirty little secret. Was she a hacker or something else he frowns upon?

Now you've got me thinking aobut the "DLS" and a couple things popped into my head.

Since Jen is the one that runs the betting thread, maybe she addicted to gambling.

She could be an online, er, ah, um, Lady of Pleasure of one type or another.

Jen could have been impersonating any number of people resulting in one or more of the SO tragedies.
- I'd be upset if someone I didn't know came into IM and began talking to me as if we had had many conversations.
- Pretending to be chorazos/BA whoever and making suggestions about sacrifices, etc.
- Impersonating the individual she is talking to and really driving them batty.
- Collector of Crickets
