[QUESTION] What 3 Favors to ask of Mithras?

What we will be able to do ourselves:
1. If Eidolon throws everyone into the inbetween (those incarcerated under the nave) then we can release them through the hatch and bring them into the temple, get into the sanctuary and through the portal.

2. We can lock the portal behind us (as long as we know that the Eidolon is *in* the temple).

3. We can tell Trinket the full truth about Tutu and what happened to her.

So, what can we not do without the help of Mithras? And keep "The Monkey's Paw" in mind.

1. Reunite Betty with Barney. Not sure if Mithras can bring Barney back (since his mortal body is long gone) but he can release him from the chain of being the Dog of El Portal....not sure how to reunite him with Betty (and NOT kill her to do it). Can he restore his mortal body?

2. Addison reunited with his family. They were killed in a tragic automobile accident (and Higgs blamed Spoocheeeee for that). Maybe they can be together in the great beyond?

3. Thomas (Peeps) can finally be an ordinary man with no more nightmares (but that might happen if we rid the world of Alan Johnson forever).

4. Can we help Happy & Ben be, uh, happy? Her husband (Ben's dad) was an ass, she deserves so much better.

Hearts' desire.... that's pretty open ended. Would include so much, but also be so dangerous.

5. Unite kona with Higgs?

1. Reunite Barney with Betty
2. Reunite Addison with his family
3. Unite Higgs with kona

What if Addison's mortal body isn't dead?

I posted a spec in the Happy Rogers thread. Cause Happy mentioned that if we got Addison out from the in-between, she would want him to come back to stay at her house (like he did for awhile last year).

Maybe Higgs got to his hanging body before he was really dead and was able to somehow take care of it this whole time (yeah, I know, suspension of disbelief, maybe it's in the script and all that).
So I would hate to reunite him with his family by killing him.

Unless we can ask Mithras to bring Addison's family back to life?

I don't think we should ask for Addison's family back. They died a natural death, even if it was orchestrated by Spoocheeeee. I'm not sure that bringing them back would be something Mithras *would* do, even if he *could* (I think he could). But bringing Addison back to life and restoring his mortal body? Yes, I think he can do that. I also think he could do the same for Barney.

My vote is for:

1) Bring Barney back, granting him his mortal body as it was before he was murdered.

2) Restore Addison. (I think this is better than asking to reunite him with his family, because he will eventually die and be reunited with them. He should have the chance to live life without being haunted by Mr. AJ. If Mithras says he can't restore Addison to this world, then we can ask that his soul be sent on to where his family is waiting.)

3) ?

I'm stuck on #3. What else *can't* we do without Mithras's help?

EDIT: What if we ask Mithras the favor of telling us the best way to defeat the Eidolon? He can tell us, then, if we should bring Betty to the temple or let the Eidolon take little Alan and then cast him back out. Maybe this should be our first request, followed by the other two?

So, revised:

1)Guide us to the best way to defeat the Eidolon without harm to Betty or little Alan, or the loss of any of our dear friends.

2) Bring Barney back to Betty, granting him his mortal body as it was before he was murdered.

3) Restore Addison.

I've only been lurking this game even though I am now in the 'inbetween' (whatever that means) and with issues making chat function I can't just talk with you all in RT, so here's my vague & off the cuff thoughts.

Mithras is a "god" right? why not ask for something in grand style, like:

All those who have been hurt in any way or killed by the Evil intents of spoocheeeee be restored to the life they would have had had spoocheeeee never existed.

That all the Sammeeeeees involved in stopping spoocheeeee and AJ be given peace from further harm by any of the entities that may yet survive and spared from further mental trauma because of their efforts.

Or better yet, that all 'souls' or entities that were filled with the evil intent of spoocheeeee be sent into non-existence for eternity and all memory of spoocheeeee removed from earth?

Okay - I know it's a lot to ask, but hey - Mithras is a 'god', right?

My only concern about "all memory of spoocheeeee" is that the Sammeeeees won't know eachother (cause they would have never met in the first place).

I like some of the other points - just need to flesh it out a bit (to be very clear on what we want)?

I figure we don't really know what Barney or Addison want so they should be able to choose themselves.

Alternate 3. Make the Tall Man sane again and get him out with the others.

1. Give all the Sammeeeees their heart's desires.
2. Give all the White Rose's their heart's desires.

How about this:

1. all whose lives have been affected by the evil of Spoocheeeee (or this evil Eidolon, whatever) since Mr. Alan Johnson's soul entered your temple return to the way they were before this evil Eidolon made his false vows to you (Mithras),

2. Free Barney/Reunite Barney and Betty (assuming we can do so without Barney living as a zombie (heehee) or Betty having to die to be w/ him),

3. Bless all of the above so that they may live in peace and happiness for the rest of their time on earth and beyond.

Sort of blanket-covers everyone (Sammeeeees, WRs, and the various others involved), and gives them peace, but not the same as a 'heart's desire' which can be quite dangerous, I agree.

Thoughts in chat remember that for every action is a reaction. And we don't know the timing of this - will the offer occur before or after we have gotten everyone out of the nave?

And maybe we should ask the DoEP what he wants...so I sent an email just now. And October is going to ask those inbetween.

It's been suggested that when we have our three favors, I add that to the page next to the kneeling pictures. So that would be Wednesday (morning would be best time for me to get this done).

I think we should keep this simple. We can't decide what's best for other people, let them decide.

I think the white roses will be fine once they are out of the temple and not haunted by the Eidolon. Peeps was happy with his garden and his family. Mildred and the S/D Nun were fine too. Patricia will be fine when she gets home to Dwin. The Tallman is my only worry.

Addison and Barney are dead. As sad as that is to us maybe it isn't to them. Barney has already said he howls for the Forevermore. Maybe he just wants to move on. He wants us to take care of Betty. Who knows if e wants to come back to life. I think being dead might change your perspective. The dead should choose their own future.

Jean really does deserve a statue

Oh and remember that X-file episode with Muldar and the Genii. We really don't want to go there.

ETA: Maybe Mithras is giving us a chance to make our plan work? Maybe we need to ask that he make it possible to get everyone out of the inbetween and the dark place under the nave. Maybe we need to ask him to keep the eidolon preoccupied. Maybe we ask that our plan is successful.
