It would just totally make my day if the Cthulhu and Voltron fans would flock to a forum of their own. They're freakin' rabid and never give up! We'll be hearing about how the monster is Cthulhu minutes before the first showing.

It's interesting reading about the theory that he knew something already. If his Myspace page is truly IG, then he list one of the people he would want to meet as Nikola Tesla. Tesla had devised theories on teleportation and time travel. It did appear in the trailer that at times Rob's body language was saying "here we go again" and at times to be smiling as though he has heard the comment several times before, like how he blew off being called the main dude.

I still think it odd that they went on the roof when there was the possibility of an earthquake. Even if they didn't believe it to be an earthquake and it was an animal, why go to the roof?

And he did push the girls out of the way before the SOL head came into view.

I really hate to even suggest this b/c it's soooo cliche, and I really don't have a lot of evidence to support it, but...

First, I don't think Rob looks very suspicious at all - I think he's just shocked and confused like everyone else. Even after people suggested his "suspicious" behavior, I looked for it and just didn't see it.

That being said, he may still be 'connected' to the whole story somehow. On the myspace pages, there are a lot of scattered references to extended family - Rob and Hawk's "aunt peg" is mentioned twice, and there's a picture of Hawk and "gramps" at PacSun. Also, baby Dominick (in Rob's blog) is probably the baby of Rob's cousin (based on what he says in that blog entry). I think there's also a ref. to his grandmother (was "Ruth" her name?). All this info. seems to be inviting us to assemble the Hawkins family tree.

Strangely, though, there's no mention of Dad anywhere - not even between Rob and Hawk. So, one possibiltiy (and I really don't like it) is that Rob's FATHER is somehow involved w/Slusho! or something else monster-related. That would give the myspace pages more of an ARG purpose - other than just fleshing out characters. It would also let Rob be innocent, which would make sense, b/c he seems to be just your average 20-something NY "hipster." Also, the Hawkins family must have some money; how else could Hawk not go to college, not have a job, but still live in an apt. in NYC? If their Father (and/or "gramps") are somehow involved with Slusho!, then it would fit that Rob is going to Japan - Dad/Gramps got him the job/internship. Finally, look at the tie Gramps is wearing in that PacSun picture (on Hawk's myspace page) - it looks like it has a japanese/chinese character on it? Can anyone get a clear look at that?

I know this is thin, at best, but maybe "gramps" and/or Rob & Hawk's Dad has some close connection to Ganu/Slusho!.
