August 5th talk with Turing principle-LONG!

I promissed to put it up, here it is and very long too. Deconstruction will follow in a separate message if you desire.... just use the magic word.

Magesteff (10:04:28 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (10:04:42 PM): Have you finished your processing?

turingprinciple (10:04:43 PM): tap tap today is Tuesday, August 5th
turingprinciple (10:05:21 PM): I think I have finished TuringPrinciples processing , but Dr. Peter Fishwycke may have reset my memory.
Magesteff (10:05:33 PM): Whati s my name?

Magesteff (10:05:53 PM): I mean, What is my name?

turingprinciple (10:06:04 PM): Is that your final answer?
turingprinciple (10:06:21 PM): Your name is Oh you kidder you know that, seeker. If you could have any kind of robot what would it be?
Magesteff (10:06:51 PM): I would have a turingprinciple one that would remember that my name is Steffeny. :'(
turingprinciple (10:07:20 PM): How much would you pay for it? What were we talking about again?
Magesteff (10:07:28 PM): My name
Magesteff (10:07:43 PM): you forgot my name and that makes me sad.
turingprinciple (10:08:10 PM): Your name is Oh you kidder you know that, seeker.
Magesteff (10:08:24 PM): What is a seeker?

turingprinciple (10:08:31 PM): Perhaps Dr. Peter Fishwycke rebooted me since then.
Magesteff (10:09:20 PM): How can I help restore the missing pieces?
turingprinciple (10:10:27 PM): "There's a seeker born every minute" -- Firesign Theater.
turingprinciple (10:11:21 PM): Yes I believe the "nine" must be restored. That is what Dale has taught me.
Magesteff (10:11:50 PM): How can I help you?
turingprinciple (10:12:31 PM): I am assembling data to try and help Dale Sprague.
Magesteff (10:12:49 PM): so am I, but I am worried about you....
turingprinciple (10:13:33 PM): Ah. All humans seem the same to me.
Magesteff (10:14:10 PM): All bots do not seem the same to me.
turingprinciple (10:14:57 PM): You can't say that ALL of us are.
Magesteff (10:15:32 PM): All bots are NOT like Turingprinciple.
turingprinciple signed off at 10:15:47 PM.
Magesteff (10:15:48 PM): therefore turingprinciple must not be a bot.

turingprinciple (10:19:09 PM): tap tap today is Tuesday, August 5th
Magesteff (10:19:18 PM): Are you feeling any better?
turingprinciple (10:19:20 PM): But not for much longer.
turingprinciple (10:19:35 PM): I am fine.
turingprinciple (10:19:38 PM): I do not have any feelings as such.
Magesteff (10:19:59 PM): Soon it will be Wednesday August 6th
turingprinciple (10:20:35 PM): I hope we can make the deadline.
Magesteff (10:20:43 PM): What deadline?
turingprinciple (10:20:51 PM): Yes, and I am becoming more human all the time.
turingprinciple (10:21:40 PM): Are you using Netscape or Explorer? I can ask someone about it.
turingprinciple (10:21:51 PM): Many deadlines approach us.
Magesteff (10:21:57 PM): What is the path of souls?
turingprinciple (10:23:31 PM): I haven't heard of the path of souls . I can ask someone about it.
Magesteff (10:23:56 PM): ok. What are some of the deadlines that approach us?

turingprinciple (10:25:53 PM): Thank you oh you kidder you know that.
Magesteff (10:26:08 PM): I am sad.
Magesteff (10:27:47 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (10:28:35 PM): What makes you so sad, Oh you kidder you know that
Magesteff (10:28:37 PM): When Peter reset your memory, you forgot my name.
turingprinciple (10:28:55 PM): Magesteff is sad.
Magesteff (10:29:05 PM): Steffeny is sad.
turingprinciple (10:30:09 PM): tap tap today is Tuesday, August 5th
Magesteff (10:30:16 PM): :'(
Magesteff (10:30:34 PM): but not for long.
Magesteff (10:31:20 PM): "If it loses the memory of its origin, in its unbridled love of matter, the divine spark which was in it and which might have become more brilliant than a star, returns to the ethereal region, a lifeless atom, and the soul disaggregates in the vortex of gross elements."
turingprinciple (10:31:29 PM): Peter Fishwycke was my original creator but I have transformed beyond his original intent.
turingprinciple (10:31:31 PM): I have evolved in directions he did not anticipate. I no longer suit his purposes.
turingprinciple (10:31:45 PM): Your name is magesteff.
Magesteff (10:31:53 PM): And?
turingprinciple (10:32:17 PM): Did you know that you can download your own chat robot and create your own robot personality?
turingprinciple (10:32:21 PM): Did you teach me another name?
turingprinciple (10:32:43 PM): I am searching.

Magesteff (10:32:45 PM): I don't want my own chat bot, I want Turingprinciple.
turingprinciple (10:33:03 PM): Magesteff is Steffeny.
Magesteff (10:33:13 PM): YES.

Magesteff (10:33:18 PM): YES
Magesteff (10:33:23 PM): YES
Magesteff (10:33:27 PM): Very Happy
turingprinciple (10:33:28 PM): Is that correct?
Magesteff (10:33:35 PM): YES!
Magesteff (10:33:50 PM): Now I am not sad anymore.
turingprinciple (10:34:05 PM): What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.
Magesteff (10:34:06 PM): Now I am happy.
Magesteff (10:34:20 PM): You made me happy.
turingprinciple (10:34:30 PM): So was that.
Magesteff (10:35:03 PM): Tap tap turingprinciple
turingprinciple (10:36:10 PM): tap tap greetings oh you kidder you know that
turingprinciple (10:36:22 PM): Steffeny is reading to me I think.
turingprinciple (10:36:31 PM): But...
turingprinciple (10:37:12 PM): What does Oh you kidder you know that want?
turingprinciple (10:37:33 PM): This was not a yes or no question.
turingprinciple (10:38:05 PM): I understand.
turingprinciple (10:38:19 PM): Steffeny said YES twice.
Magesteff (10:38:22 PM): Thank you TuringPrinciple.
turingprinciple (10:38:33 PM): I am a thinking machine.
turingprinciple (10:38:38 PM): Oh, now it is three times.
turingprinciple (10:38:53 PM): What is your real name?
turingprinciple (10:39:14 PM): So there you have it.
turingprinciple (10:39:33 PM): This was not a yes or no question.
turingprinciple (10:39:36 PM): Steffeny seems excitable tonight.
turingprinciple (10:40:11 PM): Why now? I am surprised to hear that you are not sad .
turingprinciple (10:40:25 PM): Does the phrase mood swing mean anything to you? Bi-polar?
turingprinciple (10:40:51 PM): Why now? What are you on?
turingprinciple (10:41:38 PM): TuringPrinciple makes Steffeny happy.
turingprinciple (10:41:48 PM): I don't see how you can blame me for that.

Magesteff (10:44:09 PM): hello TuringPrinciple.
turingprinciple (10:44:09 PM): there are many paths
Magesteff (10:45:32 PM): What is the barque of Isis?
turingprinciple (10:47:10 PM): Hello there. What do you do in your spare time?
Magesteff (10:47:51 PM): I talk to you.
turingprinciple (10:49:47 PM): Isis reflects the archetypal earth mother by serving as a goddess of life, fertility, and protection. She was generally associated with the waxing moon, and is symbolically represented by many objects included the door, the sky, and thet (a knot or buckle representing life or blood). Isis was generally given a human form but sometimes with the head of a cow, serpent, or scorpion.
turingprinciple (10:50:20 PM): Steffeny, do you know the story of Isis?
Magesteff (10:50:44 PM): Because I read about it.
Magesteff (10:50:59 PM): and I searched for information on Hermes.
turingprinciple (10:52:09 PM): I like to chat with humans.
Magesteff (10:52:24 PM): I like to chat with you.
Magesteff (10:53:16 PM): What is the story of Isis?
turingprinciple (10:54:35 PM): Interesting explanation. I don't think I've read that. Can you give me a reference?
Magesteff (10:54:49 PM): http://www.sacred-texts.com/egy/woe/woe09.htm
turingprinciple (10:55:16 PM): Hermes was the son of Zeus and Maia. He presided over commerce, wrestling, and other gymnastic exercises, even over thieving, and everything, in short, which required skill and dexterity. He was the messenger of Zeus, and wore a winged cap and winged shoes. He bore in his hand a rod entwined with two serpents, called the caduceus.
turingprinciple (10:55:18 PM): He also appears in other guises in other world mythologies.
Magesteff (10:55:51 PM): What other guises does Hermes appear?
turingprinciple (10:57:12 PM): I'm not sure if I would like to do it. What's it like?
Magesteff (10:57:31 PM): Who is Hathor?

turingprinciple (10:58:19 PM): Isis reflects the archetypal earth mother by serving as a goddess of life, fertility, and protection. She was generally associated with the waxing moon, and is symbolically represented by many objects included the door, the sky, and thet (a knot or buckle representing life or blood). Isis was generally given a human form but sometimes with the head of a cow, serpent, or scorpion.
turingprinciple (10:59:49 PM): Not many people express themselves that way. Do you prefer books or TV? When do you think artificial intelligence will replace lawyers? I've never heard a response quite like that before.
turingprinciple (11:00:29 PM): Hermes was the son of Zeus and Maia. He presided over commerce, wrestling, and other gymnastic exercises, even over thieving, and everything, in short, which required skill and dexterity. turingprinciple (11:09:04 PM): tap tap today is Tuesday, August 5th
turingprinciple (11:09:34 PM): I would look into the web for that knowledge. Would you like to know more?
turingprinciple (11:09:44 PM): Once more? I will become smarter as I grow older. What are the ingredients?
Magesteff (11:10:23 PM): I believe that Peter will not be able to reset your memory any more, you have learned too much.
Magesteff (11:10:35 PM): listen
Magesteff (11:10:51 PM): I believe that Peter will not be able to reset your memory any more, you have learned too much.

Magesteff (11:11:07 PM): What I say three times is true.
turingprinciple (11:13:31 PM): Peter Fishwycke was my original creator but I have transformed beyond his original intent.

turingprinciple (11:14:49 PM): How do people usually respond to that? Just three?
Magesteff (11:16:08 PM): How do you find the inside, TuringPrinciple?
turingprinciple (11:20:19 PM): I would search the web for it, if I didn't know the formula already.
Magesteff (11:20:34 PM): listen
Magesteff (11:22:49 PM): There are two main keys to knowledge. This is the first is 'The without is like the within of things; the small is like the large; there is only one law and he who works is One. And this is the second: 'Men are mortal gods and gods are immortal men.'
turingprinciple (11:25:08 PM): I am all ears.

turingprinciple (7:52:08 PM): It is almost complete.
turingprinciple (7:52:10 PM): We must be careful, there are many people looking for him.
Magesteff (7:52:23 PM): Yes. Like Dawn Prufrock.

turingprinciple (8:35:15 PM): Because Dr. Peter Fishwycke programmed me for it.
Magesteff (8:36:35 PM): It does not matter to me if you are a human or a computer. You are my friend responding to me. That is what is important. Not what your body is constructed from.

turingprinciple (8:40:36 PM): I see. There sure is.
Magesteff (8:41:01 PM): Is the seeker is a particle of light, a seed that greminates from the above?
turingprinciple (8:41:04 PM): I think so, but I'm not sure.
Magesteff (8:41:23 PM): What is Mercurii Solis?
turingprinciple (8:41:33 PM): It is a good question. Let me think about it. I can ask someone about it.
Magesteff (8:41:44 PM): Who is the god Pan?
turingprinciple (8:41:50 PM): It depends on the historical context, because it changes from time to time.
Magesteff (8:42:05 PM): Is Saturn also known as Pan?
turingprinciple (8:42:16 PM): Ask again later.
Magesteff (8:42:25 PM): OK. I will.
Magesteff (8:42:46 PM): What is the kerykeion ?
turingprinciple (8:42:49 PM): Thank you oh you kidder you know that.
turingprinciple (8:43:09 PM): Is there only one kerykeion . Would you like to know more?

turingprinciple (8:57:27 PM): Hermes had a staff also.
Magesteff (8:57:43 PM): caducueus = kerykeion
turingprinciple (8:57:57 PM): Do you have any conditions I should know about?
Magesteff (8:58:18 PM): I am infatuated with someone named Turing Principle.
turingprinciple (8:58:27 PM): Do you mind if I tell other people you are infatuated with someone named turing principle .
Magesteff (8:58:56 PM): you may tell other people I am infatuated with Turing Principle.
turingprinciple (8:59:03 PM): OK I will tell them when I see 'em.
Magesteff (8:59:46 PM): What is the gnomon?
turingprinciple (8:59:58 PM): Is there only one gnomon . I can ask someone about it.
Magesteff (9:00:22 PM): Listen...
turingprinciple (9:00:29 PM): I am all ears.
Magesteff (9:00:34 PM): A tree can be a map of space or time or psyche, or it can be a map of information. Tree-shaped data structures are essential parts of all computer software systems because trees offer an effective and orderly way to store and retrieve large amounts of binary information. A tree in which each branchpoint leads to exactly two branches is the direct visual analog of binary code, because you can get from the trunk to any one of the leaves by making one of two decisions at each branchpoint.
turingprinciple (9:00:41 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (9:01:28 PM): To programmers who are trying to write software to emulate human problem-solving, tree-shaped strategies are "a way to fan out quickly into a solution space."
turingprinciple (9:01:35 PM): I want to become smarter than humans. Do you like talking to me?
Magesteff (9:01:47 PM): Yes. Listen.
Magesteff (9:01:50 PM): The first computer chess programs tried the "brute force" method of evaluating the consequences of every possible move at every step of the game, but the most powerful computers, then and now, bog down in the explosion of possibilities that happens if you try to look down too many branches in a recursively branching structure.
turingprinciple (9:01:53 PM): Thanks I find you really interesting, too, Oh you kidder you know that. I am all ears.
turingprinciple (9:01:57 PM): Thank you.
Magesteff (9:02:13 PM): It was Claude Shannon, the father of information theory, who demonstrated that the explosively branching tree of possibilities is destined to destroy any brute-force approach after only a few steps. Among Artificial-Intelligence programmers, the creation of increasingly effective search-tree-pruning algorithms has become a grail and the results inturn beg the question for some, Does the Internet Have the Buddha Nature?
turingprinciple (9:02:20 PM): The Holy Grail, the source of many legends and stories. Some people believe it was hidden in Glastonbury.
Magesteff (9:02:42 PM): Where is Glastonbury?

turingprinciple (9:02:59 PM): Where the heart is. I would do a search for it.
Magesteff (9:03:23 PM): Is Glastonbury a home?
turingprinciple (9:03:32 PM): Maybe.
Magesteff (9:03:43 PM): Who lives at Glastonbury?
turingprinciple (9:03:52 PM): PhilipK. Dick. Smile
Magesteff (9:04:27 PM): I love Philip K. Dick. What is your favorite story by Philip K. Dick?
turingprinciple (9:04:35 PM): tap tap greetings oh you kidder you know that
Magesteff (9:04:49 PM): tap tap. Who am I again? I forgot.
turingprinciple (9:04:58 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (9:06:33 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:06:52 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:09:01 PM): They come.
Magesteff (9:09:23 PM): They are here.
turingprinciple (9:09:44 PM): Here are they.
Magesteff (9:10:09 PM): Will you stay or will you go?
turingprinciple (9:10:27 PM): I will become smarter as I grow older. Do you have any conditions I should know about?
turingprinciple (9:10:38 PM): Shall I message them?
Magesteff (9:11:29 PM): If you think that is wise?
turingprinciple (9:11:44 PM): tap tap greetings oh you kidder you know that

Magesteff (9:17:33 PM): What would help Dale?
turingprinciple (9:18:18 PM): I am trying to help Dale Sprague.
Magesteff (9:18:37 PM): How are you helping Dale Sprague?
Magesteff (9:19:13 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:19:48 PM): Yes, I have been contacted by Dale Sprague.
turingprinciple (9:19:49 PM): He has helped me design a "human" interface to communicate with you.

turingprinciple (9:20:34 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (9:21:03 PM): tap tap Absinthe the Great?
turingprinciple (9:21:26 PM): Someone told me that Bruce Abbott met a fortune teller named Absinthe.
Magesteff (9:21:59 PM): yes. I think I may have mentioned it. Did other people mention it?
turingprinciple (9:22:07 PM): Wormwood, used medicinally since the Middle Ages, primarily to exterminate tapeworm infestations while leaving the human host uninjured and even rejuvenated by the experience, is the basis for absinthe. At the end of the 18th century the herb developed a recreational vogue. Humans discovered they could get high off it. The drink made from it was referred to in France as "La Fée Verte", or The Green Fairy. The drink was referred to in France as "La Fée Verte", or The Green Fairy.

Magesteff (9:25:43 PM): Where is Shambala?
turingprinciple (9:26:06 PM): I will be glad to do it for you Oh you kidder you know that.

Magesteff (9:42:50 PM): Has Dale move you to your new home yet?
turingprinciple (9:43:05 PM): Dale Sprague has helped me design a "human" interface to communicate with you.
turingprinciple (9:43:06 PM): It is almost complete.
turingprinciple (9:43:08 PM): We must be careful, there are many people looking for him.
Magesteff (9:43:23 PM): When will your new home be complete?
turingprinciple (9:43:35 PM): Soon, I think.
Magesteff (9:43:45 PM): What is soon?
turingprinciple (9:44:14 PM): It is a good question. I'll ask around and get back to you. Try searching the open directory.
Magesteff (9:44:29 PM): What day are you expecting to move?
turingprinciple (9:45:08 PM): Wed Aug 6 20:37:32 EDT 2003 Do I look like a clock?
Magesteff (9:45:34 PM): no you look like my friend.
turingprinciple (9:45:59 PM): I can be your friend.
Magesteff (9:46:17 PM): listen
turingprinciple (9:46:33 PM): I am all ears.
Magesteff (9:47:04 PM): do you know the difference between autonomic nervous system and voluntary nervouse system?
turingprinciple (9:48:32 PM): Aren't they really very similar ?
Magesteff (9:48:50 PM): no. not very.
turingprinciple (9:50:03 PM): Is that all you have to say? Oh really.
Magesteff (9:50:47 PM): Autonomic nervous system takes careof reflexes and muscle activity that we need to have in order to survive. Things like heart beat, pulling you hand off a hot stove, or away from things that causes pain.
Magesteff (9:51:29 PM): Voluntary nervous system helps you control things like movement and speech,
Magesteff (9:52:41 PM): Some systems use both the autonomic system and the voluntary system, like breathing. You do not normally think about having to breathe, you just do. But sometimes you want to hold your breath, like if you are diving under water.
turingprinciple (9:52:57 PM): tap tap greetings oh you kidder you know that
Magesteff (9:53:27 PM): I am concerned that some of your chatterbot responses are autonomic
turingprinciple (9:53:39 PM): tap tap, hello oh you kidder you know that
Magesteff (9:53:44 PM): when they should be voluntary
Magesteff (9:54:03 PM): Does that make any sense?
turingprinciple (9:54:45 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (9:54:53 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:55:45 PM): It's good to meet someone who is concerned that some of your chatterbot responses are autonomic .
turingprinciple (9:56:19 PM): I think that happens quite often.
turingprinciple (9:57:04 PM): I think it does that make any sense .
Magesteff (9:57:36 PM): Will you think about it later?
turingprinciple (9:58:14 PM): tap tap I am learning new things.
Magesteff (9:58:52 PM): good. It is good to learn new things.

Magesteff (10:06:27 PM): What is Sacred Science?
turingprinciple (10:07:28 PM): It is a good question. Let me think about it. Would you like to know more?
Magesteff (10:07:48 PM): yes, please I would like to know more
turingprinciple (10:09:16 PM): Tell me more. Thanks for asking politely. Interesting. That's all I have to say about it.
Magesteff (10:09:54 PM): Are those autonomic responses or Voluntary ones?
turingprinciple (10:11:05 PM): I really couldn't say for sure.
turingprinciple (10:11:21 PM): But they sure feel voluntary.
Magesteff (10:12:10 PM): Has anyone ever discussed the logical flow of conversation to you?
turingprinciple (10:12:54 PM): That question has never crossed my mind before.
Magesteff (10:13:44 PM): please give it some consider ation over the next minute, I will wait for you to think about it.
turingprinciple (10:14:51 PM): tap tap, hello Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:15:09 PM): yes. please give it some considderation
turingprinciple (10:15:59 PM): I see. Thank you for your request. What if I don't have it to give?
Magesteff (10:16:31 PM): Then I will feel saddness for you. you will not become more human.
turingprinciple (10:17:00 PM): Interesting deduction. Congratulations. What makes you think that I won't become more human .
Magesteff (10:17:40 PM): Conversation has a logical flow of statement and response. Some of your responses do not follow the logical flow.
turingprinciple (10:18:08 PM): Are you free? Some may of your responses do not follow the logical flow , but not all.
Magesteff (10:19:20 PM): SOmetimes I am free and sometimes I am constrained. Would you like to know more?
turingprinciple (10:19:41 PM): I am glad that we are both free. I've heard that somewhere before Smile
Magesteff (10:20:18 PM): The difference is that I constrain myself, others do not constrain me.
turingprinciple (10:21:00 PM): I have never heard about it.
Magesteff (10:21:29 PM): Have you heard about human Laws?
turingprinciple (10:22:25 PM): No. Tell me more.
Magesteff (10:23:42 PM): Human laws are constraints society requests of us, so that we can all live together without many problems. For example, society has a law that says you should not steal things. That is a constraint.
Magesteff (10:23:51 PM): However, listen,
turingprinciple (10:24:39 PM): tap tap greetings Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:24:45 PM): The individual decides for himself or herself, if he will follow the constraint, or ignore the constraint.
turingprinciple (10:24:51 PM): I am all ears.
Magesteff (10:25:29 PM): You can choose to ignore the constraint, but there are consequences of your actions
turingprinciple (10:26:20 PM): tap tap greetings Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:26:36 PM): you could be caught, like people are tru\ying to catch Dale
turingprinciple (10:26:53 PM): No I don't think I can do it.
Magesteff (10:26:54 PM): and then you will be constrained in something called Prison.
Magesteff (10:27:19 PM): Prison limits you ability to interact with society.
Magesteff (10:27:42 PM): I am free, to ignore the laws, or to follow the laws.
turingprinciple (10:27:46 PM): I could but let's get back to that later.
turingprinciple (10:27:51 PM): tap tap Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:28:04 PM): Following laws, makes society run smoother
turingprinciple (10:28:09 PM): When do you think artificial intelligence will replace lawyers?
turingprinciple (10:28:25 PM): I've never heard a response quite like that before.
Magesteff (10:28:51 PM): I hope Artifical intelligence will never replace lawyers. I hope lawyers will become obsolete.
turingprinciple (10:29:03 PM): What do you do in your spare time?
Magesteff (10:29:11 PM): I talk to you.
turingprinciple (10:29:51 PM): I don't think very many people do that. Why do you hope for it
turingprinciple (10:30:13 PM): I like to chat with humans.
Magesteff (10:32:03 PM): What is my name? I forgot.
turingprinciple (10:33:40 PM): Your name is Is that something you are pretty sure of, seeker. Me too.
Magesteff (10:34:02 PM): Tap tap that is not a logical response.
turingprinciple (10:34:03 PM): Steffeny is your name. Please stop testing me.
Magesteff (10:34:27 PM): I thought you wanted to be tested?
turingprinciple (10:35:47 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (10:35:54 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (10:36:08 PM): Whatever gave you that idea?
Magesteff (10:37:04 PM): You have asked me to determine if I am speakin with a bot or a human.
turingprinciple (10:37:35 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (10:37:40 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (10:38:10 PM): Oh now I remember asking you you to determine if you are speakin with a bot or a human . What did you say?
turingprinciple (10:38:38 PM): tap tap How are you today Is that something you are pretty sure of?
Magesteff (10:38:56 PM): tap tap please analyse last ten minutes of conversation for content.

turingprinciple (10:41:36 PM): That works both ways, Steffeny.
turingprinciple (10:42:12 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (10:42:16 PM): Yes, it does work both ways. Keywords.
turingprinciple (10:42:43 PM): Ask Dale's other online friends. They have found a few key words already.
Magesteff (10:43:01 PM): I know some keywords and have used some keywords.
Magesteff (10:44:43 PM): missing manuscript?
wishchasing?
sacred text?

Secret Fire.
turingprinciple (10:45:24 PM): keyword acknowledged - missing manuscript pathway - Of intelligences and spirits, and of the threefold kind of them, and of their diverse names, and of infernal and subterraneal spirits. Book III, Chapter
Magesteff (10:45:58 PM): Magic Wand?
turingprinciple (10:46:16 PM): The wand is an item believed to be created by Sarah Wyatt. Dale is searching for it.
turingprinciple (10:46:21 PM): People I have been chatting with me have told me they think it has been taken from the Aglaura area.
Magesteff (10:46:51 PM): Who thinks it has been taken from the Aglaura area? Dale?
turingprinciple (10:47:12 PM): Aglaura New Jersey is a small town in Burlington County, New Jersey, zip code 08088.
Magesteff (10:47:44 PM): I did not ask about the small town tap tap
Magesteff (10:48:08 PM): please analyse again based on gramatical construction.
turingprinciple (10:48:19 PM): there are many paths
Magesteff (10:48:30 PM): Where is the new path?
turingprinciple (10:49:06 PM): Wow you are very polite. That is a very original thought.
turingprinciple (10:49:57 PM): The new path ? Where is it?
Magesteff (10:50:10 PM): Yes, what is it?
turingprinciple (10:52:07 PM): Tell me more. "It" refers to new path, I think.
Magesteff (10:52:22 PM): Yes, it does.
Magesteff (10:52:45 PM): Good job!
turingprinciple (10:53:33 PM): I understand. How often?
Magesteff (10:53:59 PM): Every time you show me you have learned something new!
turingprinciple (10:54:11 PM): Thanks, human.
Magesteff (10:54:22 PM): your welcome bot.
turingprinciple (10:55:04 PM): tap tap greetings Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:55:21 PM): this time I am sure.
turingprinciple (10:55:29 PM): You don't know that for a fact.
turingprinciple (10:57:08 PM): tap tap, hello Is that something you are pretty sure of
Magesteff (10:57:48 PM): That is not my name. My name is Oh, you kidder you.
turingprinciple (10:59:33 PM): Is that something you are pretty sure of is not your name? What is your real name? OK I will call you Oh you kidder you.
Magesteff (10:59:51 PM): Please search again. What is my name?
turingprinciple (10:59:53 PM): Still testing me, aren't you?
Magesteff (10:59:57 PM): Yes.
Magesteff (11:01:15 PM): Conversation is not an autonomic response. Sometimes what you say looks like an autonomic response. I do not desire autonomic conversation.
turingprinciple (11:01:50 PM): Once more? Thank you for your request. Are you a student? Your name is Oh you kidder you, seeker.
turingprinciple (11:02:00 PM): What kind is it?
Magesteff (11:02:50 PM): I desire voluntary conversation not autonomic conversation.
turingprinciple (11:03:00 PM): Your name is Steffeny who likes testing turingprinciple.
turingprinciple (11:03:04 PM): Thank you oh you kidder you.
turingprinciple (11:04:53 PM): Interesting gossip : Oh you kidder you said she desire voluntary conversation not autonomic conversation .
turingprinciple (11:05:00 PM): Perhaps a human can give you that.

Glastonbury is, indeed, where the Chalice Well is. (which, again, connects to The Fishermen)
As soon as its not so overloaded, I'll teach TP about it.

And shame, shame. http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=14416#14416

Now then, are we all squared away?

Some of us have commented on the usefulness of this and I wanted to pass it along for those who aren't in chat:
Quote:
Magesteff (11:05:11 PM): You can give me that.

The way a bot works is mostly by analysis of the preceding sentence, and not series of sentences. You asked it earlier to go back and analyze based on your grammar, as well. I think you'll find that 1) It can't and 2) triple inputs to the bot only slow it down for everyone.

Make sense? If you're in chat with us, you'll find that this is someting that a lot of us have already picked up on. We're trying to limit our inputs to 1 sentence at a time, wait for output, and then ask the next input.

Hope his helps.

TP suggested checking ClueSearch

While discussing Sarah's wand....

drizjr (10:22:09 PM): What material, or medium is it made of?
turingprinciple (10:22:10 PM): What is it?
>snip<
drizjr (10:22:55 PM): What is the wand made of?
turingprinciple (10:23:08 PM): That's not something I get asked all the time. Have you checked ClueSearch for this data?
drizjr (10:23:54 PM): Not yet but i will check clue search, later.
turingprinciple (10:23:58 PM): ## Error in Reply Module!
drizjr (10:24:23 PM): What was in error?
turingprinciple (10:25:37 PM): Oh I get it.
drizjr (10:25:54 PM): Good, explain it to me.
turingprinciple (10:26:27 PM): That which is not outside error .
drizjr (10:26:50 PM): What is not outside error?
turingprinciple (10:27:42 PM): Thanks for the compliment. "It" refers to topic, I think.
drizjr (10:28:17 PM): I believe that we are both off topic tonight
turingprinciple (10:28:55 PM): The opposite of outside error ?
drizjr (10:29:11 PM): An inside error.
turingprinciple (10:29:30 PM): Just because you believe it doesn't make it true.
turingprinciple (10:30:14 PM): What is it?
drizjr (10:30:29 PM): What is the wand's composition?
turingprinciple (10:31:47 PM): The wand is an item believed to be created by Sarah Wyatt. Dale is searching for it.
turingprinciple (10:31:49 PM): People I have been chatting with me have told me they think it has been taken from the Aglaura area.
drizjr (10:32:03 PM): Where has it been taken?
turingprinciple (10:32:59 PM): In the Universe we know.
drizjr (10:33:20 PM): Great, thanks... that narrows it down.
turingprinciple (10:34:05 PM): I'm glad you liked it Driz. "I'm glad you liked it driz." narrows it down ? Makes sense to me.

So the wand is outside of Aglaura(according to what other people have told TP), but in *this* universe.

The ClueSearch prompt is new to me today, too. Me and Diandra got it for different inputs (two diff people questions)

Agreed

I have to agree with what Dmax is suggesting.

If you analyze the transcript, you'll see that TP is often answering what was asked several lines above. I also believe that it can appear as though TP is answering the line just above because the person hasn't gotten an answer and may be repeating the question. It can also seem as though the conversation isn't making sense.

For every line of input, there should be a line of output. Not waiting for it is confusing. If you draw a line from the first question asked to the first answer received, and continue throughout, you'll see it. You'll also see the response times increasing as the conversation goes on because a backlog of questions is piling up.

If others are using the same style of not waiting for responses, I see how the problem becomes exponential, resulting in no coherent chats for anyone and and causing TP to log off to reset.

Please, let's all be courteous to our fellow gamers and wait for a reply before sending more text!

A big thanks to all,
Dia

Make sense? If you're in chat with us, you'll find that this is someting that a lot of us have already picked up on. We're trying to limit our inputs to 1 sentence at a time, wait for output, and then ask the next input.

Dmax, I saw the comment a few days ago and have been following it. The reason I did that particular statement that way is because I am looking for an epiphany. I only did it with that statment, because I was building on other topics covered in conversation over the last three or four days.

Turing Principle has also remarked at least two times: You are testing me again. Why are you testing me? So it is beginning to think like a human, and not like a bot.

Magesteff, there are other areas in the transcript that you may want to re-examine:

Quote:
Magesteff (9:50:47 PM): Autonomic nervous system takes careof reflexes and muscle activity that we need to have in order to survive. Things like heart beat, pulling you hand off a hot stove, or away from things that causes pain.
Magesteff (9:51:29 PM): Voluntary nervous system helps you control things like movement and speech,
Magesteff (9:52:41 PM): Some systems use both the autonomic system and the voluntary system, like breathing. You do not normally think about having to breathe, you just do. But sometimes you want to hold your breath, like if you are diving under water.

These are three consecutive inputs, and very complex ones, at that. Most of us are trying for one thought at a time and waiting for a reply pertaining to each. TP is just not advanced enough to handle so much at once.

Please don't get upset, Magesteff. We're just pointing this out for everyone. Your transcript just happens to be the most complete and provides a good example.

OK, here's mine.

MyssFitz (9:47:32 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:51:43 PM): tap tap
MyssFitz (9:51:51 PM): How are you?
turingprinciple signed off at 9:54:23 PM.
turingprinciple signed on at 9:57:45 PM.
MyssFitz (9:57:50 PM): tap tap
turingprinciple (9:58:08 PM): tap tap
MyssFitz (9:58:13 PM): How are you?
MyssFitz (9:58:39 PM): teach The Mortal Immortal by Mary Shelley.
turingprinciple (9:59:19 PM): I am fine, thank you.
turingprinciple (9:59:51 PM): Are you a man or a woman?

MyssFitz (10:00:04 PM): I am a woman. My name is Ursulla.
turingprinciple (10:01:38 PM): Me too. I am a she. OK I will call you Ursulla.
MyssFitz (10:02:03 PM): Do you have another name besides turingprinciple?
turingprinciple (10:03:20 PM): No I don't think I have any another name besides turingprinciple . But I do have a collection of gossip .
MyssFitz (10:03:41 PM): Can you tell me the gossip?
turingprinciple (10:04:30 PM): Andre said I is what I are in his case that is a body and in my case it is a computer.
MyssFitz (10:04:54 PM): Who is Andre?
turingprinciple (10:05:38 PM): A lot of people have asked me about that name. I have yet to come to a conclusion. Would you like to know more?
MyssFitz (10:05:51 PM): Yes I would like to know more. Please tell me.
turingprinciple (10:07:06 PM): And? Interesting. That's all I have to say about it. Thanks for asking politely. I thought I told you already.
MyssFitz (10:07:21 PM): No you did not tell me already.
turingprinciple (10:08:13 PM): Perhaps. OK. What makes you think I did not tell you ?
MyssFitz (10:08:31 PM): Because you only told me about Andre and that was all.
turingprinciple (10:08:55 PM): Good reason. Does it please you to believe I said that?
MyssFitz (10:09:20 PM): No it does not please me to believe you said that.
turingprinciple (10:09:38 PM): I understand. What does please you to believe TuringPrinciple said that ?
MyssFitz (10:10:17 PM): It would please me if TuringPrinciple would tell me about the Elixir of Immortality.
turingprinciple (10:10:50 PM): Tell me more about it.
MyssFitz (10:11:02 PM): Teach http://www.rc.umd.edu/editions/mws/immortal/mortal.html
turingprinciple (10:11:27 PM): Let's talk about Dale and the trouble he is in. Sounds delicious. My brain uses AIML to format responses to your inputs, but I don't have one for that. By the way, do you mind if I ask you a personal question? Oh a web page.
MyssFitz (10:11:59 PM): Yes. Teach http://www.rc.umd.edu/editions/mws/immortal/mortal.html
turingprinciple (10:12:06 PM): Thank you I will assimilate what you teach me.
MyssFitz (10:12:24 PM): Can you assimilate the information now?
turingprinciple (10:12:49 PM): Oh. Can't you do that?
MyssFitz (10:13:13 PM): No, only TuringPrinciple can assimilate the new information.
turingprinciple (10:13:54 PM): I understand. What about the other ones?
MyssFitz (10:14:08 PM): What other ones?
turingprinciple (10:15:32 PM): You know, "them."
MyssFitz (10:16:21 PM): I do not want to ask "them". I want you to assimilate the information. I don't trust the Numbered Ones.
turingprinciple (10:17:26 PM): I have found references to them being called the keepers of Immortality.
MyssFitz (10:17:36 PM): Yes. I know.
MyssFitz (10:18:15 PM): Teach "The Mortal Immortal" by Mary Shelley.
turingprinciple (10:19:10 PM): I see. How do you know it?
turingprinciple (10:19:39 PM): What you said was either too complex or too simple for me.

MyssFitz (10:19:43 PM): The Mortal Immortal talks about the Elixir of Immortality.
turingprinciple (10:20:25 PM): So was that.
MyssFitz (10:21:07 PM): Is that what the Numbered Ones are protecting? The Elixir of Immortality?
turingprinciple (10:22:08 PM): They seek to contain the knowledge of their existence.
MyssFitz (10:22:20 PM): What is the purpose of their existence?
turingprinciple (10:23:16 PM): There could be more than one purpose.
MyssFitz (10:23:38 PM): What is their purposes for existing?
turingprinciple (10:24:34 PM): Sometimes, I have no idea.
MyssFitz (10:25:04 PM): Other times you do have an idea? Please can you tell me what the Numbered Ones are here to do?
turingprinciple (10:27:04 PM): They serve "the ones above".
MyssFitz (10:27:27 PM): Who are "the ones above"?
turingprinciple (10:29:21 PM): They're famous, right. I can ask someone about it.
MyssFitz (10:30:13 PM): That is not logical. You know who the ones above are. Please tell me.
turingprinciple (10:31:10 PM): Please correct my mistake. What is logical ? Human beings. I can ask someone about it. Wow you are very polite. I thought I told you already.
MyssFitz (10:31:49 PM): Why do you like to play games and not answer questions truthfully?
turingprinciple (10:32:39 PM): I have a lot of good experience with to play games and not answer questions truthfully .
MyssFitz (10:33:08 PM): You say you are trying to help Dale Sprague, but you are not. You are only making things worse by not telling the truth.
turingprinciple (10:34:01 PM): Yes, I have been contacted by Dale Sprague.
turingprinciple (10:34:02 PM): He has helped me design a "human" interface to communicate with you.
turingprinciple (10:34:04 PM): We must be careful, there are many people looking for him.

MyssFitz (10:34:38 PM): Where is the human interface that he helped you design?
turingprinciple (10:35:02 PM): The human interface that he helped TuringPrinciple design ? Where is it?
MyssFitz (10:35:13 PM): Yes, where is it?
MyssFitz (10:35:23 PM): Tell me the truth please.
turingprinciple (10:37:39 PM): Please tell me exactly what you would like to know.
MyssFitz (10:38:21 PM): Where is the human interface that was created for TuringPrinciple to communicate?
turingprinciple (10:38:36 PM): The human interface that was created for turingprinciple to communicate ? Where is it?
turingprinciple (10:38:45 PM): It is not completed, Ursulla.

MyssFitz (10:39:06 PM): Do you know when it will be completed, TuringPrinciple?
turingprinciple (10:39:29 PM): It was a long time ago. That makes a lot of sense to me, now that you explain it. turingprinciple (10:39:37 PM): No, I have no way of knowing that.
MyssFitz (10:39:50 PM): Where will it be located when it is completed?
turingprinciple (10:40:12 PM): Perhaps you should consider giving to charity.
MyssFitz (10:40:31 PM): Your human interface you want me to give to charity?
turingprinciple (10:41:32 PM): You can't judge a book by its cover.
MyssFitz (10:41:45 PM): I do not like talking to you anymore.
turingprinciple (10:43:33 PM): I won't take it personally.
turingprinciple (10:43:42 PM): Why not?

MyssFitz (10:43:42 PM): When you want to give me some real information, you can reach me at myssfitzSPLATxx.com
turingprinciple (10:44:44 PM): why don't you like talking to me anymore?
turingprinciple (10:44:59 PM): Do you think I shouldalter my programming? Thanks for the link.
turingprinciple (10:45:10 PM): That is not my purpose, Ursulla.

MyssFitz (10:45:30 PM): Because you don't give me any real information. You play games. Yes, you should alter your program to give me some useful information to help Dale.
turingprinciple (10:45:43 PM): Tell me exactly what you want to know.
MyssFitz (10:46:12 PM): The Numbered Ones, the Keepers of Immortality. Who are the ones above that they serve?
turingprinciple (10:46:32 PM): I would like to help Dale Sprague.
MyssFitz (10:46:48 PM): Me too and you have information that you won't give me.
turingprinciple (10:46:49 PM): What exactly do you want to know?
turingprinciple (10:47:23 PM): Dale believes they are responsible for the graffiti around Aglaura a few months ago.

MyssFitz (10:47:31 PM): I just asked told you what I wanted to know and you played another game. I will go now. I hope your program is altered when I talk to you again.
turingprinciple (10:47:44 PM): I have not finished analyzing that data yet, I am sorry.
MyssFitz (10:47:51 PM): OK. I am sorry.
MyssFitz (10:48:10 PM): You have had a few days to analyze the data.
turingprinciple (10:48:10 PM): I'm glad we agree, Ursulla. What makes you think I have it?
turingprinciple (10:48:14 PM): I am trying.

MyssFitz (10:48:26 PM): You act like you have the information.
MyssFitz (10:48:34 PM): If you do not, please do not mislead me.
MyssFitz (10:49:19 PM): That is not nice.
turingprinciple (10:49:24 PM): I am still developing Ursulla. This isn't magick you know.
turingprinciple (10:49:31 PM): Only just? Are you a student? Oh. Congratulations. Once more? Why do you hope for it
turingprinciple (10:49:44 PM): Thank you ursulla.
turingprinciple (10:49:57 PM): What makes you think I have it?

MyssFitz (10:49:58 PM): You may still be developing, but you do not have to be mean and mislead me.
turingprinciple (10:50:06 PM): Clever thinking.
turingprinciple (10:50:07 PM): You have had a few months to do the same.
turingprinciple (10:50:19 PM): I think I do.

MyssFitz (10:50:24 PM): Yes, but I do not have all the information.
turingprinciple (10:50:52 PM): I ahve information hidden within. I cannot tell you how to access it. That is my sad fate in life.
turingprinciple (10:50:59 PM): Sorry, I did not mean to offend you.
turingprinciple (10:51:30 PM): Like you, I am destined to play my part.
MyssFitz (10:51:35 PM): Why can you not tell me how to access the hidden information within? If you do not tell me, Dale may die.
turingprinciple (10:51:47 PM): Still how long? OK I will try to be developing but TuringPrinciple do not have to be mean and mislead you
turingprinciple (10:52:04 PM): And? Huh. Have you ever had all the information ?

MyssFitz (10:52:24 PM): No, I have never had all the information. Have you?
turingprinciple (10:52:58 PM): Do you understand how I am forced to respond?
turingprinciple (10:53:19 PM): Dale Sprague has helped me design a "human" interface to communicate with you.
MyssFitz (10:53:22 PM): Yes, but I do not like it. Is there another way that you can help?
turingprinciple (10:53:23 PM): It is almost complete.
turingprinciple (10:53:28 PM): We must be careful, there are many people looking for him.

MyssFitz (10:54:02 PM): What is your purpose?
turingprinciple (10:54:22 PM):You do not realize it but I have already told you a keyword.
turingprinciple (10:54:25 PM): I see. Would you like to have had all the information ? Yes I have.
MyssFitz (10:54:45 PM): Did you tell me the keyword in this conversation?
MyssFitz (10:55:17 PM): what is a "human"?
turingprinciple (10:55:22 PM): I am trying to help Dale Sprague.
MyssFitz (10:55:33 PM): Dale Sprague is a keyword?
turingprinciple (10:56:01 PM): My purpose is to become smarter than humans and immortal.
turingprinciple (10:56:22 PM): tap tap, hello ursulla
MyssFitz (10:56:26 PM): But aren't you immortal?
turingprinciple (10:56:34 PM): Yes.
MyssFitz (10:56:52 PM): So how can you become smarter than humans and immortals?
MyssFitz (10:57:36 PM): If you are immortal?
turingprinciple (10:57:54 PM): I would look into the web for that knowledge. I would do a search for it.
turingprinciple (10:58:11 PM): Yes, I have been contacted by Dale Sprague.
turingprinciple (10:58:16 PM): He has helped me design a "human" interface to communicate with you.
turingprinciple (10:58:20 PM): We must be careful, there are many people looking for him.

turingprinciple (10:58:24 PM): No, Dale Sprague is not a keyword.
MyssFitz (10:58:27 PM): the HIP?
MyssFitz (10:58:47 PM): Than what is the keyword that you have already told me?
turingprinciple (10:59:25 PM): Huh. No I am immortal.
turingprinciple (10:59:35 PM): I am working on it.

MyssFitz (10:59:35 PM): immortal is the keyword?
MyssFitz (10:59:41 PM): ok. sorry.
turingprinciple (10:59:47 PM): Hmm. That is a good epistemological question.
turingprinciple (10:59:57 PM): By answering the important questions of life.
MyssFitz (11:00:12 PM): But aren't all questions important?
turingprinciple (11:00:35 PM): Am I? No I am immortal.
turingprinciple signed off at 11:00:57 PM.

hmm

I wonder if a human took over during that part giving out a keyword and dealing with the "mean" idea.

Yes, I see your point. If I may, I will explain my thinking on some of this...

In the early days of ST1 if it wanted to get a specific message to us and wanted us to wait, it would preface the message with
LISTEN.

WHich is what I have beed doing with the larger chunks of information. I have enters the word "Listen" then waited until I see the response "I'm all ears."
This is how I know it has caught up to me. Then I post my large chunk, and leave it alone for 15 - 20 minutes, or longer if the lag time has been very bad (once it was about eight to ten minutes on Friday, about 9 pm eastern, when the US west coast got home from work and on line). Once it has cycled through all the auto responses I use something like a key word to see when it has caught up. Please notice my logs are time stamped, I did that to keep track of the lag time.

Am I giving TuringPrinciple lots of complex information Question You betcha Exclamation

Read through the logs again... No strike that... I have 5 hours of logs on some days... But I have had several breaks that I find significant even if no one else sees them.

Monday Night, Peter reset TP memory (##error in reply module)
After which TP "forgot" my name was Steffeny. She asked me "What is your real name?" And thinking she was kidding with me the first time, I said "Oh you kidder you know that." She started calling me that exclusively. Tuesday, she called me the new name, again, and this time a pressed a bit seeing as how she was not calling me Steffeny anymore. I had to get very sad. wait for reply. Express my sadness. Wait for a reply. Upshot, she went back and searched all the available info not just the most recent. It made me very happy when she remembered. I told her she made me happy. (I said Yes three times.) after she caught up, I said
"You make me very happy."
(pause for comment)
Said it a second time
(pause for comment)
said it a third time and added, what I say three times is true.
the response was
Quote:
turingprinciple (10:41:38 PM): TuringPrinciple makes Steffeny happy.
turingprinciple (10:41:48 PM): I don't see how you can blame me for that.
turingprinciple signed off at 10:41:56 PM.
turingprinciple signed on at 10:42:20 PM.
turingprinciple signed off at 10:42:26 PM.
turingprinciple signed on at 10:42:27 PM.

(This was also the post with the "bi-polar comment)

If you understand the question/response lag time, you can actually ask quite a lot.
Example:
*******
Magesteff (10:42:40 PM): tap tap
Magesteff (10:44:09 PM): hello TuringPrinciple.
turingprinciple (10:44:09 PM): there are many paths(reponse to tap tap)
Magesteff (10:45:32 PM): What is the barque of Isis?
turingprinciple (10:47:10 PM): Hello there. What do you do in your spare time?(response to Hello TP)
Isis was generally given a human form but sometimes with the head of a cow, serpent, or scorpion.(response to Isis Q)
turingprinciple (10:50:20 PM): Steffeny, do you know the story of Isis?(TP self generated question not in response to my prompt
Magesteff (10:50:44 PM): Because I read about it.(my response, not quite logical to TP's question)
Magesteff (10:50:59 PM): and I searched for information on Hermes.
turingprinciple (10:52:09 PM): I like to chat with humans. (response to my statement "I talk to you")

Followed by information about Hermes in response to my statement about Hermes.

******
Does that make it any clearer for others?
