Alternate Reality Live Events with Ravenchase Adventures

As avid ARG fans, my wife and I have recently branched out to live events like the events done by Ravenchase Adventures. We are currently running events throughout New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey, but there are events all over the country, including Richmond, DC, Nashville, Portland, Hawaii and more.

So what is a Ravenchase Adventure? Maybe you are a contestant in the Amazing Race, a "Goonie", or a pirate searching for lost treasure. You will solve codes and ciphers, use cool gadgets, and feel the thrill of the hunt in real time.

Ravenchase Adventures conducts both public events as well as corporate events, fundraisers, private parties, and more.

Here are some upcoming events:

The "Catch-a-Tiger-by-the-Toe" Chase
Where: Princeton, NJ
When: August 11, 2007
Time: 2:30pm
Cost: $25.00
Note: This is a driving event.

"Eenie, Meenie, Minie, Moe, Catch a Tiger by the Toe, if he hollers, let him go�" Wait, you'd better not let this tiger go, if you want to win this great Princeton race! So "put a tiger in your tank", if you want to out-chase (or out-drive) your opponents. Just a warning, you may want to have some "Tiger Balm" for those after race sores, but a drink on us should do just fine.

"It's a Shore Thing � The (Highly Anticipated Re-Scheduled) Great L.B.I. Chase"
Where: Long Beach Island, NJ
When: Tuesday, August 14th
Time: 3pm
Cost: $20.00/player

Everyone knows that you can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl. Mix one part Amazing Race, one part DaVinci Code, and two parts Jersey Shore and you've got Ravenchase Adventures on Long Beach Island. From Barnegat and Harvey Cedars to Surf City and Beach Haven, get a little more fun in the sun with a Ravenchase Adventure. Armed with a handmade treasure map, mind-numbing clues, and SPF 45 sun block, see the historic sites and little known treasures of Long Beach Island. So from one Jersey girl to all shore-goers, can't wait to see you on the first ever great Long Beach Island Chase.

The Search for Penn's Pen.
Where: Philadelphia, PA
When: Saturday August 18th
Time: 2pm
Cost: $25.00/player

Under an ancient Elm tree sat a Quaker and the Lenapes, it was here that a Treaty of Friendship was written between William Penn and Chief Tammany in 1681. Three hundred and twenty six years later in True Ravenchase style come search the city of Brotherly Love for that elusive pen that created a treaty, helped draft a city and maybe that survived long enough to help sign a declaration!

"The Great New Amsterdam Subway Chase" (Rescheduled Event)
Where: New York City
When: August 25th
Time: 2pm
Cost: $35/player includes the cost of an all day Metrocard

Go beneath the city that never sleeps with Ravenchase Adventures. From Chelsea to Tribeca, from SoHo to Union Square, join us for the first ever Subway Chase. Solve the clues and race the clock using all your street (and subway) smarts to "outchase" your opponents. Below and above, in this place once called New Amsterdam, we promise you won't be stuck in any red light district. As always, fabulously tacky prizes will be awarded.

So if you have never been on a Ravenchase Adventure, then now is the time to get off the couch and get into the game! Our staff personally greets each group at the start of the race, explains the rules of the game, and gives each team a hand-made treasure map, a scroll of clues, and maybe, even a cool bag of gadgets. Travel in any direction, encounter planted actors along the course, and solve the answers to find a secret end location!
