Zapparoni, you actually did what I was planning to do...
A video dealing with the conversation.
Well... I think I shouldn't have taken a day off...

Awww, sorry DerKork
Maybe next time we can collaborate on a video for the next puzzle solve?

Maybe we could all work on making responses for each of the CM's videos to explain the codes like you did. It might gather more interest, and it would take our mind off waiting.

Maybe we could make a chronological log of all codes solved. Would take a long time and research but people could watch videos to catch up on stuff rather than sift through all the info. Plus, like Jab pointed out it would generate interest. (That being said I'm not sure I would be able to help and you don't mind being called Jab do ya'. It sounds like a fighter, Jab "Fast Fists" Roni. She's got the quickest left hook this sida' the Galapagos Islands.

A chronological log? That would be heavy on the textual side of videos - if you want to see such things on YouTube.
Besides that: Would it really be interesting to show every code we ever solved in this ARG up to now? I doubt it.
When we gather all things interesting in this game, put it together in one video, I'll be more than happy to do the editing stuff..

Hmm...
Just my two cents: although the interest of textual puzzle solve videos have the possibility of it being not so interesting, it could help to draw in potential ARG players. As it stands THP has been ongoing for...a year and a half? That's quite a bit of back logging to do, and right now the only way people have access to catch up to this game is reading all the threads spanning a year and a half long.
One of the fastest ways to catch up could be creating video solves for each video puzzles!
I think the purpose of the videos would actually help to 1) give viewers an opportunity to follow puzzle solves for those who are not UnFiction members and 2) gain further clarity and insight into the story that could only be gained through solving the puzzles and 3) catch up for those new coming into the game.
In the spectrum of puzzles, it would seem overwhelming for 1 person, but if all work together and contribute, it just might be possible to catch up. Plus I think we'll have a LOT of time in our hands between THP videos.
No offence to CM/PM, you're a cool cat, peace dude peace peace
Personally what I think this ARG may need is just a simple Meta video giving a brief introduction of THP to potential ARGonauts about what this game is. This would serve as a "portal" into the rest of the game/puzzles/interactions.
There was a person on YouTube by the name of Tigerlilylynn who, during the course of the LonelyGirl15 ARG, was creating videos for almost each puzzle solves. Even though a lot of her videos were very textual heavy, the people following the ARGs had watched her videos during the course the ARG was running since she was concise and simple so that people could follow along the puzzles.
She even made a Meta video introducing the ARG which could serve as a sample for us to emulate if we ever decide to make a Meta video of our own

Anywho, that's my two cents/dubloons/loonies/shillings/pesos on the matter

So, what we need is a brief summary of all the characters in this ARG, a summary of phase one and a general introduction to ARGs??
I got some images of the "main cast" (and my images I use in my videos for Sam and Tom) that might be useful for such an introduction.
(I'm currently downloading all the videos so we can use them as illustrations. )

You should do it like it's a trailer for a Romantic Comedy. This is Eric an aspiring Actor. This is Sue, mother to Russ. Sue and Eric are simply meant to be. But Sue has a problem, this guy's Eric's director, who also happens to be Sue's husband, who may very well be this guy (show the CM) have some corny music. Maybe the music gets darker as it proceeds to the CM kidnapping Eric and feeding him cat food. That could be the first few months of the game wrapped into a minute or less video. I think it would be fun to do it that way. Maybe I should get Nicole's flash ripping software and work on some stuff too.

To convert youtube videos to mp3, mov, avi, I use this: http://vixy.net/app/download/windows I think its better to download the program instead of using the vixy website, it seems to be faster.
Edit: Before I think I posted about how I had to first get the flv file, then convert it using different programs depending on what file I needed. I was doing that because I could never get the vixy site to work, it would just sit forever and not load anything. But now that I tried out their program for your computer it is way easier.

Deadfish, I don't have Nicole's supersecret flash-ripping tool, but I get the YouTube files to my hard disk (from which I send them to some website to convert them).
If you want me to give you a step-by-step explanation, PM me. No need to clog this thread with such instructions, don't you agree?

I tried downloading vixy twice but got an error everytime I tried to run it.
EDIT: I went to http://www.koyotesoft.com/ and got the free FLV converter. It seems to work pretty good. I am having trouble getting the audio to work properly in my Adobe Premiere program. I am trying to find a good solution. However, I think it's a good program. I am going to work on the video trailer opening thingy that I mentioned earlier.
EDIT: I will not be doing any video editing because my computer is whack. Sorry.
