Yes I am having a opine here...I am finding this game extremelly unfair to those of us who do not live in the UK, visit UK websites, and cannot shop off most UK websites. I know it is not the organisers fault that only UK websites are signing up for game pieces but man....Perhaps they should start encouraging more overseas websites to play the game and buy pieces. I have emailed one site in New Zealand in which international players can both buy and sell on. It is a New Zealand site. Fun people and they would be right into this.

I guess it comes down to how interested other sites would be in purchasing game pieces. I don't know what kind of proven record the GJ organizers have, as far as marketing/advertising reach, so it's hard to say what companies are going to feel comfortable shelling out dollars from advertising budgets to a company like Infinite Ideation. I'd personally be a bit cautious about giving money to a company whose corporate web site offers little more than a flash animation.

I have been trying for hours and still not finished.
Some people have real jobs and families and work during the day.

Did you seriously think that you could win $1,000,000 for just a few minutes work ?

If you've got "real jobs and families and work during the day" STOP playing with Jigsaws !

Regards "I have been trying for hours and still not finished".
I found the site immediately and had both pieces in my jigsaw within 30 minutes.
You've either got it or you haven't, and it's going to get a lot tougher and more time consuming in the coming months.
I'd give up now if I were you.

I never said that I put a "few minutes work" into this - I said I put hours into this just tonight alone.

I never said that I have a real job and a family and work during the day. I said that "some people" have a real job and a family and work during the day. That doesn't mean that I do.

Well good for you.

A wiki is now available at http://goldenjigsaw.despoiler.org, which has (I believe) all of the known information about this campaign to date.

We have disabled wiki editing by guests because it exposes user IP addresses. If you choose to register an account (registration is free), you may want to pick a username unrelated to any you've been using if you wish to remain anonymous (we will keep your registration information private). Usage of the wiki is limited to players and meta-players of the campaign and is subject to a modified version of the Terms of Service that apply to these forums.

Enjoy!

why would you post that site on here. That's just as bad as publishing the answers in your post. Please remove it and let everyone play fair

wow, did not expect that Razz

the interesting thing is that, because you can't play, you can't get the information to put on the wiki.

So the wiki can only be updated if someone gives you that information. So it's really not you cheating (since you're not playing) or ruining it for anyone else, because it's other players that are taking initiative to give you the answers. This'll be an interesting faceoff Razz

I bet that's (the wiki) an address that wont be allowed on Perplexorum. They've even started censoring the mention of this site over there.

This is getting interesting to watch. I have a feeling that the originators of GJ really hadn't done thier homework and were unaware of the likes of this forum and the online community. I'm just surprised at Perplexorum for rolling over.

And when the company behind the Golden Jigsaw pulls the plug because it's pointless having a "treasure hunt" when all the treasure is piled up in the same place for all to see, who is going to lose out ?
Well somebody won't be winning the $1million will they ?

You can not control the internet

A game like GJ that is totally internet based comes along and suddenly thinks it can police the whole web and control who puts what and where, they must be either crazy or very arrogant if they think they can pull that off for the lifetime of the game, either that or they have a cash flow that allows them to employ 500 people 24/7 to monitor what gets posted where and by who and back track that to see if it was posted by one of their players.

The rules seem to be very draconian for such a so called new concept and the ways round them seem to be plentiful.

I think what they need to do is chill out and just appreciate the fact that if the game is getting publicity of any sort then it is a good thing as without players in large numbers they wont be selling any of their pieces and I am sure if potential buyers contact previous sites that held pieces they would get a rough idea of how much potential passing trade they might pick up and I would guess a this time that spending money on google adwords is a better way of getting money in for money spent on gimmicks.

It's a game and it should not be taken to seriously, well not at least for another 970 pieces, and lets face it this will probably be won by some geek that starts playing in the last week of the game and just visits the whole list of sites that will be available on the web by then and collects the all the pieces in one session.

Just have fun with it and if you do get your profile on the game deleted just create another one with a different address and start again you don't have to find the pieces again as they are already on your PC.

All the best

Ahh guys I wold be careful about this also...they can track your isp address and snoop on you that way. Even though it is on a public website...I would still play carefully.
