If the bloop exists--and people who studied the sound are convinced it does--then it's the biggest mofo on earth. Considerably bigger than a blue whale, like the little blue whale that is almost certainly supposed to represent Noriko Yoshida on the slusho title page. Analysis of the bloop sound also has some similarities to the first roar in the trailer. The recorded sound of bloop is too big a file to post here, so check the sites above to hear it and draw your own conclusions. Keep in mind that Bloop was picked up by monitors nearly 5,000 miles away and it was probably close to 20 miles beneath the sea. If nothing else, reading about Bloop is an interesting diversion, trust me.

Well the deepest part of the Ocean is a measly 1.25 miles, not 20 sorry.

Umm, using that link you provided, it says that the deepest part of the ocean (Marianas Trench) is 35,839 feet, which converts to about 6.79 miles. That's still a lot less than 20 miles, though. (The 1.25 miles thing comes from if you were to stick Mount Everest into the trench, the mountain would still be covered by over 1.25 miles of water.)

My Idea

I have an idea on the monsters. Yes, plural. I think there are at least two monsters. Why, you ask? If you remember what Abrams said at Comic-Con, he wants us to have our own Godzilla.

Now, in the Godzilla films, Godzilla is the "good" monster and battles a "bad" monster, like Mothra. What I think is that one monster, the "bad" one, originally attacked New York City, and then the "good" monster is comes.

Now you ask "What other clues do you have for this?" Well, I have a few.
#1- People survive. If this monster is bad enough to through the Statue of Liberty's head 6 miles or however long it was measured to be from the trailer and is seen destroying the city, I think it would be a safe bet people wouldn't survive. This is one badass monster. So how do people survive? A "good" monster comes and saves the day.
#2- Look at the poster that was released. You see there's a distinct trail from a monster. But look in the water. Are those water trails? What's in the water? Could it be a "good" monster? Perhaps it is!

Yeah, I know that the second one is a little stretch, considering that the city is already been through the events and it's already the day, but a poster doesn't have to be accurate right down the smallest detail.

That model's kind of scary looking! Maybe it won't look quite so scary once they put its "skin" on.

 two monsters???????????????/

how plausable is it that one or more monster did the damage, asuming one went into the city and another could be heading out hence the recent damage to SOL head? but then again the trailer suggest it was cut of early on but could a second hit to the SOL have happened as one of the monsters escapes?

just asking if its plausable?

plus if it is an animal wont it be swinging its claws at anything remotely its size tearing of the SOL head off?

maybe four posters four monsters??????/maybe??????????? Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question

Actually, according to standard english grammar, several things can be monstrous, furious, terrifying and barbarous without modifying the words at all. Those particular adjectives don't usually have "es" added to them to show a plural subject.

Seriously, guys. Pay attention in 3rd grade. It'll affect you the rest of your life.

ockam's razor, people. we don't need to expect multiple monsters when one monster is enough to do all of the damage.

as for the people surviving angle--what do you mean exactly? who survives? clearly there's a rescue crew, but from where? california? DC? texas? great britain? germany?

Monster Movie battle?

Think of a big ass evil monster coming to Manhattan and wreaking havoc... then an "american" monster steps up to battle it. And all we have are shots from people running around trying to not get stepped on.

Lost of shots looking up and gigantic monsters. Could happen.

A monster showing up and the military killing it isn't so interesting.

Actually, Hoochie, I'm female. And I was attemting to use your sarcasm to prove a point about the general state of the entire forum. I guess my point wasn't very well made. My apologies.
