Sure there a freaky days when the weather is warm. but generally mid january is cold... especially at night.

This past january, there was a two week span in which one week was snowy and highs in the mid 20s, and the next week was high 60s, low 70s.

I am not sure about Golem but I definitely how thought about it being a small inanimate object that turn big and can move because if someone says It's huge and alive then it might of been small and inanimate before

True but...

not at after midnight.

I think the photos could be a ruse. If you don't set your camera calendar it defaults to January... but then again they would all have to come from the same camera, which from the way the movie's premise is set up could be possible.

the release date and the movie's happenings don't necessarily have to be the same at all.

I'm just putting it out there.

Yes, unusual and discussed elsewhere.

Which I said several posts back and would support your idea, although it would be a bit cheesy for that to be true, tantamount to the 'it was all a dream' bit on Dallas.

At any rate, we're getting off-topic on this thread.

EDIT: Completely forgot that on the 5th pic Jamie wrote January 2008 on the back, so that blows the idea of the date on the camera being set wrong.

But, but, but...

So everyone lives and they're all trading photos a week or whatever later?

You did notice in the photobucket photos of the daytime shoot that the guy is wearing shorts and she's wearing a summertime top...

oh and coney island isn't really open in January.

I'm just sayin'.

The thought right now is that the cameras were found by a cleanup crew, post disaster. I'd imagine the pictures were found too.

Hi everybody.. Iīm new here (Iīm from Denmark, so sorry if my gramma/spelling is terrible Smile

Anyway.. I thought about this whole movie-monster-concept yesterday (itīs probably old news for many of you):

Perhaps the movie will center around a news-broadcast which will be aired the day after the events - it will be like a pseudo-documentary with clips from various homerecordings / news crews.. since nobody knows anything, they (reporters) are trying to solve the puzzle.. The monster will show in the various homerecordings, but only briefly and from a distance..

It will not be the "monster" thatīs important, but the impact that it inflicted upon the city and its citizens.. peoples various reactions and having to survive and rethink their lifes in "the world after 1-18".. if they want this film to be as realistic as possible, then theyīll probably not show the monster upclose, since everybody would be running in the opposite direction (and those filming would do it from a safe distance)..

But I think itīll center around some sort of post-1-18 broadcast to give it as much of a "real world event" as possible.. itīs all about human emotions (ala Blair Witch) and reactions..

(took me forever to write all of the above text Shocked )

JUST IN!!!!

Well, I'm talking to my friend who travels with Pete (peter jackson) and does oddjobs and sorts for him (awesome having him as a friend, I got king kong on HD DVD before it even came out in theaters) and he said he talked to Peter about it, and he said there's been a buzz about it, but all he knows is that its a mutant (proves slusho theroy) and that its been in the works for roughly a year and a half. Also its (as said before) a flashback on the disaster. It opens to show the wreckage of NYC and then some guys are looking around for survivors and come to 401 Broadway and search the toppled buildings to find a video camera and pictures. The pictures are shown on the 1-18-08 website, and the camera is...the movie. So, we are looking back. Unfortunaltey, he hasnt gotten much more than that outr of him (I bet a few beers can fix that) and when I get new info, it'll be posted here.

Peace.

Problem with the single camera theory...

It's in manhattan... there will be news helicopters, people in apartment buildings... lots of people will have video and photos of the incident.

Unless the monster comes and goes so quickly that no one gets a chance.

Which doesn't seem that plausible.

Although I just had an idea... what if the monster is actually hunting someone specifically down. In the aftermath they are trying to find out why the monster would target some specific people. Then their camera might reveal why...

English looks damn good to me! Wink

I think you're right about the gen. approach to the movie - if they want to keep it realistic and Blair Witchy, then it should be all post 1-18 newscasts and speculation and Rob's video becomes the best record found so far... AND, the ARG is just more of the same: WTF happened on the night of 1-18 and why? [that makes the movie just another part of the ARG, which is pretty cool].

Also, SLUSHO_ZOOM has to be right - I mean, if Hud (or whoever is holding the video camera w/Rob et. al.) managed to keep filming amidst the panic, then other people could as well, so there would have to be more vids & pics - from cellphones if nothing else. Maybe the limiting factor will be the random fact that Rob's video-camera was the only one found intact.

Well, there ARE helicopters, according to the movie poster, last time I checked.

maybe

it is that fast to launch the head off the SOL and then head through the buildings and still have debris of the SOL falling so maybe their cameras were infact the only ones recovered

also as noted earlier on other posts it could be female looking for its "stolen" young and thats why it is specifically after someone

Vid/Pic records of the attack

By the same logic, I cannot believe that a colossal monster could sneak up on New York City (unless it was growing inside the SOL - but... how? why?!). If it came from the water, then it's sheer size alone would make it be detected - by someone - before it got too close to Manhattan. I know there's been talk on other threads about pic 4 w/the soldier, and people saying there's no troops stationed close enough to get there 'so quickly.' But, we don't know when the thing was first detected, so we don't know what "so quickly" means in this context.

I mean, the USA isn't really letting its (our) guard down these days, and esp. around NYC. There's got to be tons of detection equipment all along the East Coast, and again, esp. around NYC (and DC). Even if there wasn't time to muster a full-blown military response, if anyone else would have some record of this thing, it would be the military/government... doncha' think?
