Well, if there's a 300 foot monster ripping down your block, you know you're gonna die, why not have a good time when you go?

Because people don't think that way. When a large mass sees a gigantic monster headed your way, they don't start partying, they run away...

It would take a madman not to run away, even if they knew they weren't going to make it.

I think you need to detach your face from your monitor and go outside and say hello to real people. It might help you develop that sense of humor you're so lacking.

And I think you need to register or get the hell off this forum.

What if Robb had advanced knowledge of the incident but didn't know until it actually happened? What if he had a dream about the entire sequence, the monster attack, and liberty's head falling on his friends? He passes it off as jitters about moving to Japan. Then when the fit hits the shan he realizes he had a vision. That could explain his facial expressions (is this real?) and why he knew to push his friends out of the way.

I think the guy at the end of the trailer that says "this is going to be the best night ever" knows something. Why will it be the best night ever? Going away parties are typically not the best times ever.

When you're drunk/buzzed, that night is automatically the greatest night ever.

That's why he was leaving to Japan, remember? Maybe he didn't expect this would happen before he leaves...

No, according to various comments on myspace, I can tell you right now that almost all his friends knew that rob was going to die that day on 1-18-08. He left Japan after he thought he was going to die in one week, but still he figured he had about 6 months to live before the thing tracks him down.

And by thing I mean Cthulhu, check my post on the myspace thread for more info.

Well, if I was at work and realized that something was going to destroy the city *eventually*, I wouldn't go home.

Nebraska. Canned goods and shotguns.

You're never going to acknowledge that they're OOG are you?

I mean, reading that, it didn't sound right at all. Didn't the tone of the comments strike you as...off?

Why does everyone assume Rob's leaving the next day? He comes in at night--probably close to midnight--and his friends throw a surprise party. Pretty inconsiderate if he really was leaving the next day.

There is absolutely nothing in the trailer that indicates when he's leaving, other than that it's soon. If you think the timing of his departure is significant, it's just speculation because the trailer doesn't provide this information.

Maybe we should be asking why the movie opens up with his party happening at the exact same time as the attack, and why the movie appears to focus on him.

I don't think it matters when he was leaving, just that I think the monster knew he was going to leave.

And hell if the monster is targetting him, Rob probably knows why,and therefore might react to the attack differently.

Let's clarify something... the TRAILER is like that. You have no idea what the movie's like.
