Hey guys. I just found out about Frank and Sons thanks to the heroes that first posted the news - it turns out that I work literally DOWN THE STREET from the place and plan on checking it out on Wednesday. I'm sure others here are planning to go as well. I wanna see about buying one or maybe getting some good re-con photos. Fake or not, it looks like a pretty kick ass poster.

p.s. It appears G4 is or was doing some filming there for an upcoming Comic-Con preview. Might be worth checking out. I have the filming notice at my blog:

I think it's funny how that one website gives credit to projectcloverfield.com for speculating that the store is Frank and Son's.

If you're talking about my site, which is sounds like you are, all I said was Project Cloverfield and Cloverfield News "reported" the story. Sorry, it was the first place I found it. If you'd like to give me names and ranks, I can give proper credit...that is, if it's that important to you.
Is it not Frank and Son?

It's funny as I subliminally thought that there couldn't be that many more 'iconic' film posters that used the Statue of Liberty since it'd been used by both The Day After Tomorrow and Escape From New York but obviously I was wrong...
Onikage, sorry to ask this again as I'm not sure if you noticed it... but do you still have a copy of the complete second cameraphone pic before you cropped it to show the date and the top portion of the statue?
Or were those actually two different pics that you've scaled down?
Someone at IMDb is already trying to pass off this fake as being the poster you and luwho saw:

Posting that image here, knowing its fake, probably isn't helping the cause.

Not if he posts it as a fake. As a warning. Which he did.

hmmmm Look at this....they are still discussing it on IMDB. Someone once said it is harder to create a bad pic than it is a good one....
This is a comparison of the apocalypto and apocalypse posters to prove it is not the two merged...but I have not seen this fuzzy image of it yet...check it out!
What do we think?

Thank you, HetMasteen. I had wanted to highlight the fake which had appeared on the IMDb forum for Cloverfield so that most people who frequented this topic knew what to watch out for.
I apologise if it may have caused any trouble.
Someone's printed out the fake 'Apocalypse' poster, framed it and blurred it to try make it look similar to the shot posted at the start of this thread.
Funny though, I didn think of Mel's film with the way the 'Apocalypse' logo had been laid out.

the blur on that image looks too much like the motion blur from photoshop, camera shake blur tends to less consistant, where as that shot the blur is all nice and parallel.
the original image at the start of this thread looks far more crdible due to the type of blur on the shot

Is the domain really a find? We already have theparasitemovie.com, parasitemovie.com, thecloverfieldmovie.com (which redirects to paramount.com) and 1-18-08.com (and it's variants). That doesn't make any of them the title of the movie.
Seriously, "Monstrous" is a pretty shitty name for a movie.
