[SPEC] NEW breakthrough! (ACE & 108films)

A few points:
- 108Films has a website, albeit a mysterious one: http://www.108films.com/ Looks like it's a bit messed up.
- Perhaps news or clues about Cloverfield will be released at the ACEFF?

Communication between JJ and O'Malley is an interesting fact, but might not be a significant one. They could just be two friends in the film business out having lunch.

The ACE Film Festival is August 24th-26th. I'm putting that date on my calendar.

Edit: After a few seconds of Googling, I found this: http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0818756/

It's a film made by 108Films and directed by Tom O'Malley. Now we know that there was communication twixt 108Films and Tom O'Malley. But, the 108Films movie above was made in 2005, so it's unlikely that it's related (or Abrams has been planning Cloverfield for three years Very Happy

).

Maybe, and this is going out on a limb, 108Films was originally a coincidence, and then Abrams asked Tom to ask 108Films (for whom he directed a movie, and Tom might actually be a part of 108Films) to sponsor ACE Film Festival as part of the 1-18-08 enigma.

A bit confusing, and highly unlikely, but possible.

Maybe someone can relabel this thread "ACE" or "108Films" so folks wanting to discuss this information can find this thread more easily?

I love the film industry....so many "in jokes" and coincidences.
