888 778 5672 is no longer in service, and the FCC ads have been taken down.

Well that sucks, they could at least explain in some way how the hell they were connected to this whole damn thing. I mean how are we supposed to understand how a present day company ended up with a Forerunner message that was the key to an ancient server?

This is pretty much dead at the moment, and its sad. It started off good with AR, the SOTA demos and the comic, there was a huge buzz and tons of spec, but now...nothing.

Sad

Please Bungie, give us something to puzzle over and work out!

In a way thats almost a good thing...if they do that for all no essential information, then why havent they taken down SOTA...that gives me hope that SOTA will come into play in the near future!

Yeah, it is pretty disappointing. I, too, was looking forward to more puzzles relating to FCC...

But coloneloneill is right. If the FCC has disappeared but SOTA hasn't, then there is hope at least for SOTA to play a part later in the ARG. I hope so!

It seems like after b.net got hacked, they may have had to re-evaluate things. I think things will get much more difficult. We'll find pieces like FCC, but they will serve one purpose. Guide us to the keys. I think that once all 5 servers/ Episodes are unlocked, SOTA membership will be opened and the true hook of the ARG will begin.

Like SOTA is Headquarters, and FCC type things are the missions we're sent on. It also seems with audio Transmission71007 the voice got clearer. The first transmission seems to have the male deep voice as the main voice. But the Higher pitched voice is more prevalent in the second transmission.

Just a random thought...

I feel like it's really lame and kind of absured that they closed it. It's like there was absolutely no story whatsoever behind it; listen to a voicemail recording and pull a random number out of it which leads us to another bunch of totally ambiguous content.

FCC could have been really cool, and if it's gone for good, it's a real shame.

The number at least. Wink They could re-appear in the form of a site.

imagine how much it cost to maintain that number - im not suprised to see it close down

anyway this arg to me doesnt seem as if its going to get complex, i suspect the fcc and sota where just skipping stones , and so will whatever comes next be just a skipping stone to server 3 and so on

At least Tsondie didn't use the more appropriate 'hit it and quit it' phrase. As we hit the site/kiosk, and then they quit it (the game) for a while
