Their Address

Possibly ancient news but after doing a quick google search the cannadian address and suite number once listed on their website is actually an office belonging to SGA Energy Ltd according to this link. I see a reason now why the address is not listed on the site. If Mindstorm Labs is what it says it is they are trying their hardest to make people question their legitimacy.

edit: turns out its SGA Energy's old address,

That is our old address. We are no longer there.

I still haven't been able to find Mindstorm listed in any directories though.

Has anyone tried emailing David Carter at his minstormlabs email address? It's listed on the card that's posted at Koyama Designs, but my outbound email isn't working right:

If mind storm is a real company (which at this point I believe) they are probably getting tired of all of their ARGers contacting them and so they are discarding any Ethan Haas emails without reading them.

I agree. They probably shut down any outside communications because of the flood of emails and contacts coming in.

Though I would make some type of statement.

I've sent them legitimate emails as President of a software company and game developer, including my resume and past products, and it got equally ignored.

I sent them an email saying I was doing a school report on non computer based gaming a few weeks ago asking if they would be willing to do a small interview over the phone or e-mail. They still havent got back to me. For my job I call alot of small independently run companies mainly with inquiries about their workplace or wanting feedback on our services, they are ussually quick to call back since their lively hood depends on a good public image and reputation. Very ballsy of mindstorm labs to distance its self from potential customers.

That's the thing... there's no other way of reaching them. If I was CNN, how would I get in contact with them, short of walking in to their Ontario... or Florida... facility?

I mapquested that address, and its really close to where my apartment os in in Ottawa. I currently am not there, but I will be going back as I go to school in Ottawa. I don't think the information is vital, or possibly even accessible right now, but if there ever is a need to get down there and check it out, I could. Smile

Another thing to add fuel to the fire.

Look at MSL's "Privacy" statement...

http://www.mindstormlabs.com/privacy.html

Compare that to, say, the Wizards of the Coast privacy statement...
http://ww2.wizards.com/Company/Default.aspx?doc=Privacy
...or, I don't know, Blizzard's...
http://www.blizzard.com/privacy.shtml

Notice something different? Like four LINES compared to four PAGES...

MSL's privacy statement is extremely inadequate and pretty much slapped together. In this day and age, especially for a website that asks for your email address, a privacy policy is a necessity. Also, there's no way to remove yourself, or "opt out", anywhere on the site.

Granted, WotC and Blizzard do a hell of a lot more on their websites, but even so this is the only corporate website I've seen in a long time with such a brief privacy policy. Amazing they bothered to even put one.

...And that is what really bothers me. If you were a company getting all these lucky hits from the whole Cloverfield fiasco I would take advantage of it ... get my name out there ... say something about what is going ... yet we hear nothing except auto-responses from e-mails and very little game information.

Almost no updates of their main site, one newsletter, no real information about the RPG, a booth at the 24th annual Pandemonium Gaming Convention and not a bit of information out of that venue. no official statements since their first press release. It is very strange for a company trying to sell a product ...

I mean I would put out some artwork, tidbits of the game system, character archetypes, technology... anything ... yet we get .jpg's and odd responses that actually mean nothing overall ...

... I say that they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.... If they release too much information they risk loosing the fan base that is drawn to them by the mystery ...too little information and people become frustrated ...So what do they do?
