So slusho is confirmed as related right? I haven't viewed to sources of each that closely to see. Just wonder if that's still in speculation or if it's definite.
With confirmation about what's involved, Abrams said the 1-18 site is the only one we've found so far. Slusho was found a little more recently I gather but still. Is slusho even confirmed as fake? There's no such thing as Slusho right?

We've had a guy who lived in Japan quite recently confirm that Slusho is not an actual drink there.
Slusho has several ties to the film beyond just the T-shirt. When the movie was filming in Los Angeles, a posted filming permit had Slusho listed as the title.
As well, producer JJ Abrams' television show Alias had an episode in which one character offered to buy another a Slush-O, which was just a Slurpee type drink in a convenience store, without any of this Japanese strangeness.
Considering the Slusho website was up before the trailer came out, and it features the same logo that was on the t-shirt, it is certainly confirmed in my mind.

IMDb also has Cloverfield listed under the other name, Slusho.

...and both sites are using urchin-tracker to see how many of us are finding it and showing up.
Also consider it's a fictional drink, there's no valid reason for it to have it's own website created *well after* the drink was used in an episode of Alias. Its current reincarnation comes directly from the clue in the trailer and the second picture on the 1-18 site - and the "focus" on the "drink" scenario depicted.
The Slusho site was created 2 months ago. Just in time for the trailer.
Also: see SLUSHO! STORY thread - Possible identification of Ganu's cousin!!!
PS: In case you scrolled down too fast and missed it, I edited in the justification for listing the sectorseven whois - and it's relevant here, as reference: it's the clue that mostly confirmed the 1-18-08 site/trailer would be an arg of some sort at all....

That's probably BS.
And until something is solid it needs to go over in the main 1-18-08 thread.

Sorry. Must have missed the link. Can you link me, or is it still in the 'Possible New ARG' thing?

That's the one. It's for hashing out this stuff. I'm new too, but you should try to read as much of it as possible or else it will degrade into people asking the same questions and rehashing the same stuff over and over.

I've been going through posts since the day it was put up. Today when I was at work, it jumped like 20 pages. Didn't click all the links. Thanks anyway, just making sure that's still the thread. Seems to be going slowly right now..

added slusho.org - and a few others. If you come across any others that were missed, PM them to me and I'll add them to the section - just trying to keep it organized is all and to cut down on misc. posts that have been covered already. Thanks
PS ooooh I made veteran already? yay! I always figured "boot" was like a warning or something

more fake sites oh, yeah Tinag, it's very nice that you put up a list of things that are fake / uninvolved, the only problem is that most people aren't going to read it. I think that this site needs to prevent guests from posting. Even if I am one, most guests have useless / already been said information.
The other fake site, I thought, was the www.abc3237.com (some numbers on the license plate) as well as the numberous blog sites and the link off of theparasitemovie.com

slusho.org is defintely BS. For one, they are called freemasons, not free masons.

Great summary!
I notice you didn't include that the contact phone number for the 1-18-08.com site is ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) for the Santa Monica airport in Los Angeles. (I called to check it out, and it's listed on several websites.)

We do restrict guest posting (you must prove you are not a bot) but we do not require people to register even though it's time-saving and helpful to the development of the game community. We hope they will figure that out for themselves and come out of hiding.
What I think will be more helpful is if the players maintain organized threads like this that focus the game discussion. And if the players who have been around keep pointing the newbs back to the good stuff (i.e. u4ik and tinag's summary posts) and reminding people to Search instead of repeating things we have heard before, and encouraging people to lurk a little longer if they want to be sure they have good information etc etc. Gentle encouragement to get people to focus on development rather than post count. Otherwise we're going to start serving more trout.
